Mercedes-AMG C 63 CANCELLED | Four-Cylinder PHEV Scrapped After Just a Few Years | AutoNext

the C63E performance might already be coming to an end. And whilst you might think, yes, we’re getting rid of that four-cylinder. To be honest, like it it’s a bit of a misunderstood car, it’s actually one of the best chassis ever. And it’s an engineering marvel to see this many horsepower pushed out of a four-cylinder with a hybrid setup. Granted, yeah, I do agree the V8 should have been there, but now it seems like it’s already going. And the the reason why internally they’re saying Mercedes is it’s not meeting EU sound regulations because everything you know in Europe they say sound is the biggest uh health hazard that we’ve seen everywhere and blah blah blah and everything is getting more quiet and apparently that’s why they’re stopping early next year with the C63 and the GLC63 because it’s not meeting noise regulations. Seems a bit weird. Might be something different, but who knows?

The controversial four-cylinder plug-in-hybrid Mercedes-AMG C63 is officially dead. According to a leaked internal memo, Mercedes will end production in 2026, after the model failed to win over fans and struggled under new EU noise regulations.

The memo shows the C 63, GLC 63, C 43, GLC 43 and GLA 35 will all be discontinued due to stricter UNECE noise limits, which make high-output 4-cylinder AMGs increasingly difficult to certify. The only survivor? The GLA45+.

And now comes the big news: Mercedes is reportedly working on a next-generation C 63 with a bigger, more emotional engine. No confirmation of a V8… but insiders strongly hint at a high-performance V6 paired with hybrid tech.
