Logistics Giant to Assemble, Distribute, and Install Low-Carbon Conversion Kits for Commercial Fleets Across France
CEVA Logistics, a global leader in third-party logistics with deep expertise in the automotive sector, has signed a five-year agreement with French start-up SANCEV, a specialist in low-carbon retrofit solutions. Under the contract, CEVA will manage the assembly, storage, and distribution of SANCEV’s electric conversion kits, which are designed to convert combustion engine commercial vehicles into electric ones.
This industrial partnership is highly aligned with a circular economy approach, offering an alternative to purchasing new electric vehicles and directly contributing to the decarbonization of commercial vehicle fleets in France.
End-to-End Logistics and Conversion Services
The value-added logistics services will be centered at CEVA’s platform in Marly-la-Ville, near Paris. Operations will commence in November with the first deliveries of automotive parts and accessories required for the powertrain conversion. CEVA is projecting volumes to steadily ramp up, expecting to handle over 1,550 units in 2027 and reaching 3,000 units in 2028. The total volume is anticipated to exceed 10,000 kits by the end of 2030.
From the Marly-la-Ville site, CEVA will deliver the ready-to-use kits across mainland France to certified partner garages. These garages are responsible for converting commercial vehicles belonging to local authorities and private companies.
Crucially, CEVA will also leverage its unique expertise in vehicle preparation by installing the retrofit kits on used commercial vehicles directly at two of its Fleet & Logistics Vehicle (FLV) sites in France: Blyes and Marly-la-Ville. This demanding service requires qualified professionals with mechanical and electrical expertise to remove the existing combustion powertrain and fuel tank, replacing them with a new electric motor and battery pack.
Supporting French Decarbonization Goals
The partnership reflects the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions in France, where over one million fully electric passenger vehicles were registered in 2024. SANCEV’s solution provides a crucial alternative to new vehicle purchases, extending the life cycle of existing assets.
Amaury Montay, Contract Logistics France Director, CEVA Logistics, noted that they are delighted to bring their logistics expertise and deep knowledge of the automotive industry to support SANCEV’s business growth, calling the low-carbon retrofit solution “innovative and aligned with our commitment to sustainability.”
Stéphane Durand, Co-founder of SANCEV, added that having a value-added preparation and delivery service available throughout France is a key asset for their kit assembly operations, ensuring they can meet client needs across the country with a high level of service.
