THE HYBRID FAD IS DEAD! China EV Sales UP 20% As Plug-in Hybrids Keep Falling

The hybrid hysteria. It’s finished, guys. It’s It’s over. In China, the world’s largest car market by a mile. Well, e-revs, both of them, their popularity is going down month after month after month. It’s only EV sales that are propping up, right? The headlines. The headlines say new energy vehicle sales in China hit records. It’s EV sales that are doing all the hard work. EV sales in the month of October were up more than 20% versus last year. Whereas hybrids, FEVs and e-revs were down, I believe, the third straight month in a row. The hybrid game, guys, I’m sorry, but it’s sort of a fad. Have a look at Norway. How many FBS and ERs do you see people in Norway buying? Yeah, same thing’s happening in China. Now, you can’t just say, well, China’s not a very big country. I mean, yeah, actually it’s massive and people do drive a fair way in China. Hello, my friends. Welcome to the channel. I’m Sam Evans. You’re watching the Electric Viking. And I’ve got to say, you know, in China, you can get E-Revs and Febs for ridiculously low prices. Uh, some of J’s new Galaxy FVS, they’re just crazy cheap. I mean, staggering. Basically like a Toyota Camry, but it’s a FEV. more luxurious for $11,000. I mean, and and FEVs and e-rev sales are going down, right? So, it’s not because there isn’t great product at great prices and the product is improving as well. That’s the thing. That’s the thing here, right? Uh if you compare the product one year ago, ves one year ago, what was the charging speed? Yeah. Well, what were the charging speeds? Like 50 kilowatt, some of the 30 kow, just absolute Just absolute garbage. I really do not understand people going out and saying, “Oh, I have $70,000 here. I’m going to go and buy myself a car with that can charge at 30 kW.” I mean, to me, I think do your homework. Are you Are you crazy? You’re going to spend that much money on a car that charges that slowly? I I think it’s craziness. Now, if your only choice is to buy, say, Australia or Thailand or something, uh, a pickup truck, a U, then I Yeah, you’re in a different category. is there very little choice in that segment. But every other segment, it makes no sense at all. None. It really does not. Anyway, let’s look at these numbers from China here, guys. You can see the clear decline in hybrid car sales. And I mean, the market is up. It’s up this year versus last year, but hybrid car sales have actually gone been below last year now for four straight months in a row. And the the gap is growing. So for the last three months they were below but not by a lot. But in October you can see that gap is now increasing versus last year. And many people are saying um experts in China are saying this is the beginning of a continual decline for the sales of hybrids in China. People are saying to themselves why the do I need a hybrid? One of the most complicated vehicles ever made by humankind and one of the most fireprone vehicles ever made by humankind. They are fireprone. If you’ve got one, you can unsubscribe if you want to, but the facts are they are like 50 times more likely to catch fire than any other vehicle type, particularly than EVs, which are the least likely to catch fire of any car. So, yeah, I mean, the facts are that EVs are better. And why do you need more than 600 km of range? I mean, now you can get more than that if you really want it, but why do you need more than that? Now, you might be saying to yourself, well, I drive from Melbourne to Sydney. I need more range than that. I’ll be I’ll be saying to you, well, I’ve done that trip probably 10 times now. Newcastle to Melbourne, that’s one thou more than 1,000 km one way. And we’ve got a pretty average charging network. But I’ve done it no problems. No problems at all. And you’ve got to go to the toilet. No one’s going to drive more than 500 km without stopping. No one does that, right? Without stopping. More than 500 km. That’s extremely rare. Why would you even want to do that anyway? You want to eat, you want to go to the toilet, right? It’s just we’re humans. So, this is what I’m trying to say. A mature car market like Norway, people don’t buy hybrids. It’s that simple. So, the depreciation in the a lot of hybrids that exist today, people are buying today and they got 70 km of range, 50 km of EV on the range, charge at 30 kW DC. Depreciation on those cars is going to be astronomical for a few reasons. One, people are moving to EVs in mature car markets. Two, the ability of these newer E-Revs of FEVs is so much better. It’s like light years ahead. We’re talking charging speeds that are 8 to 10 times faster. EV only ranges that are much much longer. For one, China has mandated now that to qualify for incentives in in the country, EV only range has to be a minimum of 100 km minimum. Otherwise, you don’t get any incentive. So all these FEBs and E-Revs coming out of China, which most of them are now, and most of them will be in the future from even the main brands like Japanese brands, etc., they will have to have a minimum of 100 km of range. So if you buy an e-rev 60 km of range, it’s basically obsolete as of today, right now. It’s already obsolete. Guys, I use PowerShock my electricity to charge my EV for free between 12 and 2:00 during the day. I’ll put a link in the description. If you sign up with them, you get $170 discount to sign up. Also, my solar and batteries. I’ve got a 50 kilowatt hour battery here, and I’ve got a big solar array. So, I pay $0 for electricity. That’s including charging my electric car. Reync Solar is the company that I used. I’ll put a link to them in the description below. Anyway, looking at these numbers, you can see that um electric cars have taken a higher market share of the new energy vehicle market than they ever have before. They’ve grown by 20.4% year-over-year. Um whereas hybrids have gone down by 10% year-over-year. That’s a pretty big change. Yeah. Hybrid sales, uh FEVs and e-revy vehicles in there as well, but they’re like, I don’t know, three or something. uh they were 469,000 in October. Electric car sales were 812,000. So clearly you can see here EVs take the majority of the market share. It’s about 60% market share just slightly more than 60%. But that is increasing. Obviously those numbers are going up. Now I just want to finish by saying one thing. Kudos to you guys in China. I think that um you guys aren’t afraid. You’re not being brainwashed by a bunch of wankers on Facebook telling you all this misinformation. People on Facebook who have been brainwashed. I I strongly encourage that if you’re highly susceptible to other people to their misinformation. Do not go on Facebook because there is thousands of posts on there that are just lying. I’m not talking about lying about EVs necessarily. Some of them are lying about EVs. They’re lying about everything. They’re lying about EVs by saying stuff like this, right? World EV News said that 70% of all cars sold in Europe are electric. 70%. That’s what they said. There’s a post on Facebook right now. 70%. Wow. Congratulations, Europe. This is amazing. Now, they counted, which are vehicles that have a tiny little hybridized thing that decreases fuel use by about 0.5%. Nothing. They’re not even like that’s not electric car. That is a joke. Yeah. So, this is one example of the numerous amounts of misinformation that are littered all over Facebook. Don’t go on there. It’s just talking a bunch of crap. And some of it’s pro Eevee, some of it’s against EVs, some of it’s pro renewables, some of it’s against renewables. All of it’s just basically nonsense. You got to fact check everything on there. Every time I see something on there, I fact check it because I’m just otherwise you just end up believing stuff that is completely nonsensical. So clearly people are being influenced by a lot of the anti-EV stuff particularly in countries like America, the United States and and Australia where EV sales are still relatively low. And in China, people are clearly not being brainwashed by the stuff because their EV sales continue to go up every year, every month. And they’ve got hundreds of models of E-Revs and Febs, and they’re moving away from them and buying the smarter choice, which is a fully electric car. Thanks for watching.

THE HYBRID FAD IS DEAD! China EV Sales UP 20% As Plug-in Hybrids Keep Falling

China’s EV market is accelerating again — pure electric vehicle sales jumped 20% year-over-year, while plug-in hybrid (PHEV) demand continues to slide. Consumers are clearly shifting toward long-range, fast-charging BEVs as new models from BYD, Xpeng, and Zeekr dominate the market.
