Big unveil from Tata Motors who showed the production version of the Sierra in Mumbai. In terms of design, the Sierra is quite similar to the concepts we have seen so far. The squared off front end has a rectangular grill finished in gloss black. The EV will have a different face. It rides on 19-in wheels and features flush door handles. The highlight, however, is the wraparound treatment on the rear side windows, hawking back to the original. Round back, a strip of LED lighting serves as a tail light, while the power tailgate opens to a large boot. The biggest talking point of the interior is the triple screen setup that stretches across the dash. Tata hasn’t shared the features list, but we spotted powered seats with a memory function and ventilation, a wireless charger, and a soundbar on the dashboard. The rear seat back recines and also gets headrest for all passengers, sunlines, and a sunroof that stretches almost the entire roof. Engine specs and prices are still under wraps, but we expect three engines to be offered. a 1.5 L naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5 L turbo petrol, and a 1.5 L turbo diesel. However, to confirm this and the prices, we will have to wait for the launch on November 25th. Marauti Suzuki will launch the much anticipated EVAR SUV on December 2nd. As per sources, the Evitara’s price announcement was expected earlier this year, but it has been delayed due to battery supply and software challenges. This is Maruti’s first EV for India and it is produced exclusively at its factory in Gujarat. About 7,000 units have already been shipped overseas since August with the UK being the top importer. Internationally, it gets two battery options, 49 and 61 kW hours, powering an electric motor at the front. The larger unit can also be optioned with a dual motor setup. The front-wheel drive makes 144 horsepower with the smaller battery and 174 horsepower with the larger unit. The all-wheel drive version makes 184 horsepower. On the WLTP cycle, the 61 kWh frontwheel drive returns 428 km followed by the all-wheel drive at 394. The entrylevel 49 kWh variant has a 344 km range. We expect the 49 kWh variant to be priced around the 20 lakh mark while the bigger 61 kWh version will cost around rupees 25 lakh when it launches in December. Audi has launched new signature line packages for the Q3, Q3 Sportback and Q5 that adds exterior and interior accessories at no additional cost. Here is a look at the price list. The package includes Audi logo welcome lamps, decals, floating wheel center caps, and a metallic key cover. The Q3 and Q3 Sportback get new 18-in wheels, and a progressive red color option, while the Q5 gets 19-in wheels finished in graphite gray. On the inside, all signature line models get a fragrance dispenser and stainless steel pedal covers. The Q3 and Q3 Sportback additionally get park assist plus and two rear USB ports. Tata Motors has launched the updated Curve and Curve EV with feature additions and a new dual tone interior theme only on the higher trim levels. Both ICE and EV versions of the Curve now get dual zone climate control, perforated rear seats with pockets that fill with air every time the occupants move, rear sun shades, an armrest with integrated cup holders, and a new white carbon fiber trim. There’s also a new dual tone interior theme with leatherrett seats. The Curve EV also gets a winged headrest and an elevated footrest. These updates have been made to the accomplished trim of the Ice Curve and the empowered and accomplished trims of the Curve EV. Powertrains continue unchanged. The Curve gets three engine options, a 1.2 L turbo petrol, a second 1.2 L direct injection turbo petrol, and a 1.5 L diesel. Meanwhile, the Curve EV is powered by either 45 or a 55 kWh battery pack. The updated Porsche 911 Turbo S is now available in India at a starting price of rupees 3.8 cr before options. The most powerful 911 yet features a 3.6 L twinturbo flat 6 hybrid powertrain with a total output of 711 horsepower and 800 new m. It sends this power to all four wheels via the 8-speed dualclutch automatic, rocketing to 100 kph in 2.5 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 322 kph. The new Turbo S also gets carbon ceramic brakes, a 6.8 kg lighter sports exhaust system with a titanium muffler and the latest version of Porsche dynamic chassis control. Thanks to these upgrades, it holds a Nurburgring lap time of 7 minutes 3.92 seconds, 