This might be the best so far…// 2026 Cadillac VISTIQ review

We’ve got the 2026 Cadillac Vistic. Bless you. His dad joke. You ready, Zach? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. We’re in the fish stick. So, quiet Vistique. Andrea, this is the full electric three row SUV from Cadillac. What’s under the floor of this thing? 102 kWh battery with up to 491 kilometers, 305 miles of range, 615 horsepower, and 650 pound feet of torque. Standard all-wheel drive. It goes 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. The Vistique is made in Tennessee. We’re going to get into the key standard features. I’m just right off the top, Andrea, saying I think this bodess well for the GMC, Chevrolet, and Buick versions of this that are still to come. This is really well done. Right now, we’re in the base model. What do you get? What are the key standard features? The base trim comes with a 33in diagonal LED display with Google built-in, a 23 speakeraker AKG studio audio system with Dolby Atmos wireless charger, heated steering wheel, front bucket seats, heated and ventilated front seats, eight-way power front seats, power driver and front passenger massage, driver seat memory, a panoramic sunroof, heated rear seats, and auto sense power liftgate. We’re we’re in a bit of bumper-to-bumper traffic here. It gives us a moment to reflect on the Vistique, Andrea, and how smooth it feels in bumperto-bumper traffic. Although we are on a very smooth road, we have found that the suspension is a little bit firmer than suspected. It does come standard with four-wheel independent sport suspension. M. So, it is a little bit firmer, but other than that, I have to say it’s smooth, quiet, you’ve got that big, heavy battery. It feels very planted. Everything that you would expect from an electric vehicle, but it’s not all loose and vague, right? So, to the point of it having a slightly firm suspension, it actually has what I would call a European sort of driving feel to it. I think it’s very well done. I’ I’ve been saying this for years. I believe that General Motors is one of the best at doing suspension calibration. They know what they’re doing. This thing actually feels quality and when you’re in it, I think this might be my favorite three row electric SUV so far. Yeah, it’s really well done. It definitely moves to the top of the list if this is something that you can afford. It does get up there in price like other luxury electric vehicles. The base model we have comes with continuous damping control, active noise cancellation, remote start, remote keyless entry, super cruise, adaptive cruise control, and HD surround vision. Now, there is available air ride, adaptive suspension, and active rear steering. But what I like about it is it’s it’s very well designed. Uh the interior we’re going to talk more about in just a moment. It’s basically what you would get with a three row midsize SUV. Not the body-onframe Escalade. That’s way too expensive and way too over the top. This is really what people buy. And if you want a luxury mark, Cadillac has nailed it. The latest General Motors electric vehicles are selling incredibly well because I think they’ve done a lot of homework and they’re well, really well thought out. And coming up halfway through the show in questions, coffee and cars, we actually have a question about the Vistique and how it’s doing in sales compared to the Escalade IQ. I think that EVs are the hardest to review because they all have inherent similarities, low center of gravity, fairly quiet. You add on the layers of what the brand is trying to do in terms of style, interior, and in Cadillac’s case, they make it quieter. And we’re coming up to fairly uh moderate speeds here. But before we do that, nice center controller by the way, Andrea. What can we put it in? Got to put it in S for subscribing. If you can hit that notification bell, you’ll be notified when all of our reviews drop and then you can watch them. And we do this the copy twice a week. The first one drops on Wednesday. We put another one out on Saturday. So make sure if you could do us any kind of favor at all, subscribing is the number one thing you can do. Foot to the floor, Andrea. Look at this. Oh yeah. flowing back hair. Yeah. And this thing is That’s right. Andrew, did you notice that? I did. Zach, yours is just flowing. If you go any faster, my toup pay would come right off. I’m just like floored by the amount of power this thing has. Yeah. I mean, that’s the great thing about electric vehicles. This is big. It has a third row, but you’re never going to feel that lack of power. And that’s why people will buy EVs. They get a high from that instant acceleration. There’s a bus here. I was just going to say if you could pop over there. Well, we got a slow poke