Sailun Erange EV vs. OE Tire: MotorTrend’s Real World Test

I’m Will Colette with Motor Trend. We put the Saloon E-Range EV tire through a full round of evaluations. Dry braking, wet braking, cabin noise, and rolling resistance head-to-head against the Tier 1 OE supplied tire. On dry pavement, the Saloon E-Range EV delivered short, confident stops, breaking 6.7% shorter than the Tier 1 OE tire. In the wet, the Simoon E-Range EV stopped 5.3% shorter than the Tier 1 OE tire, about seven and a half feet, roughly half the length of a compact SUV. We also measured cabin noise across different surfaces. The Salem was smooth and comfortable, only slightly louder than the OE in some conditions, but very comparable overall. And in rolling resistance testing, it proved efficient, helping maximize EV range without sacrificing grip. Across braking, noise, and efficiency, the Saloon E-Range EV tire outperformed the OE tire overall. And when you factor in its cost advantage, it delivers a better all-around package, combining safety, comfort, and range with greater value for every dollar.

We put the Sailun ERange EV tires through braking, noise, and rolling-resistance tests vs. the factory set. The results? Shorter stops, quiet ride, and solid range—without the premium price.
