How Mopar forced GM’s hand and changed car design for a generation – 1959 Chevy Impala

We came across this 1959 Impala at a Cars & Coffee event in Westlake Village, CA. The owner was sitting next to the car on a folding lawn chair, enjoying the morning air while 50s music flowed from the custom external speakers. He was obviously very proud of this car and it drew us in.

I'm just now learning more about classic makes. In our conversation, I learned some of the history of the car and the most interesting was the sudden shift in design language that GM underwent when they got a glimpse of Mopar's Forward Look designs.

I'm looking forward to seeing more amazing finds like this and learning more about this generation of Impala and this era of GM in general!
