I Took My Bike to Mexico
[Music] Well, they said I can’t leave the house, so let’s go to Mexico. It’s getting cold out, so I’m wearing my new hoodie. I only made a few of these. I like how it’s baggy, but not long, and I’ll say what it says here later in the video. They’re available on Monster Rides. I’m driving to Mexico in my own truck against everyone’s advice. I’m bringing the Vetra, available on Ronster Rides, and my new Suron Ultra B. After 2 and 1/2 hours of driving, we have reached the border checkpoint. First, you cross through some scanners and then reach human border patrol. I’m rolling down the windows and turning on the lights so they can see inside. They’re asking me the reason for my visit, but quickly turn their focus to the bikes. They said I can’t enter Mexico without registration for the bikes, but that’s impossible. And it’s 2:00 a.m., so the only qualified person I can talk to is at the other border crossing 20 minutes away. I’m getting escorted back into America through a back road. And you can see the massive line to get back into the United States. Thankfully, they’re letting me cut the line, which just saved me a couple hours. Now, I’m driving to the other border entry with fingers crossed. The good news is that they had no problem with the bikes here. But my truck registration is 3 months expired, and you can’t enter Mexico with an unregistered vehicle. So, they turned me away again. It’s now 4:00 a.m., so I’m taking the L and sleeping in my truck overlooking Mexico from the US side of the border. [Music] It’s 7:00 a.m. I’m blasting to the nearest U-Haul to rent a van, moving the bikes and all my stuff over and heading back through the same border crossing that had no issue with the bikes last night. But today, they do have an issue with the bikes. After lots of back and forth, they did reluctantly let me in to Mexico. I’ve never been here before. [Music] Our [Music] first stop is at OXO, which is like Mexican 7-Eleven. They have fresh produce, snacks I’ve never seen before, the best orange juice I’ve ever had out of a bottle, and black Gatorade, which I’m tripping over. At the gas station, they fill your gas for you and clean your windshield while you wait. I’m already loving it here. Pulling into my new neighborhood, the houses are so unique. My house has a gated spot for the van and it sits right on the ocean. So, the living room has this baller view over the pool and ocean with a second level fire pit. My bedroom has a sick view, too. And even with very little sleep, I can’t wait to ride. A lot of people get hit here. Okay, stay alert. Okay, we made it to Mexico. It is a beautiful day out here. We’re taking this open road to the ocean. I’m going to try to get some fruit for breakfast. I didn’t eat anything today. Oh, that’s a dog. Ah, there are sand dunes here on the ocean. And there’s a cop. Oh my lord. Oh. Oh, we’re getting turned around. Caesar ripping on the vetra with this lady. Yeah, he’s got the ATV five. I just can’t believe how a 2 and 1/2 hour drive brings you to a totally different country. Wow. And there’s a restaurant right here. What a vibe. Beautiful. Oh, that one’s like five grand. It’s funny. I don’t speak Spanish, but I understand like almost everything everyone’s saying. Even at the border, I was like, why do I know exactly what they’re talking about? Hey, just like Hawaii. What? Come on. It’s really hard packed sand. It’s actually perfect. I wonder if it’ll Come on. Come on. Isn’t this sick? This is so sick. That’s a full beach, man. How often do you get to do this? [Music] [Applause] [Music] Too easy, dude. The vibes. Dude, yes. So much fruit. Mangoes. Wow. I want to try a fruit that I’ve never tried before. Prickly pears. I’ve always wanted to try one. They got green ones, too. I’m going to go with the purple one. It has like fuzz in it. Wo. What the hell is that? Where’s Jim when you need him to make a white delight? Look at that color. It’s like bleeding. This is one of the most stunning fruits I’ve ever seen. Look at that color. That’s even better than it looks. I can’t believe that grows on a cactus. [Music] Perfect spot. I’m good. I’m good. I’m good. I’m good. I still got sand on the tires. I got a mango under my butt right now. I’m so excited. Look at What is that? No mama’s one. No mama’s one. No way. It’s one of the best bikes I’ve ridden. Yeah. Yeah. I’m so happy to hear that. That’s why I put it on roster. You thought I forgot about you. All right. Charging up. [Music] Get in, loser. We’re going to Tijuana. