Decathlon is recalling some of its e-bikes after an issue with the motor was discovered. The product recall lists 14 affected SKUs, sold for eight months of 2025. In the announcement, the company advised affected users to stop using their electric bicycles immediately and laid out the next steps for these customers.

Decathlon has issued a recall for several of its Rockrider and Btwin electric bicycles in European countries, including the UK, the Netherlands and France. In a statement released on December 11th 2025, the company listed 14 SKUs affected by this issue:

According to Decathlon, a recently identified problem with the software for the motor used on these e-bikes could cause the pedals to move backwards at random. The models affected were sold between April 1st 2025 and December 1st 2025. The company also notes that the issue was found in software version 8.2. If you own one of these e-bikes, with the motor running software version 8.2, you are advised to stop using the product immediately.

Affected customers can return the product to a Decathlon workshop, where it will be repaired. Presumably, you will not have to pay for this service, though this is not stated on the recall poster. To check if you are affected by this recall, you can complete this survey on the Decathlon website.
