Changan Hunter REEV – Quick impressions with Ride and Drive
Alan R. Yes, Lori. This bright sunshiny day. Beautiful summer’s day in German from all of the overcast weather we’ve been having. But anyway, we are in the Changan Hunter Reeve range extended electric vehicle. Yes. And what is the the the anomaly with that car is that it’s an electric vehicle. Yeah. So, battery powered 31.8 I think kowatth electric battery right uh supplemented by a 2 L petrol engine which does not drive the vehicle. It basically drives a generator to power the vehicle. To power the vehicle. Yeah. A lot of people have been confused by that. Yeah, very much so. In actual fact, they’re not understanding it at all. But anyway, but what it gives you, the beauty of this whole system is it gives you a range of a,000 ks correct on a tank and charge if I can call it. I’m just looking at the the the dash area here. Really, really looks nice. Very neat. I’ve got to tell you, screens here. Yeah. 12 point something in screen there and a little screen there. Yeah. For your dash and lororry. Lots of little buttons. Lori, grab handles. Grab handle. 30 lorry handles. No, they’re luri handles. No panoramic roof yet. No. No, there isn’t. But I mean, it’s a Bucky. No wonder. By the way, this is a double cap Bucky. E. Yes. Yeah. Just in case. It’s got, you know, a lot of double cap cabies have not got space at the back. Yeah. This one’s pretty good. This one’s got plenty space. Nice leather seats. And on the buck, they say you can load a ton. Yep. Load a ton. And it’s got 2 and 12 ton towing ton towing capacity which you know is is decent. Yeah. But keep that in mind. It’s an important nice air con and it drives very smoothly. Alan. Yeah. Very well planted. Well, you’ve got 200 kW under your right foot. Mhm. Combined. Yes. And 470 Newton me of torque. Correct. Let’s talk about that range for a second. How much on electric alone? 145 is the quoted figure. Okay. So, you know what? You’re running around town, you could virtually run on electric only. Yeah. I found with these these vehicles that you you must have that charge, though. Yeah. You know, if it’s not charged, it doesn’t give you nearly as nice a drive. Yeah. We we’ve discovered that with a few of the hybrids and plug-in hybrids recently, but not taking away from this one. Yeah. But anyway, we haven’t driven it like that yet. No. No. All right. We’re going to talk price in a moment or two. That’s it. Yeah. Yeah. Right. So, I’ve been kept you waiting. You just want to know what the price is. I want to know the price. Shivering with anticipation. Are you $9.95? 900. No. I’ll tell you what. Give me that and I’ll get you one of these. I’ll keep 200,000. How’s that? I was just kidding. What is it? $7.99. Wow. I was 200 grand out. Yeah, that’s why that’s why I wanted to keep it. No, that’s why I said that because I thought, “What the heck?” No, I mean what’s interesting and I’m going to say this here. Mhm. The only not the only other Reeve, but the other Reeve we’ve driven the other day. Yes. Which is a large premium luxury SUV. SUV compared to a double cab Bucky and basically exactly the same price. Yeah. How’s that for interesting? Yeah, very interesting. So, yeah, I think we’re going to see a few of these reeves. You know, when it first came, I mean, Reeve, what the heck is this stuff? Cuz we got we got PV, we got AGV. Got to interrupt you. You see, it’s attracting attention from other from other vehicles around us, eh? Yeah. So, you know what? Um, I think it’s it’s well priced. It’s I think it’s hitting the mark dead on. No doubt. Yeah. Yeah. But you know what? If the guys want to check it out, they must pop into our friends at Mark White Niss in Forway. Yeah. Um and I think you can see either Wayne or Desmond there. They guys know their stuff and they’ll give you the oneonone on this. They really jacked up over there and friendly service. Very friendly.
