First Ride on the KINGBULL Rover 2.0 Fat Tire E-Bike Review!
and welcome back to the channel. On this video, I’m riding a brand new bike. This is going to be a first impression ride on the Kingbull Rover 2.0. Brand new bike. Now, you’re going to actually see this video after the review video, but this is I wanted to get this recorded because this is my first time riding the bike. So, this is a class 3 28 m perph bike with full suspension and no fenders. As you can see, this is an on-road/oproad bike. And uh let’s see what it’s like. It’s got a torque sensor, too. So, I’m really interested in this testing this out. It’s an extremely long bike. I mean, the average length for a bike is about 68 1/2 in. And this one’s uh 75 and a half. So, it’s really long. All right, my first time riding a torque sensor bike except for a rental bike that I’m not going to really count. So, here we go. I’m going to put it in pedal assist one to start off. It’s a windy day here. Nice morning, though. It’s about oh 9:45 in the morning. 9:40 9:39 and it’s about 77°. So, not bad. Okay, so here we go. And this is just pedaling nice and easy in pedal assist one. And it gets to a speed of about nine, just about 10 miles an hour. Let’s call it uh 10 miles hour. Good morning. So, let’s go up to pedal assist 2. So, there’s pedal assist 2. I could definitely feel it accelerating. Now I’m giving it a little more harder pedal with the uh torque sensor here. So 146 or 7. So just under say 15 miles an hour. So you get 10 miles an hour in pedal assist one. I’m coming to a stop sign here. So 10 in pedal assist one, 15 and two. We’re going to get by this stop sign. Nice acceleration. Almost feels like it’s going to pull the bike off the ground. All right, so now we’re going to go up to pedal assist 3. This is a very nice, smooth bike. Pedal assist 3 definitely has more get up and go. You can feel it. It’s going to get you just 19 miles an hour. So, that’d be a good speed if you’re riding on the road and you want to keep it say at class two, you don’t want to go any faster. That would be perfect. This this right here So far, you know, I’m not really noticing a difference in the torque versus cadence. Let’s see. Well, I do notice. Yeah, I guess I do now that I try going slow and not pedaling hard at all. If this was cadence now, as you see, I’m pedaling nice and slow here and I’m getting 12 and a half miles an hour. this was cadence now it would take off to the maximum speed which in pedal assist 3 would be 19 19 point something a little under 20 just basically say 20 m an hour so yeah there is a difference it does make a difference I think actually this might be better I think I like the torque better for that because maybe you want to go in pedal assist three but you don’t want to go have it go maximum every time Right? Maybe you want to be variable and instead of shifting pedal assist levels from 3 to two to one and whatever, then you can uh you can just go according to whatever you’re pedaling and uh just do it that way. Guys riding a high keep. I see that guy all the time. He’s not really paying attention to me, so he probably doesn’t want to be on camera. He might see the camera. I don’t know. But one day I saw that bike and uh I looked it up. That’s the hike. I’m going to go here. So let’s go up to pedal assist four. See what kind of speed. So yeah, this is pedaling not hard. Just making the pedals go. Let’s try pedaling a bit harder. Yeah, you can get it to 24. This bike does have five assist levels. Really nice sharp looking black. It’s a a glossy black. And I think this looks really good with the uh the white King Bull writing on the on the bike and the CST 26×4 in tires written on the tire. I think it makes makes the make it look a little sportier actually. Brakes are good. I’m liking this bike. And I should mention too, it’s got the full suspension. So, of my pedal bikes that I call pedal bikes, this is the first Oh, yeah. This is the first uh bike that I’ve had that has a full suspension. All the others just up front. Okay. in pedal assist 4. There’s no ghost pedaling. That’s cool. So, I can go 21 miles an hour, almost 22 there, and no ghost pedaling. I like that. And I’m in gear 7. I should mention this has seven gears. I am a big fan of just leaving my gear in in the highest one. That way I’m not having my legs go 50 miles an hour, you know, rounding around really fast like Fred Flintstone in his car. Okay. Looks like going the other way. I’m not going to have a bike lane. I don’t know if this is considered Yeah, this is considered a bike lane. Okay. Well, why do you only have a bike lane on one side of the road? It’s inconceivable. Okay. I’m going to turn around here. Campbell Clinic, Center for Bone Health. Okay, we’re just going to do a turn around in here. I’m really liking that breeze this morning. It’s uh keeping it cool. Bug just in my ear. Good morning. Good morning. All right. Well, we’ll go