in the fast lane right now. So, if we if he moves along. No, I just wanted to get on this bumpy bit here. I’ll I’ll uh just just a little bit cuz we’ve only got like a little bit. So, this is the bumpiest part of this road. And we have massive wheels on this. And this is this is what I was saying about General Motors. Like they do this stuff well. They do do it well. I do find when I go over speed bumps, there’s a bit of a bouncy feel. Uh that’s the big battery. Uh but overall it’s just so comfortable. You know, the brakes even feel really good. They’re not mushy in any way. And the steering isn’t super light. And boy, you can turn this thing on a dime. And it doesn’t even have the active rear steering. I just have a question for you, Andrea. It’s got the Cadillac crest there on the steering wheel. It’s a Cadillac. Cadillac means something. Yeah. Um to a lot of people, especially older generation, they really remember Cadillac of yesterday. Mhm. Does this feel like a premium brand? For sure. You think so? For sure. The other thing is I’m getting into premium brands like BMW and uh MercedesBenz and Audi with their electric vehicles and you know, the interiors are just kind of okay on some of them depending on the model. Yeah, they cheap out in some ways. Okay, speaking of uh good looks, Andrea, I like the direction not just Cadillac, but General Motors as a company is going with a lot of their new models. I think their styling department is hitting it out of the park. This thing looks great. It looks like a conventional three row SUV with a little bit of a modern twist. Oh, I I think they’re have nailed it with the styling. It’s bold. It has a great presence on the road. I love that the grill illuminates. You’ve got the crest also illuminating. You know what? You can see this vehicle as it approaches you. It just looks great. And they’ve kept all of their electric vehicles kind of looking like other vehicles in their fleet. It looks like a convent didn’t go weird. One thing though, I will say bat the bat the D-pillar down the side. They’ve got this motif in the glass. If you ever remember years ago when people would get cheap tinting on the windows and they would have bubbles in it. Yes. To me from a distance now you probably won’t be able to unsee it, but to me from a distance it looks like the tinting on the inside is peeling away. Well, there you go. We’ll have to uh keep an eye keep an eye on that. Do you guys agree with that? Yeah. The Vistique gets 7.2 2 in of ground clearance and comes standard with Cadillac signature vertical LED headlamps with lighting choreography, LED front cornering lamps, LED tail lamps, black body side moldings, bright window surround, black roof rails that are removable, powerfolding exterior mirrors, standard 21-in wheels with self-sealing tires available 22in and 23 in. The top trim adds Brembo front brakes and there’s an available black roof if you choose. Well, Andre and I just switched seats and coming out of that side and getting into this side. One thing we forgot to mention about the outside, Andrea, and that’s the stupid floppy door handles. Don’t love them. Andrea and I are having a really hard time figuring out how to lock this thing without using the key fob. I think that’s operator error to be honest with you, but it’s not it’s not intuitive. No, it’s not. We’ve we’ve been going like this, sliding it, touching it, trying to figure it out. Anyway, we’re we’re using the key fob. But yes, obviously there is a way to do it. We just haven’t quite figured it out yet. That’s a problem. Okay, so now we turn our attention to the inside. And this is when you get in, you go, “Oh, it’s a Cadillac. It’s pretty swish in here.” Beautiful materials. You’ve got this silver in front of me, a very minimal, shiny hard plastic. They use it as an accent. And they have a carbon weave on the side. on the doors. It’s really well done. It looks elegant. It’s modern. I think that the screen looks very streamlined and clean. I like the look. The floating center console. There’s lots of storage. So, you’ve got storage on the bottom. This unit is quite large. The door pockets are large. And then I like the HVAC screen, which you see in Range Rover that’s separated from the top screen. It’s just easy to use and everything is at your fingertips. Yeah, the big screens, we’ve seen these before um in lots of other General Motors products. Uh it it works and they I’ve I’ve been saying also for years about GM. Their infotainment systems are easy to use from 18 to 80. You’ll be able to figure this out in a very short order. So, they still got a rotary wheel here in the center if that’s your jam and a volume rocker switch there. So, they kind of got all bases covered. Yeah. And the graphics are really clean and they’re