I’m ticked off at the waste of time and money occurring at the never-ending crossing-light project at the intersection of Aloma Avenue and Howell Branch Road. They will pour new cement as part of the rehab and then a few days later drive heavy equipment across the new cement to address some other part of the project. The new cement is then cracked and a few days later they come out and pour another round of new cement to replace the new cement that they ruined.
I get ticked off every time I hear the football term “line of gain,” which has replaced “first-down marker.” It doesn’t make any sense to me, but I think the announcers are forced to use the term.
Columnist Mike Bianchi had nothing nice to say about Louisiana or about LSU. Did you forget that Tulane is also in Louisiana? Jon Sumrall will do well at the University of Florida. Let’s see what LSU does to the Gators next season.
Someone recently was ticked off at empty coffee cups. How about all the movies and TV shows where there are empty suitcases and empty briefcases? Annoying to see actors carrying what are supposed to be heavy suitcases and briefcases. Not realistic, as theater is supposed to be a reflection of real everyday life!

The flip side

I really appreciate Jeremy, who works at the Colonial Plaza Chick-fil-A near Bumby Avenue. He always greets me with a smile and a warm welcome, saying “Nice seeing you again.”