this way, but there’s no bike lane, which I don’t like. So far, my first impressions are I’m liking this bike quite a bit. I could see myself riding this one a lot. All right, here we go. So, we’re still in pedal assist 4. We did not go to pedal assist 5 yet. So, since we’re in the car lane because there’s no bike lane, let’s go to five. And I’m not pedaling hard. I’m just going with it. Okay, looks like about 22 mph. Let’s go a little bit harder. Yeah, you can see the torque sensor or feel the torque sensor kicking in the harder you pedal. So, I don’t know what the maximum speed is. You know, it looks like King Bull with all their bikes are the same day. They max out at about 27.4 miles an hour, no matter how hard you pedal. So, that’s that’s keeping it class three, which is totally fine. I mean, a lot of folks out there just want to stay legal, and this will do that for you. I’m going to test the throttle only now. Now, we’re back into bike. I’m going to just test throttle only in pedal or in uh five. See, I can feel it cut off. It’ll get you to 20. So, they have it. This is exactly legal. Uh 20 mph throttle as you see right there. That’s maxed out. I’ve got it pinned. And if you pedal, you’re going to get to just about 28 27.4. I got it too. I might have even been able to try pedal a little harder to go faster, but I don’t think so. I think it’s going to cut off right there. So, basically, you could call it 28. So, I want to go back to pedaling, though. And I want to lower the assist level. I think three is a good one. So basically, if you want to go class two with while pedaling the 20 m an hour, just put this bike into assist three and you’ve got it. Okay, I want to turn here left. Brakes are really good. I think the only thing that I can criticize right now is the seat may not be the best in the world. And that’s pretty common. I can feel it’s a little bit on the hard side. Maybe I need more cushion on my rear. I don’t know. But uh yeah, but uh yeah, this is nice. I’m liking this. And there’s the horn. I probably should do an evening ride and use the headlight and show you that, but I haven’t done an evening ride in a little bit. I much prefer day rides for sure. Okay, I want to stop for a second. Actually, I’m going to go down this street. Okay, let’s just pull over here for a second. Now I want to Oh yeah. See the clearance. Now I got to tell you the Hunter 2.0 Kingbull when you would turn if you had your foot Let me point down to show you. If you had your foot like that, you can’t turn the wheel without hitting your foot with the wheel. On this bike, they have a lot of clearance. That’s probably why you’re seeing that this bike is 75 1/2 in long. uh it it uh eliminates that problem which is awesome. So, this bike has a 15 amp hour battery. I charged it up um fully before I went out for the first ride here today. First impression is I love this bike. Um, the suspension definitely I can feel the difference compared to not having one. I haven’t gone on anything rough here off-road here. I don’t know. There’s nothing right around here, but I can just feel the bumps on the road. Um, how different it is. I’m noticing uh I’m noticing on my morning rides cuz I usually come out here. I’ve been coming out uh the same time every day around 9:30ish give or take anywhere between 9 and 10. I come out for a video ride and uh I’m noticing some of the same folks walking their dogs and stuff. So, they’re probably noticing me every day, but they’re probably saying, “Hey, what’s this guy doing?” Every day I see him on a different bike. What’s up with that? I’m sure she doesn’t know that I’m on YouTube. That lady there anyway. Or none of them. All right, I’m going to turn right. I think I’m just going in a circle here. So, basically, this bike is a true class 3 on-road off-road. Um, so it does not have a rack and it does not have fenders, but it does have full suspension. I don’t mind the tradeoff. Now, there’s many folks out there that will not ride in the rain anyway. So, if you’re if you’re riding in the rain, then I would probably want fenders. Um, but some people just like the fact that it looks sportier without the fenders, which it’s to each its own, I guess, but I I would trade off uh um the fenders and the rear rack in order to have a full suspension. Now, you can adjust that suspension to your own liking uh depending on your weight and stuff. I was messing with it a bit. I’ll probably mess with it some more to get it to where I like it, but it’s not bad right here. Oh, yeah. Nice brakes. And it’s got some bounce to it. Yeah. Okay. Did I go down a dead end road? No, I didn’t. But I’m going to turn around because I don’t want to go down here. Thank you very much to uh Kingbull uh for sending me this bike for review. Like I say, you’ll see the review video before you see my first ride, but I did want to get this recorded because I think it’s always awesome when you ride a bike