So you’ve set up your MINI Digital Key Plus as shown in our other How-To Videos. You can share it with friends, family, or coworkers. And from now on, sharing a MINI Digital Key Plus offers more possibilities
like adjusting its functionality and even pass it on to additional users. In total, the Digital Key for one MINI can be shared on up to 18 different devices. Here’s how sharing works with iPhones: Open the wallet app on your smartphone, select the Digital Key and press the sharing symbol. Choose how you want to share
your MINI Digital Key Plus, any messaging app will work. To adjust the functionality of the shared key, click on “Privileges”. There are different levels of restriction. With “Full” all vehicle functions are unrestricted with the shared digital key, and recipients can share digital keys too. With “Full Driving. Limited Sharing” the first recipient can share once more, but a second recipient cannot share the key. With “Full Driving. No Sharing” or “Restricted Driving. No Sharing” you can block the shared key from being shared again. Or additionally restrict vehicle functions like maximum speed and power or radio volume level for example to share the key for valet parking or young drivers. Let’s choose “Full” in this case. Select “Activation code”. Except for iMessage, sharing the activation code
is always selected and required for recipients to activate their shared key. For added security, send your contact the copied activation code via a different contact channel. As the recipient, click on the link to add the shared Digital Key to your Smartphone Wallet and continue. To fully activate the key, enter the activation code in your smartphone wallet. Done!
