2025 Toyota RAV4 PHEV vs. 2025 Hyundai Tucson PHEV | Toyota
The 2025 Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid versus the 2025 Hyundai
Tucson Plug-in Hybrid. Which of these small plug-in hybrid SUVs is the better choice? Let’s find out. With 302 net combined horsepower and a max towing capacity of 2,500 pounds, RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid has a power and towing capacity advantage
over Tucson Plug-in Hybrid. Available features like a
120-volt/1,500-watt power outlet give RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid an edge over the Tucson Plug-in Hybrid when it comes to convenience. At an EPA-estimated 38
miles per gallon combined, plus a 42-mile EPA-estimated
pure EV driving range rating, RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid beats
out Tucson Plug-in Hybrid. Now let’s put RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid and Tucson Plug-in Hybrid side by side. For 2025, the Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid offers two sport-oriented grades and standard all-wheel drive. Tucson Plug-in Hybrid does the same. RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid’s performance excites thanks to its standard
2.5-liter plug-in hybrid system with 302 net combined horsepower, which puts it above Tucson Plug-in Hybrid’s 268
net combined horsepower. Both vehicles also include
standard all-wheel drive. RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid has Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive, which uses an electric
motor on the rear axle for added traction. Tucson Plug-in Hybrid features a mechanical
all-wheel drive system with a driveshaft connecting
the front and rear axles. RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid is also
rated to tow 2,500 pounds, giving it an edge over Tucson Plug-in
Hybrid’s 2,000 pound rating. Finally, RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid has exceptional fuel economy ratings at an EPA-estimated 38 miles
per gallon combined rating, and an EPA-estimated
42-mile driving range rating in EV-only mode, both of which are higher
than Tucson Plug-in Hybrid, which is rated at an EPA-estimated 35 miles
per gallon combined rating, and an estimated 32-mile
driving range rating in EV-only mode. Make no mistake about it, when it comes to design, the 2025 RAV4 Plug-in
Hybrid really stands out. Just take a look at its available
two-tone exterior colors, which Tucson Plug-in Hybrid can’t match since it’s only available
in single-tone colors. And in the case of the XSE
grade’s 19-inch alloy wheels, the athletic looks really get amped up. And while RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid
has an available power sunroof and an available panoramic glass roof, Tucson Plug-in Hybrid only provides an available panoramic sunroof. And finally, RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid’s available hands-free power liftgate is designed to make loading
and unloading easier, matching Tucson Plug-in
Hybrid’s Smart Power Liftgate. Why leave any box unchecked? RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid’s handsome looks and efficiency are complimented by truly premium conveniences. There’s an available
heated steering wheel, available heated and
ventilated front seats, and available heated outboard rear seats, all of which are also available
on Tucson Plug-in Hybrid. Additionally, an available
Qi-compatible wireless charger helps keep mobile devices charged, while the available
120-volt/1500-watt power outlet is designed to allow owners to operate most high-demand electronics like a small cooler during
their latest getaway, the latter of which is also a feature that Tucson Plug-in Hybrid lacks. RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid and Tucson Plug-in Hybrid also offer an available 12.3-inch
digital gauge cluster and an available head-up display, which are designed to
put important information front and center. The 2025 RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid
comes packed with tech, thanks to its advanced Toyota
Audio Multimedia platform, which features a standard eight-inch or available 10.5-inch touchscreen. This interface includes
standard wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay, which connects drivers to
the apps on their iPhone, including maps, messages, podcasts, and music subscriptions. In addition, Wireless
Android Auto compatibility makes it easy to stay
connected to Android devices and access various apps and services from Google including YouTube Music and Google Maps. Plus, there’s a
three-month SiriusXM trial, which includes over 165
channels available in-cabin, and even more on the SiriusXM app, making it easier than ever to
enjoy not just ad-free music, but also sports, comedy, and more. Tucson also includes standard
wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a SiriusXM trial. Select grades also offer
Connected Services trials for Toyota’s line of Connected Services, including Safety Connect,
Service Connect, Remote Connect, Wi-Fi Connect, and Drive Connect. Tucson also includes Bluelink+
connected services trials. RAV4 has an available 11-speaker JBL Premium Audio System too, with Tucson offering a Bose equivalent consisting of only eight speakers. RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid comes with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ system. This high-tech safety suite includes Pre-Collision System
with Pedestrian detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, Full-Speed Range Dynamic
Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, and Roadside Assist. Tucson Plug-in Hybrid’s Hyundai SmartSense comes with similar features. Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic
Alerts also comes standard on both RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid grades. And finally, an available
Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking and an available Panoramic
View Monitor are designed to help drivers maneuver
through tight spaces. Tucson Plug-in Hybrid also
offers similar features. RAV4 brings strong value since
it comes with ToyotaCare, which includes two years or 25,000 miles of scheduled maintenance, whichever comes first, and two years, unlimited mileage 24-hour roadside assistance. RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid also
includes a three-year or 36,000-mile basic warranty,
whichever comes first, and a five-year or 60,000-mile
powertrain warranty, whichever comes first. It also includes a hybrid system warranty that covers select
components for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, and a 10 year or 150,000-mile
hybrid battery warranty, whichever comes first. Tucson Plug-in Hybrid includes a five-year or 60,000-mile basic warranty, and powertrain, hybrid/electric battery, and hybrid system warranties for 10 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid impresses with impressive fuel efficiency and all-electric range rating, power, and generous
hybrid battery warranty. Pair that with Toyota’s
legendary reputation for quality, durability, and reliability, and that’s a tough combination to beat. Discover RAV4 Plug-in