for the first time. um to let everybody come along with you and see as a group what it feels like riding this bike for the very first time. I’ve got so many black bikes, but I’m liking this black. And like I say, I think I’m going to be riding this bike a lot. I’m liking this one. I need to take this one on some of the trails. If it looks like I’m going around in a circle, I might be. I’m just riding around just testing this bike out and I don’t want to get off of it. I’m in pedal assist 3 right now. This bike, I should mention, does weigh 80 lbs and it’s long. Like I say, 75 and a half inches. That’s longer than your average bike. It’s a big bike, too. I’ve got the seat down pretty pretty low. Not all the way, but down quite a bit. I mean, I think I Let me come to this stop and we’ll see. I think I can touch my toes. I don’t think I can put my feet completely down. I didn’t have it that low. Yeah. So, you can see here I have my toes down, but not my feet flat. But that’s fine. Um, I can’t quite touch my feet flat. I could put it down a bit lower, but I don’t want to. I think this is good. So, anybody that’s a taller rider, I’m 5’9, so this will accommodate somebody for sure. 6’2″, I would say, no problem. Maybe more. So yeah, if you’re looking for if you’re looking for a bike and you’re a bigger guy that now the tire PSI maximum is 30. I max it out. I’m one of the guys that just wants the tire as hard as you can make it, you know, recommended. Uh I like the good hard tire. So, I’m just riding along here in pedal assist 3. I’m not pedaling hard at all. I mean, I could pedal just a little harder to get it a little faster, but this is good. Let me know in the comments what you think of this bike. Um, and hey, do you own one? It’s brand new out. I’m not sure how long it’s been out, but not that long. It’s got nice fast acceleration with the throttle. So, if you like a bike that’s completely legal, the only thing is in a couple of states, I’m thinking California all the time, but with the no throttle on class 3 bikes, other than that, it’s got a throttle on it, but it is completely legal where it goes 20 m an hour with throttle and then above that, you would be pedaling. down here just to be different. It It corners well, too. This bike, you know, it’s an 80 lb bike. It’s not the lightest bike in the world. It’s got flat tires. I know some people say, “Well, you know, the the narrower tires, the 3-in tires or 2 and 1/2 in tires are more nimble.” Well, maybe they are, but I like the stability of the the fat tire. I feel a little more grounded, I guess. I don’t know. Like, I just I’m a big fan of the fat tire. I know a lot of folks are into the uh uh That’s going to take me back down. Well, let’s go down here anyway. There’s no outlet the other way. I see the sign, but um I don’t know. I’m I’m still a big fan of the fat tires. And you feel like on a bike like this, you can just go anywhere, right? If you’re going to slip into a a trail that’s a gravel trail, no problem. No problem. If you’re going to cut up onto some grass for whatever reason, uh, again, no problem. [Music] I love the throttle for the fact that it gets you going, so you don’t have to pedal from a dead stop. All right, my synopsis on this bike is love it, love it, love it. You’re going to see a lot more of this one on the channel. And I need to get this one out on the trail one of these days. still got some things going on here, but I’m going to get to more trail riding in the future. It’s nice to be able to do both uh neighborhood riding and trail riding. And that’s what you get when you’re retired. You don’t have to worry about it. You know, you can just ride ride some more and enjoy the ride. This corner is so nice. I’m going to I can keep pedaling going around this corner. No problem. Okay, I’m just going to eueie and go back this way. All right, well that’s going to do it for this video. Hope you enjoyed my first ride on the uh Kingbull Rover 2.0 750 W motor. I think it peaks around 12 or 1300 watts. Maximum speed is 28 mph in class 3. Uh, hydraulic disc brakes, sevenspeed, five pedal assist levels, full suspension. Got to love the full suspension. 100%. Corners well, nice to look at. This black is really cool. Like I say, this glossy black, it shines. Love it. You can adjust the front fork suspension and the rear suspension to your liking. A few things to assemble on the bike when you get it. The handlebars, the front wheel, the pedals, the headlight. They sure give you a a nice big headlight. I’ll say that, too. And it’s bright. It’s nice. All right, that’s going to do it for this video. If you like this video, go ahead and hit the like button. Let’s get off and take one more look at this beautiful Kingbull Rover 2.0. And thank you once again to Kingull for sending me this for review. There it is. Nice shot of it right there. So, if you’d like to uh subscribe to the channel, just hit that subscribe button.
