Tesla has officially launched the ability for owners in the United States to gift one-month Full Self-Driving (Supervised) subscriptions — just in time for the holidays. The new “One Month FSD (Supervised) Gift Card” is now live in the Tesla Shop, priced at $112. According to the listing, the gift card is intended to cover the monthly cost of FSD (Supervised), including up to 13% sales tax, though Tesla notes it may not fully cover the subscription if pricing or taxes change.
This rollout comes after Tesla Vice President Raj Jegannathan confirmed last month that the company was working to enable FSD subscription gifting before the holiday season. “Will have it ready before holidays!” Jegannathan responded to a community suggestion for 1-, 3-, and 6-month giftable FSD options at the time. The feature is now officially here — and right on schedule.
For Tesla fans, this marks the first time the company has offered a native, official way for owners to gift access to FSD (Supervised). Previously, gifting FSD meant relying on ad-hoc solutions like digital gift cards or reimbursing friends. Now, owners can simply buy and send an FSD gift card to eligible drivers, who can store it in their Tesla Wallet and redeem it toward a subscription or any other Tesla product or service that accepts gift card payments.
The timing could hardly be better. FSD (Supervised) continues to evolve rapidly as Tesla pushes for wider adoption globally. Tesla has been iterating at an aggressive pace, with the latest version, FSD 14.2.1, even enabling users to text behind the wheel in certain low-complexity driving scenarios — a controversial but notable step forward in the system’s capabilities.
With today’s launch, Tesla owners can now give friends and family who haven’t experienced FSD the gift of autonomous — albeit supervised — driving this Christmas. The gifting feature also arrives as Tesla continues its international FSD expansion. Last month, Tesla launched FSD (Supervised) in South Korea, its seventh market. It remains unclear whether subscription gifting will eventually expand outside the U.S.
If you haven’t tried FSD (Supervised) on your Tesla yet, you might not need to wait around for someone to gift you a subscription. Tesla is currently running a free FSD trial for HW4-equipped vehicles across North America, giving eligible owners full access to the system throughout the holiday season.
Still, this new gifting option is likely to help Tesla expose FSD (Supervised) to more drivers during the busiest travel season of the year — and perhaps convert a few skeptics along the way. As Tesla continues to roll out new FSD capabilities and pushes toward its long-term autonomy goals, subscription gifting could become an important tool in broadening adoption.