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Oh, I forgot [ __ ] gloves, dude. It’s okay. They’re at home. Damn it. So nice out. Badass. [Music] No gloves is crazy. So this is the border. This is literally the US border. Look at these vibes. [Music] Yeah, he won it, baby. downtown through the arch. No. Why are you waving them through? There’s casinos here. I heard Pijana is like the Vegas of Mexico. It’s on the border and people sort of pass through and cause some trouble and then go home. Oh, what the dude? What the [ __ ] He’s got machetes. What the You’re killing it, man. If you go that way, you go back into America. If you go this way, you’ll see what you get into. Big ball. Big ball. That might be one of the biggest balls I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen two that are bigger, though. Thanks, dude. [Applause] It’s funny. I understand everything everyone’s saying. I just can’t I don’t know how to respond. Alto means stop. I keep having to learn that almost the hard way. But sometimes I don’t want to alto. You can’t make me alto. Full alto. Now this looks just like Sunset Boulevard. Doesn’t this feel like Sunset Boulevard? It does. I haven’t even used the turbo button on this bike yet. It’s kind of embarrassing to say. I don’t even know where it is, actually. That’s even more embarrassing. I’ll find it. When I told some friends I was going to Mexico, everybody had the same response. It was, “Bring money. If you get in trouble, you can you’re going to need to bribe your way out of it. Don’t bring your truck.” You know, all these things about basically how dangerous and corrupt it is. I’ve only been here for 12 hours. But as far as the vibes go, they’re on point. Oh, it’s another dead dog, though. What the gracias? I feel like a white mom at a Mexican restaurant every time I say gracias. But also, I feel like it’s rude to just be like, “Thank you.” We’re going on our way to get some tamalees. Tamale, tamale, tamale. Dude, that’s got some weight to it. It’s one of the best things about this bike is how much space it has. Yeah, those things are hot. No m. I can feel the heat of the tamale under my butt. God damn. Yeah, I’ve never seen a line for a 7-Eleven to get in the door. It’s like a club. Yeah, we’re out. We’re out. I’m hating on the club. I can’t even get in. Of course. Another beautiful day in Mexico. I have a phone call to make. In my last video, I talked about a Ronster Rides customer who bought an RTR for her son and it was lost in the mail. And when we offered to send her another bike, she said, “No, you don’t know how to run a business.” She reported us and I said, “Well, can I at least call your son and say sorry?” And she said, “No.” I was pretty bummed about that. And then a few days later, somebody emails us and he says, “That’s my son. He would love to talk to you. Here’s his number.” So, I’m going to call her son right now. Is that Max on the line? Yeah. Say hi to Roster. Let’s go, Max. We got in touch. Dude, I’m so sorry about all this. I got a new Monster Rides hoodie coming out. What size can I send you? Medium. Nice. It says dual wheelie in Chinese, so your mom will have no idea what it says, so she’ll never know it’s Monster Rides. [Music] This is Mexico’s deadliest road, and it’s leading us right into a thunderstorm. Sounds like a good ride to me. You can see all these people are turning around. Very few people are going straight. The reason this road is so deadly is because of the bandits and cartel that use the geography of the road to rob people. You can see it’s a long remote road in between two massive canyons and that is really easy for bandits to block you in. There’s only one way out and one way in. They also have fake checkpoints where they look like a military or police checkpoint, but really they’re just trying to rob you. And I feel like that’s only scary if you’re in a car. How are they going to stop us on a bike? I’d like to see them try. We’re about a mile in. No bandits, no fake checkpoints just yet. Smells like dookie right here. I don’t know what’s in that truck. Oh yeah, it’s a slaughter house. No wonder it smells like dookie. So the only establishment on Mexico’s deadliest road is a [ __ ] slaughter house. Why am I not surprised? It’s a L. There’s a lake. [Music] Oh. Oh [ __ ] [Music] I really wish I could explain what happened. All I can say is that I have to leave Mexico, but I can’t go back to the States yet. So, I’m flying to another country, which will be a secret until next week. My hoodies are now available on roster rides. I tested almost 100 hoodies to find the perfect one. It’s all I’m wearing this winter. As always, thank you so much for watching until the end. Stay tuned. I’m on my
