BYD will launch the 210km all-electric range versions of Qin PLUS DM-i, Qin L DM-i, Sealion 05 DM-i, and Sealion 06 DM-i.

On January 7, 2026, BYD (01211) announced the launch of long-range versions for four of its popular models: Qin PLUS DM-i, Qin L DM-i, Sealion 05 DM-i, and Sealion 06 DM-i. Their CLTC all-electric ranges all exceed 210km, doubling the all-electric range of competing hybrid models in the same class. This truly enables a “charge once a week” all-electric commuting experience. With an overall range exceeding 2,110km and the ability to charge from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes, BYD’s large-battery plug-in hybrid models can comprehensively cover both daily commuting and long-distance travel.

The large-battery plug-in hybrid models newly launched by BYD aim to set a new benchmark for value in the 100,000-yuan plug-in hybrid market. For consumers planning to purchase a vehicle in 2026, these four new models, which will officially hit the market in early January, are worth close attention and anticipation.

Thanks to the continuous evolution of the fifth-generation DM technology, the upcoming large-battery plug-in hybrid models from BYD are equipped with high-capacity blade batteries specifically designed for plug-in hybrids. These not only increase the energy density of the batteries but also achieve double the all-electric range through AI-based energy management systems while maintaining the same level of vehicle performance and weight.

As the pioneer of the plug-in hybrid technology route, BYD has truly achieved “earliest mass production, most iterations, widest application, and best reputation,” continuously leading the industry forward through ongoing technological advancements. By the end of 2025, cumulative sales of BYD’s plug-in hybrid models have exceeded 7.86 million units, meaning that one out of every two plug-in hybrid vehicles sold in China comes from BYD.

With the state’s new regulations on plug-in hybrids raising the threshold for pure electric range to 100 kilometers starting in 2026, BYD, leveraging its technological foresight, has taken the lead in launching plug-in hybrid models with a pure electric range of 210km. This far exceeds the regulatory standards and precisely addresses consumers’ expectations for high-quality, long-range hybrid vehicles. In an era where new energy vehicles are becoming mainstream, BYD continues to establish new benchmarks of value in the hybrid market through constant technological innovation and product upgrades, further propelling China’s plug-in hybrid technology towards global mainstream adoption.
