How-To: The BMW Multifunction Charger.
This is the BMW Multifunction Charger. A new mobile and flexible BMW charging solution for multiple charging and also discharging uses at home and on the go. On one side, it has a mode two charging plug with a six meter long charging cable, enough for practically all charging situations. The cable is directly connected to the new function box. It’s small, it’s light, and it connects to multiple adapters. You can connect a household adapter specific to your country for home charging or anywhere you get access to a household socket. This way, you can charge your BMW with the usual household voltage and for example, with up to 2.3 kW of AC charging power in Europe. Or use the available high voltage Mode two adapter for high power AC charging anywhere you have access to a high voltage socket in Europe. This provides up to 11 kW of AC charging power. The new charging adapter mode three turns the Multifunction Charger into a mobile public charging cable that you can plug into your BMW and into any public AC charging station. This way, it provides up to 11kW of charging power. And with the new generation of battery electric BMWs the new discharging adapter vehicle to load for the Multifunction Charger now lets you discharge power directly from the high voltage battery. Transforming your BMW into a mobile power bank. You can use it to power multiple devices like an e-bike or an electric grill, for example, whenever and wherever you need it. With up to 3.7 kW. You’re going to experience a new level of flexibility.
Get to know the flexible all-in-one solution for most everyday BMW Charging purposes. Thanks to multiple adapters, you can use the BMW Multifunction Charger wih all BMW Battery Electric and Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles for AC home charging at household sockets and high-votage outlets as well as for public charging at AC charging stations. With the new generation of BMW Battery Electric Vehicles the BMW Multifunction Charger can also be used for vehicle-to-load bidirectional charging.

Charging and discharging possible. Charging with the Multifunction Charger is only available for the new BMW iX3. The prerequisite is the optional AC Charging Professional equipment. The Multifunction Charger and AC Charging Professional are available for order optionally and depending on the model and market starting from 01/26.
