Ginny meets the Jeep EV! The 2026 Jeep Recon

This is the new 2026 all electric Jeep Recon. Jeep says it’s its first trail rated electric SUV. Basically means it’s been through all of their toughest off-road tests and it’s got serious off-road capability as you can see. Look at those. It’s got all the kit you need. 33in tires, 231 mm of ground clearance, all the angles you need for climbing and crawling. Power that comes from two motors, 650 horsepower. Naugh to 60 is just 3.6 seconds. Not surprisingly, it’s got a massive battery, 100 kW. That’s protected underneath here, and it can charge from 5 to 80% in about half an hour. It’s got up to 250 miles of range. Because it’s a Jeep, you can remove the doors, remove the windows, no tools needed, which actually, when you think about it, could be quite helpful for conserving range, get rid of some of that weight. Inside, as you can see, that’s quite plush. Leather seats, 14.5 in touchscreen, heated seats. There is a decent size boot and a 58 L trunk as well. It arrives in the US in 2026. The UK will follow towards the end of that year. Prices, we expect it to start at around £51,000. And I think it’s an interesting comparison to the forthcoming Rivian R2. Which would you rather have?
