Stellantis just canled the plug-in hybrid Jeep Gladiator. A leaked memo confirms the Gladiator 4xe is officially dead. Stellantis says it’s reassessing product strategy as buyers cool off on battery trucks. Now, the Gladiator itself isn’t going anywhere. Jeep says it’ll stay in production through 2026. But instead of electrification, Jeep is reinvesting in consumer demanded upgrades, new factory features, and potentially new powertrain options. And this comes right after Stellantis also canceled its fully electric Ram 1500, choosing instead to push a hybridized version called the Ram Charger REV. Analysts say the company is pivoting away from mandates and doubling down on what sells, gas engines. And don’t be shocked if the Gladiator ends up having a V8 option.
