At least one person was killed Sunday morning at a crash involving a semi-truck and a Tesla on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Sylmar, authorities said.
The crash occurred 5:10 a.m. on the eastbound freeway at the Polk Street off-ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene. Firefighters and paramedics assisted the CHP with extracting the body from the wreckage, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.
“This incident will significantly impact traffic and drivers are advised to seek alternative routes,” said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A SigAlert was issued at 5:35 a.m. closing all eastbound lanes for approximately three hours, diverting traffic off on Roxford Street, the CHP said.
