Why No Manual Electric Cars
Why aren’t there any electric cars with manual transmissions? Because an EV in theory could be bolted to a manual, but there’s just no point. See, combustion engines need the gears to stay alive. Your RPMs go too low, and you embarrass yourself. We’ve all been there. But electric motors don’t have that problem. They make instant torque from zero RPM, and they can rip insanely high, like up to 20,000 RPM. So, by the time you would need to shift to second, you could be doing like 150 mph. So in reality, a manual EV would never need to be shifted, completely defeating the point of a manual. So instead, EV manufacturers create virtual fake gear.
