2025 Toyota Sequoia vs. 2025 Jeep Wagoneer | Toyota
The 2025 Toyota Sequoia versus the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer. Which of these full-size SUVs brings the most comfort and versatility? Let’s find out. Thanks to a standard
i-FORCE MAX hybrid system, Sequoia has more power and higher EPA-estimated
MPG ratings than Wagoneer. Sequoia offers comfort features like available massaging front seats and heated and ventilated
outboard second-row seats that aren’t available on Wagoneer. Sequoia’s standard multi-level
adjustable cargo floor system and flip-up rear window
mean added convenience versus what Wagoneer offers. Now let’s put Sequoia and
Wagoneer side by side. For 2025, Sequoia is
available in six grades, while Wagoneer offers seven. And every Sequoia model comes standard with the i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain, while Wagoneer only offers a gas engine. But four-wheel drive is
available on both SUVs. Sequoia’s output impresses, thanks to its standard
i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain with 437 net combined horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque. That’s more than Jeep
Wagoneer’s three-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine, which has 420 horsepower and 468 pound-feet of torque. Sequoia also equips drivers with a standard two-speed transfer case on its four-wheel drive grades, helping improve their off-road capability. A two-speed transfer case is
also available on Wagoneer. And at up to an EPA-estimated 22 miles per gallon combined rating, Sequoia has higher MPG
ratings than Wagoneer, which has up to an EPA-estimated 20 miles per gallon combined rating. Sequoia’s exciting capability continues with an available Adaptive
Variable Suspension that electronically changes damping rates based on the road surface
for a smooth, premium ride. Meanwhile, an available Load-Leveling Rear Height Control Air Suspension that’s designed to provide added stability and handling when towing
by keeping the body level when carrying cargo or
pulling heavy loads. Wagoneer offers a comparable Quadra-Lift Air Suspension system. For added capability, Sequoia TRD Pro’s standard
FOX internal bypass shocks are designed to provide
progressive damping for handling rough off-road driving, all while maintaining
a smooth on-road ride. Jeep Wagoneer does not make a
comparable feature available. Sequoia also has a max payload capacity of up to 1,730 pounds, which is more than Wagoneer’s
max capacity of 1,550 pounds. Drivers that catch a glimpse
of Sequoia’s bold exterior will see plenty that’s
worth getting excited about. First there’s the available
22-inch alloy wheels, and did you know that the TRD Pro grade pays homage to Toyota’s motorsport legacy? This great legacy is evidenced through its impressive design, just take its heritage-inspired
Toyota grille for example. Wagoneer also has available
22-inch alloy wheels, while its off-road-oriented Overland grade includes skid plates. Sequoia complements its sense
of style with practicality thanks to a standard flip-up rear window that’s designed to help provide quicker and easier
access to the cargo area, while Wagoneer doesn’t
offer anything similar. Additionally, both Sequoia and Wagoneer have available automatic
power-extending running boards, making entering and exiting a breeze. Sequoia also offers two moonroof options: a standard power moonroof and an available panoramic moonroof that help open up the cabin. On the other hand, Wagoneer only offers a tri-pane panoramic
sunroof on select grades. Sequoia is all about offering
drivers and their passengers an experience that’s oh-so-premium. It brings them available
heated, ventilated, and even massaging front seats, plus, rear passengers can ride in comfort thanks to available heated and ventilated outboard second-row seats. Wagoneer doesn’t stack the
comforts up quite as well since it lacks a massage
function on its front seats, and the second-row seats
do not offer ventilation. On the other hand, an
available heated steering wheel and a two-tone interior option add to Sequoia’s distinctly plush vibe. Wagoneer comes standard
with a heated steering wheel and also has an available
two-tone interior option. Sequoia also has a standard
12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, which is larger than Wagoneer’s
10.25-inch cluster display. Additionally, Sequoia’s
available head-up display and Qi-compatible wireless charger are designed to add even more convenience. Wagoneer also has an
available head-up display, and a standard Qi-compatible
wireless charger. Finally, an available
60/40 power-reclining, fold-down third row, and standard multi-level
adjustable cargo shelf delivers more versatility
for everyday needs. Wagoneer leaves an adjustable
shelf out altogether. The Toyota Audio Multimedia
system on Sequoia makes staying connected so easy thanks to a standard eight-inch or an available 14-inch touchscreen. Wagoneer comes standard with
a 10.1-inch touchscreen. The Toyota interface includes standard wireless compatibility
for Apple CarPlay, which connects drivers to
the apps on their iPhone, including maps, messages,
podcasts, and music subscriptions. In addition, wireless
Android Auto compatibility makes it easy to stay
connected to Android devices and access various apps
and services from Google including YouTube Music and Google Maps. It also includes a standard three-month
SiriusXM trial subscription, which includes over 165
channels available in-cabin, and even more on the SiriusXM app, making it easier than ever to enjoy not just ad-free music, but also sports, comedy, and more. Wagoneer also includes
wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a SiriusXM trial. Select grades also include trials for Toyota’s line of Connected Services, including Safety Connect
and Service Connect. Meanwhile, Wagoneer includes trial periods for Jeep Connect Services. And for a high-fidelity
listening experience, drivers can enjoy Sequoia’s available 14-speaker JBL Premium Audio system, while Wagoneer can be equipped with an optional 19-speaker
McIntosh Premium Audio system. All Sequoia grades come with the Toyota
Safety Sense 2.5 system. This includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, Full-Speed Range Dynamic
Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, and Road Sign Assist. Wagoneer includes similar
features as Toyota Safety Sense. Blind Spot Monitor with
Rear Cross-Traffic Alert is also standard on both SUVs. For added convenience, Sequoia’s available Trailer Backup Guide is designed to make backing
up a trailer a breeze by providing added steering assistance, a function that Wagoneer does match with its available Trailer Hitch Zoom. Meanwhile, Sequoia’s standard
Panoramic View Monitor and Wagoneer’s available 360
Surround View Camera system are designed to help the driver
maneuver in tight spaces. Sequoia can also be equipped with an available Multi-Terrain Monitor, which lets the driver
see around the vehicle when driving off-road. Every 2025 Sequoia comes with ToyotaCare, which includes two years or 25,000 miles of scheduled maintenance, whichever comes first, and two years, unlimited mileage 24-hour
roadside assistance. Wagoneer includes the Jeep
Wave scheduled maintenance plan for two years or the first two oil
changes and tire rotations, plus five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first,
of roadside assistance. Both vehicles also include a three-year or 36,000-mile basic warranty,
whichever comes first, and five-year or 60,000-mile
powertrain warranty, whichever comes first. And since Sequoia is a hybrid, it also includes a hybrid system warranty that covers select components for eight years or 100,000
miles, whichever comes first, and a 10-year or 150,000-mile
hybrid battery warranty, whichever comes first. With more power, higher
fuel economy estimates, and unmatched comfort and convenience, Sequoia beats Wagoneer in key categories, making it the smart choice
among full-size SUVs. Discover Sequoia today at Toyota.com.