14 seconds quicker than the previous model. Maserati has launched three new electric cars in India. Let’s start with the Falgore versions of the Gran Turismo Coupe and the Grand Cabrio priced at rupees 3.05 and rupes 3.18 cr respectively. Both cars are identical underneath the skin, featuring an 83 kWh battery pack powering three electric motors, one on the front axle and two at the rear. Combined output is 761 horsepower with a temporary boost to 829 horsepower possible and 1,350 Newton m. 0 to 100 takes 2.7 seconds in the coupe, while the 90 kg heavier Grand Cabrio does it in 2.8 seconds. Maserati claims a 450 km range for the Gran Turismo, while the Grand Cabrio manages 447. Both Folgore models can be charged at up to 270 kW. Visually, the EV Falgore models aren’t different to the ice powered siblings. The EVs get revised bumpers, Falgore badging, and different alloy wheels, but otherwise retain design cues, including the oval grill with the Maserati Trident emblem. The Cababrio comes with a fabric roof that can be lowered or raised in 14 seconds at up to 50 kph. The interiors are identical too with two plus two seating. The dash features a 12.2 in digital drivers display, a pair of screens that handle infotainment and in-car controls, and a digital clock. Maserati also launched the Graale Fulgore electric SUV at rupees 1.89 cr. That’s 10 lakhs cheaper than the top iceo version. It gets a 105 kWh battery pack with all-wheel drive. Combined output is 550 horsepower and 820 Nm, hauling the 2,480 kg EV from 0 to 100 in 4.1 seconds. Top speed is 220 kph. It can DC fast charge at 150 kW and has a claim range of 501 km. The EV is differentiated by redesigned bumpers, bronzecoled brake calibers, and new designs for the alloy wheels. Inside, it’s similar to the petrol Gala with a 12.3 in driver’s display, a 12.3 in central touchscreen, and an 8.8 in touchscreen for the climate controls. The Gracali Fulgore competes with the Porsche Macan EV priced between rupees 1.21 and 1.72 cr. In two-heer news, Yamaha showed a host of new products starting with the XSR55 launched at a price of Rs 1.5 lakh. That’s 5,000 rupees less than the base MT15. Powering it is the same 155 C single-cylinder liquid cooled engine as the R15 and MT15 producing 18.4 horsepower and 14.1 Newton mated to a six-speed gearbox. It also shares the Delta Box frame and is suspended by a USD fork and a monoshock at the rear. Curb weight is 137 kgs, 4 kgs less than the MT15s. At 120 mm, the ground clearance is lower by 50 mm. What differentiates the XSR is its neo retro styling. It gets a round LED headlamp and tail lamp and a 10 L teardrop shaped tank and a flat single piece seat. Safety kit includes dual channel ABS and traction control. However, the bike gets an LCD dash instead of the TFT display that is now available on most of Yamaha’s products. Yamaha also launched the FZ Rave at rupees 1.17 lakh. It is powered by the same 149cc single cylinder air cooled motor as the other FZ models making 12.4 horsepower and 13.3 new m of torque made to the same 5-speed gearbox. The 136 kg curb weight, 13 L fuel tank, and 790 mm seat height also stays identical. The only change is a new edgy LED headlight. Yamaha also showed two electric scooters. The first is based on the River Indie and called the EC06. It is powered by a 4 kWh battery powering a 6.7 kW motor specs that are identical to the Indie. The chassis is also very similar as is the feature set which comprises a LCD color display, three riding modes and reverse assist. Yamaha claims an IDC range of 160 km but fully charging it takes approximately 9 hours. The Yamaha also has a smaller boot 24.5 L compared to the Indy’s 43 L bin. The EC06 also has a very different styling with a boxier and sharper design compared to the Indy’s more fluid rounded looks. Yamaha hasn’t revealed prices for the EC06, but we expect it to be priced similar to the Indie which costs rupees 1.46 lakh in Bengaluru. Yamaha also showed an electric version of the Aerox called the Aerox E. It features dual 1.5 kWh detachable batteries that Yamaha claims are packed with high energy type cells for performance. It has a certified range of 106 km and a curb weight of 139 kgs. That’s 13 kgs heavier than the base Aerox 155. Visually, it is similar to the Ice Aerox, but it gets a TFT dash with appbased connectivity. And that’s a wrap for quick news this week. Thank you so much for watching. We’ll see you again next week.
