2025 Toyota Tacoma vs. 2025 Ford Ranger | Toyota
The 2025 Toyota Tacoma versus the 2025 Ford Ranger. Let's find out which of
these two pickup trucks offers the best blend of
versatility and capability. Thanks to its available
ventilated front seats, Tacoma offers more comfort-oriented
features than Ranger. Tacoma's Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 helps promote added peace of mind, while Ranger only includes
it on higher grades. Tacoma's available JBL Premium Audio has removable speaker
that Ranger does not have. Plus, Tacoma comes standard
with SiriusXM trials, while Ranger only includes
it on higher grades. Now let's put Tacoma
and Ranger side by side. Tacoma's eight grade lineup
includes four TRD models, plus a choice between two bed
lengths and two cab styles, while the 2025 Ford Ranger is available in four grades only and
exclusively as a crew cab. Tacoma also has an edge over Ranger thanks to its available
i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain. Tacoma's capability really impresses. This starts with its
i-FORCE turbocharged engine with up to 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, more than Ranger's standard 2.3-liter turbo four-cylinder, which is rated at 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. It continues with its available i-FORCE MAX hybrid system with up to 326 net combined horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. Ranger has two available
turbocharged V6 engine options, a 2.7-liter with 315 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, and a three-liter with 405 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of
torque on the Raptor grade. Tacoma pairs its punchy powertrains with off-road-tuned suspensions featuring Bilstein shocks on TRD Off-Road, Old Man Emu shocks on Trailhunter, and Fox shocks on the TRD Pro grade. Ranger may includes Fox Shocks on its Raptor grade and
off-road-tuned shocks on the Lariat grade as
part of the FX4 Package but it still does not have answer to Tacoma's TRD Off-Road
and Trailhunter grades. Tacoma also brings the
added on-road refinement with its Limited grade, just consider its standard Adaptive Variable Suspension and available full-time
four-wheel drive system. Ranger does not have an answer to Tacoma Limited's Adaptive
Variable Suspension, but it does come with a
Watts-Link rear suspension and full-time four-wheel
drive on the Raptor grade. Tacoma's modern, rugged design pairs style with function. There are available 18-inch alloy wheels that add to Tacoma's purposeful looks, while the standard deck rail system brings added versatility versus Ranger, which doesn't offer anything similar. Ranger also has available
18-inch alloy wheels on select grades. The i-FORCE MAX hybrid models have a 2,400-watt/120-volt
AC power inverter that's more powerful
than Ranger's equivalent, giving owners added flexibility when powering devices on adventures. Tacoma's impressive
functionality continues with its available power tailgate, a feature that Ranger
doesn't have an answer to. There's also an available power moonroof on Tacoma that helps open
the cabin up to the outside, something that Ranger can't answer either. When it comes to comfort, Tacoma delivers with features like the available dual-zone automatic climate control system. Ranger has available dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control. This is enhanced by available heated and ventilated front seats, the second of which Ranger does not offer. Additionally, an available
heated steering wheel adds warmth, while an available
Qi-compatible wireless charger is designed to help keep mobile devices topped up on the road. Ranger also has an available
heated steering wheel and available Qi-compatible
wireless charger. Tacoma even has an available 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and an available head-up display, which are designed to keep important information front and center. And while the Ford Ranger also has an available 12-inch
digital instrument cluster, it can't match Tacoma's
available head-up display. In terms of Audio Multimedia, Tacoma has a standard
eight-inch touchscreen and an available 14-inch touchscreen. Ranger offers a standard
10-inch touchscreen and an available 12-inch touchscreen. The Toyota interface includes standard wireless compatibility
for Apple CarPlay, which connects drivers to
the apps on their iPhone, including maps, messages,
podcasts, and music subscriptions. In addition, wireless
Android Auto compatibility makes it easy to stay
connected to Android devices and access various apps and services from Google including YouTube
Music and Google Maps. Plus, there's a standard three-month SiriusXM trial subscription that includes over 165
channels available in-cabin, and even more on the SiriusXM app, making it easier than ever to enjoy not just ad-free music, but also sports, comedy, and more. Ranger includes standard
wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but the SiriusXM trial is included only on the XLT grade and up. Select Tacoma grades also include trials for Toyota's line of Connected Services, including Safety Connect, Service Connect, Remote Connect, Wi-Fi Connect, and Drive Connect, while Ranger comes with
Ford Pass Connect trials. Finally, Tacoma has an available 10-speaker JBL Premium Audio system, which includes a portable JBL FLEX speaker that lets drivers take
their tunes on the go, a feature that Ranger's available 10-speaker B&O Premium
Audio system falls short of. All Tacoma grades come with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 system. This includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, Full-Speed Range Dynamic
Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. Ranger's Ford Co-Pilot360 system includes similar features
to Toyota Safety Sense but it's only available
on its XLT grade and up. Blind Spot Monitor with
Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and the Panoramic View Monitor
are available on both trucks. Tacoma's off-road grades also have an available Multi-Terrain Monitor that Ranger does not
have an equivalent for. Finally, Tacoma has available Front and Rear Parking Assist
with Automatic Braking, and available Trailer Backup Guide, while Ranger has available front and rear parking sensors, Reverse Brake Assist, and Trailer Backup Assist. Every Tacoma includes ToyotaCare, which includes two years or 25,000 miles of scheduled maintenance, whichever comes first, and two years, unlimited mileage 24-hour roadside assistance. Range includes five years or 60,000 miles of roadside assistance but does not include
scheduled maintenance. Tacoma and Ranger include a three-year or 36,000-mile basic warranty, whichever comes first, and a five-year or 60,000-mile powertrain warranty, whichever comes first. Tacoma's i-FORCE MAX hybrid grades also include a hybrid system warranty that covers select components for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, and a 10-year or 150,000-mile
hybrid battery warranty, whichever comes first. From its impressive overall capability to its stunning versatility, it's no wonder why Tacoma remains such a smart choice
among midsize pickup trucks. Discover Tacoma today at Toyota.com.
