Omoda 9 Plug-In Hybrid Review | 1100km Range, Luxury Interior & EV Tech at Sydney EV Show 2025
Hi, lovely to have you here. Welcome to the
Electro Revolution channel. My name is Michael and I’m a car and tech enthusiast. In this episode,
we’re going to go through the Omoda 9. Now, this is the second part of a multi-part series where we
actually went and visited the Sydney EV Motor Show that occurred on Friday the 31st of October 2025
up until Sunday the 2nd of November 2025. Now, it was a great show and it’s the first time we
actually filmed at one of these events. Now, if you haven’t watched the first episode, I
invite you to go watch that because there we covered the Porsche Taycan, the McLaren Artura,
the Ferrari SF90, the Rolls-Royce Spectre, the Lamborghini Revuelto, the Ferrari 296 GTP,
and the Lotus Eletre. Very nice sports cars. Now, most of them, of course, were hybrid, but
nevertheless, they still got battery packs in them. So, in today’s episode, we’re going
to cover the Omoda 9, both internal, external, and give our comments and feelings about this
particular vehicle. So, I really hope you enjoy this episode. Where we are now is with the
Omoda 9. It says here it’s four power drive, three motor, and one engine power. So, what
we’ve got is with this likely plug-in hybrid, 395 kW combined power, 1100 km range. That is
really huge. But what you’d expect in these types of hybrids and a pretty quick 4.9
seconds from 0 to 100. That is actually very quick. And what do we see here? The all
electric range is 169, which is quite good. It means it actually has quite a bigger battery
than what you’d expect in a similar car. So, let’s try and go around. Now, it is a EV show, so
you’ll always find, you know, the general public, but that’s fine. Let’s try and go around the
vehicle and just take a look at the vehicle. Yeah, this is the internal.
I’ll see if I can get round to the driver’s side. If you give me a minute. So, what I see here immediately as soon as
I sit into the vehicle is literally comfort. I’m actually very comfortable in this seat and I
haven’t actually adjusted it yet for my height or uh my certain uh specifics. But also what I see
straight away is a massive massive screen and it looks like it’s split into two, one section there
and one section there. And of course this looks like all the basic things or the applications
you’d normally get in a vehicle. It is quite you know “airy”. I would say because it
seems like from the upper level here, there’s actually a lot of room, but
this console is actually quite huge and it takes up a good section of the middle
part of the car. But as we can see here, it’s got a great great area underneath for
keeping your phones or things like that. Now, I see here possibly dual chargers. There’s
definitely one here. I can feel the uh logo of it. This one doesn’t look like
one, but Great dials. Nice and basic. That’s actually a grainy feel to it. Cup
holders. They’re fixed size. And this is where you put in the key fobs. That’s
where they’ve got the key fobs here. And what else we got is um a nice uh sunroof and a sunshade. So you can control
that usually from the top here. Now that’s the hazards. You can’t really see. H there we are. That’s pretty good. And of course, the sunshade
moves in the back there as I touch that component. So, I can see here a leather steering. And
the other thing I notice immediately are the LEDs. And I’m sure cuz it gives me it’s like
reminiscent of the BYD seal that I have. It’s got very similar lines, LED lines straight
across the vehicle. Yeah. And what I believe this would also do just like the BYD is as you’re
playing music, you could tell it to change colors, go with the beats and things like that.
And what else I see here is adjustable. You won’t see it from there, but I can just
tell you there’s adjustable sides here for the seat. Doesn’t have it on this side. This is
the glove compartment. It’s quite good overall. It’s got enough controls and yeah, it’s got enough
controls that I would say this would actually be quite a drive. Even though I haven’t test
driven it, it actually is quite a nice vehicle. charger. Now, as I sit into the back seat, there
is actually plenty of room here. Now, I don’t look at that. That’s actually
a lot of room. Full hand length. So, I see here air conditioning controls.
There’s the center console which was opened. left and right vents and quite it’s quite hard
seating I would say and what I see here is like I’m 5′ 9 and what I see here is quite some
distance if you look here I can easily put my hand above there so even I’m you know going
over speed humps and things like that it’s quite a lot of room I think you’d be able to seat
three people quite comfortably in the back here. Nice. And as we can see here, there’s perforated
seats both in the front and back. And that may indicate either heating or cooling. Just
depends. We’d have to look at the specs of this vehicle. By closing the door, we can see here
some Sony logos which indicate some Sony speakers. one of the speakers here. It’s quite a quite a nice vehicle overall. Okay, so now we’re looking at the exterior of the
vehicle as we can see here. It is quite good, especially with the light bar right
in the front of it and the side bars like the daytime driving lights on these.
So, let’s I like this grill even though it’s quite a good grill because it’s a hybrid.
There’ll be a radiator in the back of it. So, that’s for the cooling system. Now, let’s
take a look at the car. It is a matte finish. It is quite nice on the body of the vehicle. And
that’s what we see here. $66,466 drive-away. And these are the four colors that come. Yeah, they’re
all quite dark, I would say, except for this one here. But you’d have to see on their website how
it actually looks in those particular colors. But yeah, let’s go around the vehicle. Okay, so
what we see here are the 20-in rims and of course Michelin. So quite good tires for this type of
vehicle. And there’s the charging port. CCS2 CCS2 and the DC component there and the boot space. And we’ll provide the specs of this vehicle
for the boot space as we get through this video. Now that was the Omoda 9. Quite
a nice vehicle. Now, if you stick around just before the end of the video, I will play
the promotional video on that. Now, of course, I’m not promoting this vehicle. I’ve got no
financial incentive to do this, but I thought it’s a good addition to this particular video
just to give an overview of what the company thinks of their own vehicle and things that we
would have missed in the general review. Now, there was a public uh show was a public event.
So, of course, we can’t do the exact type of uh review on the vehicle that one would do
if they had it exclusively without, you know, many of the interruptions, but this is what you
get in a public show, so it’s no problem. So, if you did enjoy this video, please give us a thumbs
up, subscribe to the channel, share this content with someone who’d be interested, or just leave a
comment. Now, do stick around. As I said, here’s the promo video for it. I really hope you enjoyed
this video. Until the next time, bye for now. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Hey, hey, hey. Heat. Heat.
