What started as a clever solution to urban commuting in the 70s has become a symbol of British engineering design built around a simple philosophy to make a bike that’s compact, practical, and a joy to ride. So, what exactly is the electric Gine? The G stands for gravel. This is a four-speed electric Brmpton newly revamped for 2025 and moving away from the classic 16-in wheels with a more robust 20-in offering. But more than that, it’s a re-imagination of what folding ebikes can be. Where Brmpton has set the bar and been synonymous for world-class folding bikes, the foray into electric at the beginning has had mixed reviews with Cine and Pine models. Whilst these models started off as folding bikes that had been electrified, the Gline truly is an original electric folding bike engineered from the ground up to be electric with better weight distribution and a new anti-rotation hinge design.
