Global Sales Performance

During the 2025 Hero Motor confirmed the rule of the biggest Indian motorcycles manufacturers and the second largest in the world.

However, looking at the last decade performance, you must underline how slow is the company performance both at home and overseas.

Indeed, the 2025 sales level is still near 2 million below the company all-time record hit in the far 2018, when sales exceeding for the only time the 8 million annual sales.

In the last three years, while the Indian market grew fast up to an all-time record of over 20.7 million in 2025, Hero’s sales grew up with a lower than competitors speed, achieving 5.7 million domestic sales.

Abroad, the internationalization process is finally delivering some results, with sales achieving a record of 424.350 a +19% from the previous year, thanks to growth in Africa and Latin America.

2026 Company Goals

Last year Hero decided to shift out the electric models business, creating a new brand, “Vida electric“, focusing on the segment. It is unclear the strategic reason behind this decision, considering the Hero brand is strong and with a great reputation both in India and in top regions abroad (Africa and Latin America).

However,  a key goal for 2026 is to expand the Vida electric scooter portfolio to six models over the next 12 months in order to gain share within the domestic segment and have a better line up to support the international expansion. In addition, The company is looking to improve the retail network and charging infrastructure n India ahead of the product offensive. Vida has a presence in 100 cities across the country right now, and the automaker will expand it further to 100 more cities in the next financial year.

In addition, the company will support the entrance of the allied Zero Motors in the segment scooter, introducing 6 new models by end of the year. As you may know, Hero has made an equity investment of close to Rs 500 crore in California-based electric motorcycle maker Zero. The companies are now jointly developing electric motorcycles, combining Zero’s expertise in powertrains and electric motorcycles with the scale of Hero MotoCorp’s manufacturing and distribution.
