A Tribute to F. A. Porsche | A Sonderwunsch 911 born from legacy.
Building this place. The idea was to be finished for his 90th birthday. And now we are bringing his cars to live in here. Time is fleeting and we said, okay, how can we honor that? His legacy. And then we had the idea to look into a special car. What would he have ordered today if he would have ordered a 911? I liked Sonderwunsch very much because there you have a very close connection and interaction with customers. And there you can feel as well the connection to the brand. The possibility to individualize a car is really great. It’s like a a tailored jacket or suit, you know, it’s really something special. He was responsible for the design of the 911. So without him and his team, the 911 wouldn’t exist. So a new 911 that keeps kind of the legacy of, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche is a great project for us. I believe that Porsche is one of the few brands that have such a strong history, but that is so much part of our brand DNA. The big challenge is to find always the right balance between how far do you go into the future without losing the link to the history? We looked into his favorite coats. It’s these houndstooth jackets that he wore a lot. In my memory, that’s really something how I picture him. We detected at the archive that green, for example, is a well-known color for the family, but not only for the family, but for, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, in particular. We thought, what would he choose today? And we discussed it in the family. We were sure that he would love a green that brings all his favorite greens together. So that’s the search for the F. A. green. We brought the ‘fuchs’ wheel back, in a modern interpretation. This wheel is more linked to the historic wheel. This combination of the brown leather and this textile pattern, which is referring to his jacket, that, would bring a smile on his face. And to see this and that Mark comes along with that idea, it’s fascinating. It’s just great. It’s not only about the car, is about caring. It’s about that his son cares what his father did. It’s all about, memories. And to honor, achievement of the, the timeless 911 design and to, to carry on the legacy, you know, really a family legacy. And with this, it’s, I hope it will be like driving with him.