bright. Uh, I really like that about this system. There is a column shifter similar to MercedesBenz, which every time I get in vehicles with a column shifter, I tend to put the window wipers on. Uh, no, it’s when you switch out of this and you get in a car that doesn’t have it, you turn the And we had a a Porsche this this week and it doesn’t have this, so I keep on turning on the wiper. I know because it has a weird shifter in that one. Anyway, um I like the design elements. Overall, it’s so comfortable. You know what? This has got a power driver and passenger adjustable lumbar support. So, everybody says, Andrea always talks about thigh support. Yeah, thigh support’s important to me, and this has got it. So, when you’re going on a long trip, you’re going to find that this is a comfortable vehicle to take for the family. Yeah. And and like I said at the beginning, I can’t wait to see what they do for Buick, GMC, and Chevrolet because it’s going to be essentially the same thing. Obviously, not the same materials, but it bodess well for what they have planned for those products. And look at Equinox and Blazer EVs already. They’re very good and they’re selling well on the Chevrolet side. So, there’s 126 color ambient lighting. All those colors. I’m color blind. I won’t see all that. You’ve got 5G connectivity. And if you’re wondering about bench seat versus captain’s chairs, the two base models offer both. So, you have that choice. But the two top trims, just captain’s chairs, and we’re seeing that across the industry. So, what we have today is actually the base model. There are some additional available features, though. You can get dual front wireless chargers, augmented reality head-up display, night vision, and vehicle-tome charging. This is a three row SUV, right in the meat of the market. When you get in the second row, I notice the second row seats don’t have a ton of leg room. You get excellent headroom, though. They do slide four and a half. How does this stack up? The Vistique has 43.1 in of front row legroom and 40.2 in of second row legroom. Getting into the third row, not that tricky. Uh, your knees are at a certain angle. They’re pointing up towards the roof. You do get an extra moon roof in the back, which is kind of cool, but once you’re in, it’s pretty comfortable. Third row legroom is 30.6 in. Opening up the power lift gate, you’ll see a pretty useful storage area when all these seats are up. Underneath though, there is a large bin. That’s where you would store your charging cable or any extras. And the seats at the back are all power operated to go down, which is great. Cargo space behind the third row is 15.2 cubic feet. Behind the second row, 43 cubic feet and overall cargo space is 80.2 cubic feet. And for those who like a panoramic sunroof that opens, this does. All right, let’s get into the questions about this Cadillac. Time now for questions, coffee, and cars. Your questions from Instagram. Very nice exterior and interior. My biggest negatives have to be the loss of wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in favor of belting Google. Also, no second row ventilated seats and even manual sun shades at this price point. Yes, I looked it up. I was like, really? No ventilated rear seats because we don’t have the top trim, but you’re right. I do not see it online. And you’re right again, there is no sun shade. Uh, but the window is tinted. So, this is power operated. We’re talking about the rear side windows. They’re tinted. It’s not a big deal. I think it’s because the rear seats flip and fold to get the ventilated feature in there. maybe a little trickier because it does move. Um, so that might be a reason. Here’s the news flash. General Motors has announced that I’m not sure when they’re switching, but all of their vehicles right now, Apple and Android, not on electric cars, but they’re doing that for all of their vehicles uh shortly. So, get used to it. And they believe that they have a system that works just as well. Mhm. And there’s other brands like Tesla and Rivian who do not have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. And look how popular Tesla has become around the world. Um, I find that the system is easy enough to use. You can add your apps. And guess what? In the world of EVs, I’m going to use Canada. The Equinox EV is the number one seller and it doesn’t have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. So, um, you know, some people are just not bothered by it. Maybe it just ends up coming down to price and what’s affordable. How’s the sales performance of this compared to the Escalade? I have a feeling luxury buyers in the full-size class are still inclined to go for a gas model. Well, we asked the dealer where we picked this up about the sales of the IQ, which is the