Tesla is integrating Starlink into its Electric Cars – Every Brand Should Do This!
Tesla has filed a patent to use Starlink inside Tesla cars. If you don’t have Starlink, you probably don’t have a good idea of what Starink is like. This video will be uploaded using Starlink. I use Starlink to upload all of my videos. For the past two years, I’ve been using it. I’ve uploaded thousands of videos with Starlink because I have no real other choice. I’ve got broadband internet here and it’s crap. It takes it’s takes forever to upload videos. It’s terrible. But Starlink is great. And this video that I filmed it probably take me less than a minute to upload. And if you want to use Starink, by the way, you can use my referral code. I’ll put a link in the description below. You get a free month. I’ll get a free month and it works out well. But how does this affect Tesla’s cars? What’s the purpose of even having Starlink? Well, there is a purpose and um I’ll explain what it is and I I actually think this is going to give a Tesla an advantage. Hello my friends. Welcome to the channel. I’m Sam Evans. You’re watching the Electric Viking. You know, now you can use your phone as a key. Yeah, you can use your phone to unlock your car. And I got a bit too comfortable with that. And I found um a couple of times I got locked out of my car because something happened to the internet. And yes, now there’s another way you can connect to your car. Not just using internet, you can use Bluetooth as well. But my car wasn’t connected. It basically lost connection to the internet and it didn’t recognize my phone and I wasn’t able to use the car. And fortunately, I was only a kilometer away from home on one of these occasions. But this can happen. Now, could you potentially have the same problem with a Tesla, right? If you were using if you were using the internet in the same way, using your phone as a key. Well, using Starlink, I don’t think so. There is literally thousands of satellites. Now, could there be some sort of interstellar storm that could wreck the satellites? And yeah, it could happen, but I mean, it’s just extremely extremely unlikely. And I’ve got to say, even though I have had Starlink drop out, it does drop out quite often, it only drops out for about a second or two or a couple of a few seconds, it’s extremely reliable, more so than any other internet I’ve ever had. So, based on my experience, and I know everyone’s experience is going to be different, I think it’s a really good decision. Tesla filed a patent that shows that they are preparing to integrate Star Star Starink satellite receivers directly into their vehicles. And here’s the other thing, right? In most countries around the world, um you won’t have internet in certain regions in your country. This is the case in the United States. It’s the case in Europe. It’s the case in Australia. It’s very much the case in Australia. There’s many places even if you have the absolute best phone network in Australia there’s a very large proportion more than 50% of Australia doesn’t have any mobile reception at all if you’re connected to Starlink not the case you will have it so in this this is a real big advantage if you want to travel around Australia want to travel around different countries you will have if you know wherever you wherever you’re based if you’ve got your car there in that country you’ll continue to have internet this is a a gamecher for people who love to travel. Tesla vehicles are already some of the most connected machines on the planet, relying heavily on cellular networks for everything from autopilot data collection to overthe-air software updates and streaming features. So, there’s that as well. Yeah, cellular coverage is patchy. So, the patent titled vehicle roof assembly with radio frequency transparent material describes a new roof structure designed specifically to allow satellite signals to pass through. The filing notes that traditional automotive glass and metal roofs often block or attenuate satellite signals, making it difficult to hide an antenna inside the cabin. Tesla’s solution is to use specific polymer blends such as polycarbonate or acryotrial styrene acryate that are radio frequency RF transparent. The patent explicitly mentions that this assembly allows for the integration of antenna directly into the roof structure, facilitating clear communication with external devices and satellites. As I mentioned earlier, Starlink SpaceX’s satellite internet constellation is a high bandwidth, low latency satellite network capable of supporting the kind of data Tesla vehicles consume and of giving customers an experience that is going to make it uh better than other vehicles that don’t have this. It will be an advantage. There’s no doubt. We’ve already seen some Tesla owners actually use Stalink mini dishes in their cars for off-grid camping or just for traveling from one place to another. Um, but this is different. This will actually integrate into the vehicles. And I think this is going to make total sense and absolutely improve people’s experience. And it’s one other point I should mention. There has been people die in their cars in Australia and other countries as well where they get lost, they get stuck in a desert, their car gets bogged, they run out of fuel and they don’t have any phone reception. and they die. This has happened many times. If you actually jump on chat JPT or Gemini or Grock, whatever you use, and you look at all the all the people you ask, I keep asking questions where how many people have died in this country? How many people have died in that country? There’s quite a lot that have died from this. But if you’ve got a little satellite internet chip in your car and you can connect to Starlink, well, you’ll easily be found. Yeah. Now, this is I know it’s a bit of a obscure example, but it kind of does give it you another advantage because here’s the thing. When are you most likely to get injured or have some sort of emergency? It’s probably when you don’t have any phone network. You know, you’re probably doing more adventurous stuff in that situation and probably in more dangerous situations, get bitten by a snake or something like that where you need to be you need basically be be able to be found quickly. So this is one big advantage and I think um if other car manufacturers choose not to approach Tesla to integrate this in their cars, I shouldn’t say Tesla, not to approach Starlink to use this in their cars, Tesla will have another advantage and it will be an advantage that I think is absolutely worth considering as a consumer. So if you’re a car manufacturer, you need to approach Starink and say, “Guys, we want this too. This is this is great. Why wouldn’t you want it? Let me know what you guys think. Do you agree with me? Do you disagree? Let us know in the comments. And thanks for watching. Bye-bye. I have Starink, guys. All of my videos uploaded on Starink. I love it. You should get it. I’ll put a a link in the description below. It’s basically referral code. It gives you a free month of Starink, which I didn’t get when I signed up. I wish I had have used someone else’s referral code. It gives me a free month as well. So, it’s like, you know, good for you, good for me. The link is in the description, guys. Amidst Brazil’s war with Starink, seriously, Brazil have just banned Starlink. So is China. Any country that banned Starink, you know, what have they got to hide? Why are they banning Why are they banning internet? Why they banning it? That is not a good thing. Anyhow, all of this is going on, right? All this kind of hoo-ha. And Elon Musk comes out with this. He says Starlink will offer free emergency service to all phones. All phones worldwide. If there’s an emergency, you can jump on Starlink with your phone and you’ll have a free emergency service. Now, that is insane. I don’t know how that’s going to work. I don’t know how they’re going to get that to work. I don’t understand the technology, but I do understand this. I Well, I would be screwed without Starlink. Seriously.
Tesla is integrating Starlink into its Electric Cars – Every Brand Should Do This!
Tesla integrating Starlink into its electric cars could redefine in-vehicle connectivity, delivering reliable high-speed internet where cellular networks fail. If successful, this move may set a new industry standard that forces other automakers to rethink how “connected” a modern car really is.
