It was a fully functional prototype vehicle commissioned by Claude Sage, a Swiss Honda importer, to help launch the first-generation Civic in the European market. It was designed and hand-built by the Italian coachbuilding firm Carrozzeria Coggiola.

The exterior was a sleek, wedge-shaped design, distinct from the standard rounded Civic and reminiscent of other Italian-designed cars of the era like the Volkswagen Scirocco.

The interior was slightly more upscale than the production model, featuring wood accent work on the dashboard, velour upholstery, a "purse hook", and a passenger-side makeup mirror.

It used a standard 1.5-liter carbureted inline-four engine from a production Civic, paired with a four-speed manual transmission. According to The Drive, this setup produced about 64 horsepower.

Only a few hand-built prototypes were created.
