Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation Families Join Honda HRC Progressive at SMX 💛
So, we’re here this weekend in Charlotte for amazing weekend uh for racing and we’re collaborating with PBTF, an important partner of Honda for over 34 years, celebrating uh an amazing partnership and also visiting a local hospital uh which is critically important for Honda uh to partner with the community. Uh we have associates from our local factories in North Carolina and South Carolina visiting the infusion center there to really spread some joy for some kids that are going through some very hard times. And also we’re going to be hosting some families here on Friday. Uh we were able to introduce them to the team, give them a tour of the trucks and also introduce them to the riders and spend some time talking to them about what a race weekend is all about. And on Saturday, we’ll give them a tour of the track and also they’ll be sitting with the Honda associates in the stands and really rooting on the team hoping for a Honda victory. So, we are associates from both the North Carolina and South Carolina manufacturing plants for Honda. Uh, and we came here to Charlotte today to give the kids experience uh help them draw some works of art. Uh, and also just to talk to them and give them a good time. I think it’s the experience that we’re we’re all never going to forget. We’ve gotten to meet a lot of great people and uh it’s just something that really represents Honda and uh represents us as people and associates. We are honored to be back for year two with team Honda HRC Progressive at Super Motocross Round 1. The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation is a national nonprofit dedicated solely to ending the devastation of pediatric brain tumors. We do that by providing financial assistance direct to families and providing them an array of psychosocial resources including peer-to-peer mentorship, webinars, support groups, and many other resources. We also invest in innovative and cutting edge research that will lead to change and treatment options and better treatment options for patients and their families. This weekend we have three patient families joining us to be part of team Honda HRC. They’re out here having a wonderful time getting to experience Super Motocross for the first time and really get to see what this team is all about and get to see how this partnership with Honda that has been with PBTF and Honda for 34 years has taken shape and gone to the next level with this partnership this weekend. All right.
Honda HRC Progressive partnered with the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation for the Charlotte SMX round, continuing a relationship that spans nearly three and a half decades. On Friday morning, associates from Honda’s North Carolina and South Carolina plants visited a group of patients at the Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital, and that evening the team hosted other patients for a dinner in the pits. The team’s race bikes featured special Throttle Jockey graphics with art from North Carolina patients and their siblings. The autographed bodywork was then auctioned off to benefit PBTF.
Since 1991, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation has been the leading nonprofit focused on ending childhood brain cancer, leading the way in funding research into pediatric brain tumors (the deadliest form of childhood cancer), an area that is woefully underfunded by the government and private investors. A key part of the Foundation’s mission is to support innovative projects that lead to vital discoveries, new clinical trials and better treatments—all with the goal of getting closer to a cure. To date, the Foundation’s supporters have raised more than $54 million to support groundbreaking research. The PBTF also advocates for policies that help patients, survivors and their loved ones, and it provides support to families affected by childhood brain cancer along every step of the journey, through emotional, financial and educational resources.
