2025 Toyota 4Runner vs. 2025 Ford Bronco | Toyota

The 2025 Toyota 4Runner versus the 2025 Ford Bronco. Let’s find out which of these
mid-size SUVs is the best for drivers seeking adventure, premium features, and utility. Drivers will be glad to know that the 2025 Toyota 4Runner’s
EPA-estimated MPG ratings beat out Ford Bronco. Thanks to features like an
available power liftgate and an optional third
row on select grades, 4Runner has an edge over Bronco when it comes to convenience. When it comes to towing, 4Runner’s 6,000-pound max capacity beats out the Ford Bronco, which can only tow up to 4,500 pounds. Now, let’s put 4Runner and
Ford Bronco side by side. For 2025, 4Runner is
offered in nine grades, so there’s sure to be something to suit a wide variety of drivers. There are five TRD models, plus, an exciting new Trailhunter grade, and there’s also a Platinum
grade with premium appointments. Ford Bronco is available in seven grades. 4Runner’s performance really stands out. This starts with its standard
i-FORCE turbocharged engine with 278 horsepower and
317 pound-feet of torque. It continues with its available
i-FORCE MAX hybrid system with up to 326 net combined horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, a valuable asset in off-road driving. Additionally, 4Runner’s available
hybrid powertrain offers more torque than Bronco’s
most powerful grade, the Bronco Raptor, which is rated at 418 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque. 4Runner can also tow up to 6,000 pounds, much more than Bronco which tops out at 3,500
pounds for standard trims and 4,500 pounds for the Raptor. And 4Runner’s up to an EPA-estimated 23 miles per gallon combined
rating is more than Bronco, which maxes out at an EPA-estimated 20
miles per gallon combined. 4Runner pairs its advanced powertrains with off-road-tuned suspensions featuring a standard multilink
rear coil spring suspension. Featuring Old Man Emu
shocks on Trailhunter that are designed to help
bring added capability when crawling over rough trails, and 2.5-inch Fox internal bypass
shocks on the TRD Pro grade for added capability during desert-style,
higher-speed off-road driving, 4Runner’s performance spans a wide range. Bronco comes standard with a High-Performance
Off-Road Stability Suspension and is tuned specifically
based on the grade. Higher grades like the Bronco
Raptor include Fox Shocks. Limited and Platinum grades even have available Adaptive
Variable Suspension, which is designed to increase
on-road ride comfort. Bronco also has adaptive suspension, but it’s more focused
on off-road performance. 4Runner is ready for adventure thanks to available
part-time four-wheel drive allowing drivers to
activate four-wheel drive when the road gets tough. Premium grades have available
full-time four-wheel drive, which includes a center
locking differential for added traction. Ford Bronco has a standard
four-wheel drive system that includes Automatic
On-Demand Engagement capability on select grades. Both vehicles also
include available features like the Stabilizer Disconnect Mechanism and a locking rear differential. Functional and sophisticated,
4Runner gets the job done, and to prove it, it has three
step options to Bronco’s one, giving buyers the power of choice. 4Runner features standard
fixed running boards. This can be elevated with
available automatic running boards on premium grades which are designed to make entering and exiting the vehicle easier, while off-road grades have available frame-mounted rock
rails designed for rugged use. Finally, 4Runner also has a
standard power rear window and an available
hands-free power liftgate, two features that Bronco leaves out. 4Runner delivers on comfort with features like its available dual-zone automatic climate control system. Bronco comes standard with single-zone manual climate control, while its equivalent
dual-zone automatic system is only offered on the
Big Bend grade and up. Things get even more premium on 4Runner thanks to available heated
and ventilated front seats, an available heated steering wheel, and available heated outboard rear seats. Bronco has optional heated front seats and an available heated steering wheel. However, ventilated front seats and heated outboard rear seats
are not available at all. And 4Runner’s available
12.3-inch digital gauge clusters slightly beats out what
Ford Bronco has to offer in this department. 4Runner is also ready to fit
the whole family and more with available third-row seating on the SR5 and Limited gas grade, another feature Bronco falls short of. In terms of Audio Multimedia, 4Runner has a standard
eight-inch touchscreen and an available 14-inch unit. Bronco comes standard with
a 12-inch touchscreen. 4Runner’s interface includes
standard wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay, which connects drivers to
the apps on their iPhone, including maps, messages,
podcasts, and music subscriptions. In addition, wireless
Android Auto compatibility makes it easy to stay
connected to Android devices and access various apps
and services from Google including YouTube Music and Google Maps. Plus there’s a standard three-month SiriusXM trial subscription that includes over 165
channels available in-cabin, and even more on the SiriusXM app, making it easier than ever to
enjoy not just ad-free music, but also sports, comedy, and more. Bronco includes standard
wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a SiriusXM trial subscription. Select 4Runner grades also include trials for Toyota’s line of Connected Services, including Safety Connect,
Service Connect, Remote Connect, Wi-Fi Connect, and Drive Connect. On the other hand, Bronco
comes with FordPass Connect. Finally, 4Runner has an available 14-speaker JBL Premium Audio system, which includes a portable JBL FLEX speaker that lets drivers take
their tunes on the go, a feature that Ford Bronco’s optional 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen
Premium Audio system lacks. Every Toyota 4Runner comes standard with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 system. This includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, Full-Speed Range Dynamic
Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. Ford Bronco offers a similar safety suite with Ford Co-Pilot 360. Blind Spot Monitor with
Rear Cross-Traffic Alert comes standard on 4Runner, while Ford Bronco’s version is
only available as an add-on. 4Runner’s strong value is
seen in its ToyotaCare, which includes two years or 25,000 miles of scheduled maintenance, whichever comes first, and two-years, unlimited mileage 24-hour roadside assistance. Bronco has five years or 60,000 miles of roadside assistance, whichever comes first, but no scheduled maintenance. 4Runner and Bronco include a three-year or 36,000-mile limited warranty, whichever comes first, and a five-year or 60,000-mile
powertrain warranty, whichever comes first. 4Runner’s i-FORCE MAX
hybrid grades also include a hybrid system warranty
that covers select components for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, and a 10-year or 150,000-mile
hybrid battery warranty, whichever comes first. 4Runner’s wide spectrum of
features and capability makes it the smart choice among mid-sized SUVs. From the highly off-road capable
Trailhunter and TRD grades, to the premium Limited,
and Platinum grades, there really is a 4Runner for everyone. Discover 4Runner today at Toyota.com.
