2025 Grand Highlander vs 2025 Hyundai Palisade | Toyota

The 2025 Toyota Grand Highlander versus the 2025 Hyundai Palisade. Which of these midsize
SUVs is the better choice? Let’s find out. Thanks to its advanced turbocharged and electrified powertrains, Grand Highlander has higher EPA-estimated MPG ratings than Palisade. Grand Highlander’s standard three-zone automatic climate
control brings added comfort, something Palisade can’t match
with its dual-zone system. Grand Highlander’s
available Hybrid MAX system has higher net combined horsepower and greater efficiency than
Palisade’s standard V6 engine. Grand Highlander’s lineup
consists of five grades for 2025, including the eye-catching
Nightshade edition. Grand Highlander offers
available all-wheel drive and available hybrid powertrains. Palisade has an available
HTRAC all-wheel drive system, but no hybrid models. Grand Highlander is destined
to stand out in a crowd, especially with its Hybrid MAX grades with gray-painted front grille, silver-painted lower bumper
chin, and dual exhaust tips. Add to that, the Nightshade grade that’s striking in its
dramatic blackout look. Palisade offers a similar
style treatment to Nightshade, in the form of its Calligraphy Night trim. But back to Grand Highlander, it offers available 20-inch alloy wheels, plus, a standard power liftgate. Palisade also offers 20-inch
alloy wheels on select grades. For even more convenience, higher grades include a
hands-free power liftgate that lets drivers open the cargo area with just a kick of their foot. Palisade also has a similar feature called the Hands-Free Smart Liftgate on the SEL grade and up. And Grand Highlander’s cabin gives drivers an airy experience thanks to an available
panoramic glass roof, while the closest Palisade
gets to this feature is its available dual pane sunroof. Grand Highlander comes standard
with the Smart Key System and has available Digital Key capability, which requires an active Remote Connect trial or subscription. Palisade has an available
Hyundai Digital Key 2 on the SE grade and up. Inside the cabin, drivers will find that three-zone automatic
climate control comes standard, while Palisade has only standard dual-zone automatic climate control. Grand Highlander also offers an available heated steering wheel, and available heated and
ventilated front seats and second-row captain’s chairs, all of which are also
available on Palisade. Plus, the available 12.3-inch
digital gauge cluster and available 10-inch,
Head-Up Display are designed to keep important information
in the driver’s line of sight. Palisade also offers an available 12.3-inch
digital instrument cluster and an available head-up display. Grand Highlander features
the cutting-edge tech of the Toyota Audio Multimedia platform. While both Grand Highlander and Palisade come standard with a
12.3-inch touchscreen, the Toyota interface includes standard wireless compatibility
for Apple CarPlay, which connects drivers to
the apps on their iPhone, including maps, messages,
podcasts, and music Subscriptions. In addition, Wireless
Android Auto compatibility makes it easy to stay
connected to Android devices and access various apps
and services from Google including YouTube Music and Google Maps. Palisade requires a wired connection. Now, that’s another big
win for the Toyota SUV. Grand Highlander also has a standard three-month SiriusXM trial subscription that includes over 165
channels available in-cabin, and even more on the SiriusXM app, making it easier than ever to
enjoy not just ad-free music, but also sports, comedy, and more. Palisade also has a standard three-month SiriusXM trial subscription. Its JBL Premium Audio
system comes standard on the Limited, Nightshade,
and Platinum grades. Palisade’s premium system is only standard on its SEL Premium grade and higher. Grand Highlander also includes trials for Toyota’s line of Connected Services, including Safety Connect,
Service Connect, Remote Connect, Wifi Connect, and Drive Connect. Palisade includes Bluelink Plus trials. Grand Highlander elevates
safety with Toyota Safety Sense. Every grade comes standard
with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, Full-Speed Range Dynamic
Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. Palisade has Hyundai SmartSense, which offers similar features to TSS 3.0. Grand Highlander also has
enhanced convenience features like standard Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, available Panoramic View Monitor, along with available Front
and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking. Palisade offers similar features including standard Blind
Spot Collision Warning, an available Surround View Monitor, available Parking Distance
Warning, Forward and Reverse, and Parking Collision
Avoidance Assist, Reverse. When it comes to performance, Grand Highlander delivers the goods with a standard 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine offering 265 horsepower and
310 pound-feet of torque. And Grand Highlander has
up to an EPA-estimated 24 miles per gallon
combined on gas grades. Palisade’s standard V6
engine offers 291 horsepower and just 262 pound-feet of torque, and gets edged out with
an EPA-estimated rating of up to 22 miles per gallon combined. Grand Highlander impresses with an available hybrid powertrain that offers 245 net combined horsepower that makes for a smooth drive, and boasts up to an EPA-estimated 36 miles per gallon combined. Plus, Grand Highlander has the powerful available Hybrid MAX system that balances power and efficiency with a jaw-dropping 362
net combined horsepower and 400 pound feet of torque, and an EPA-estimated 27
miles per gallon combined. Palisade is just not able to compete with Grand Highlander Hybrid and Hybrid MAX’s impressive MPG game, since its lacking in
electrified powertrain options. When properly equipped, Grand Highlander can
tow up to 5,000 pounds, and offers available
all-wheel-drive on gas grades, available Electronic On-Demand all-wheel drive on hybrid grades, and standard Full-Time
Electronic all-wheel drive on Hybrid MAX grades. Palisade is rated to tow 5,000 pounds, but it only offers one
all-wheel drive system called HTRAC all-wheel drive. Grand Highlander brings strong value since it comes with ToyotaCare, which includes two years or 25,000 miles of scheduled maintenance, whichever comes first, and two years, unlimited mileage 24-hour roadside assistance. Palisade includes five years of unlimited mileage roadside assistance, but no scheduled maintenance. Grand Highlander’s hybrid grades also include a hybrid system warranty that covers select components for eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, and a 10-year or 150,000-mile
hybrid battery warranty, whichever comes first. Palisade offers a basic warranty for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first, and a 10-year or 100,000-mile
powertrain warranty, whichever comes first. Grand Highlander impresses
both inside and out, offering elevated convenience alongside Toyota’s legendary
suite of safety features. With its winning combination
of performance and good looks, plus advanced electrified powertrains that deliver power and efficiency, Grand Highlander sets a high
bar for the mid-size SUV set. Discover Grand Highlander
