First look at Honda’s new full-size electric motorcycle #honda #ev #motorcycle #electricvehicle
Honda has finally pulled back the curtain on its first full-size electric motorcycle, the WN7. While it’s not exactly a touring capable motorcycle, it’s a lot more than a scooter or ebike. Honda designed the WN7 as a naked street bike with a peak output of 67 horsepower, putting it in a very similar performance class to a 650cc Naked like the Kawasaki Z650. And with 100 new meters of torque, it even rivals leader class bikes in terms of torque. One of the more interesting engineering decisions is the frameless chassis. Instead of a traditional motorcycle frame, Honda uses the rigid aluminum battery case itself as a central structural element. This design not only cuts way, but it also improves handling by centralizing the mass. In addition, the fixed 9.3 kWh battery supports both CCS2 fast charging from 20 to 80% in 30 minutes and type 2 charging as well with a claimed range of 87 m per charge under WMTC standards.