electric version. I know you’re talking about gas of the Escalade, and he says they sell one here and there. He said this is the one that’s actually moving. Cadillac as a brand has had some of the best sales they’ve had in decades in the last few years on the back of their electrified portfolio. So, as people turn away from maybe Tesla, they’re looking for a luxury electric vehicle. Cadillac is coming up the winner. There’s no official numbers for Vistique, but it’s great to hear from a dealership. So, number one seller is the Lyric followed by the Optic and then the IQ. Yes, sales are up. In fact, Cadillac says that they have new buyers to the brand for their EVs coming from the luxury category. So, they are absolutely thrilled with what they are producing. And General Motors generally is conquest, it’s called conquesting when you bring people out of another brand. General Motors is conquesting a lot of people who have never driven a General Motors product because of EVs. Hey, if you want to get a question in, don’t be shy. Follow along on Instagram. It’s motormouth_andrea. You also see what’s going on behind the scenes. Mine is motormouth_auto and the links are below the like button. It’s very nice, but I find the price in Canada is very steep. I’m curious to see how it ends up doing in our market. Yeah, I I think that when you see a price point for the base model of $95,000, you go, “Wow.” But EVs are expensive. And when you start looking at luxury brands, they’re more than this. Or you look at a top trim Kia EV9 or the Hyundai IonX 9 and guess what? It’s at $85,000. Yeah. And and they’re not a luxury brand. So I I would I would agree and disagree. I think that um having driven this now for a week, you get a lot of car. This is we’re in basically the base model, right? This is a lot of car for the money and you do get a luxury feel to it. I I think that it sure it’s expensive, but luxury cars are expensive and I think you would be satisfied with the base model at the 95,000. It’s a lot of money. I agree with you. News flash, nobody should be paying retail for these cars. Any EV, the car companies have to put money on the hood to move them. So, if you’re thinking about getting a Cadillac and you like the idea of going electric, don’t pay full retail. There will always be cheap leasing discounts or something. No one’s paying full retail or you shouldn’t. And when it comes to an EV, there is money on the hood. There’s low interest rates. So, always always keep that in mind. And now it’s time for our hot topic. Andrea, I’m dying to know what’s this one. Large and in charge. Sharp looking. Wonder if it’ll have the same depreciation as other EVs. Well, Andrea, I checked this morning on Amazon and our crystal ball is still not in yet. So, we’re going to have to wait on that. Nobody knows the future. If you look at the trend though, electric vehicles just do not hold their value as well as conventional vehicles. That is just a fact of life. Yeah, I think depreciation is a factor just because of the higher price point. It’s a luxury vehicle, uh, as we always say, the higher the price, typically the higher they fall. There is one vehicle that I am interested to see how it all plays out. What’s that? Tell me. That is the MercedesBenz Gwagon EV. Will it hold its value a little better than some of the others because it’s a G Wagon? We wait and see. Have to wait and see. All right, vital stats on this like charging and more. Let’s start with pricing. We’ll do Canada first and then move on to the US. The base luxury model starts at just under $965,000 and the top platinum just over 125,000. In the US, the base luxury is just over 79,000 and the top trim is just over 98,000. The Vistique comes in 11.5 kW onboard charger. With a level two charger, you’ll gain about 47 km or 29 mi in about an hour. With an available 19.2 kW onboard charger, 76 km or 47 m in 1 hour at a DC fast charger with that larger 19.2 2 kW onboard charger and speeds up to 190 kW. You’ll gain 129 km or 80 mi in just 10 minutes. The Vistique is equipped with an available NACS DC adapter. This Cadillac can tow 5,000 lb and the warranty is 4 years, 80,000 km or 50,000 m. Lightning round. Two things we like. Two things we like to see improved. Well, I love the styling of Cadillac models. I really want people to try this. I think you’ll be impressed like us. What I’d like to see improved is uh those floppy door handles. It’s just like a solid one. Yeah, I I This thing’s so well done. They did a great job. Ditch those door handles. There it is. It’s the Vestique Fish Stick. Fish stick. That’s how I remember the name. I go fish stickick. All right. So, what do you guys think of that? Thanks for watching and if you like what you see, make sure you subscribe. We’ll see you next time.
