This bike, even with its “character-building” range, could be the most important electric motorcycle ever made. It’s the one that could take electric motorcycles from being a niche novelty for early adopters to being a normal, everyday choice for regular riders. It’s the bike your neighbor, who’s only ever ridden a Honda Rebel, might actually consider.
It’s also a sign that the Japanese “Big Four” are finally taking this whole EV situation seriously. Sorry, Kawasaki, your little electric Ninjas are cute, but with their modest top speeds, they feel more like a polite suggestion than a real statement. Honda appears to be walking in with a full-throated declaration.
Unfortunately, the new Honda won’t be the lightning-fast, continent-crossing electric dream machine we’ve all been waiting for. But it will be a Honda. That means it will be ridiculously well-made, reliable as the sunrise, and it will probably start a revolution without even trying. I will be glued to my screen on September 2nd, popcorn in hand. This is going to be fun.
