Shocking TRUTH! What REALLY Happens to Electric Cars After 1.4 Lakh Kms?

Many people say, many people say one thing that uh EV tires worn out very fast. What do you have to say to that? How many kilometers did your tire do? But one more thing that I want to give credit to Tata and it’s not a sponsored video. They have started the revolution of electric cars. That’s why you even went for it. And because of that, you were able to save a lot of a lot of money. A lot of money. Would you ever go back to Ice Car? No. Never. Never. Never. Even if it is like affordable and amazing. No. Why? Don’t service it outside the author service center. This being an EV. Yeah. But the thing I don’t want to spend 97,000 on a which can be fixed for 12,000. Any fix? My car got stopped couple of times on the road. From there like 25% battery I’m confident after 25 no. You plan to sell this car? No. Why not? Because the battery, how much have you spent on your EV in 4 years and 4 and a half years? 4 and a half years. How much have you spent? So why did you want to change the battery? Like what was happening? Uh because uh every time my car reaches 20% it would it would stop like in the middle of the road. It will stop at 27%. It’s gone. Like as limp mode 29 limp mode 27 dead. Namaste everyone and welcome back to the new videoership [Music] special EV owners Tata Nexon EVA 40,000 km 6 Mahindra [Music] Hit the subscribe button at the bell notification for all our future updates. Without wasting any further time, let’s get started. Let’s get going. [Applause] So guys I Hyderabad and we have reached this beautiful property one of the community members E community members without wasting any time sir please hello hello thank you so much for having me over here So give a quick introduction about yourself and to the viewers and what you do and then we’ll start the video. I am Vidyan. I’m from Hyderabad. We are into construction business. So I’m using this car from 4 and a half years now. Uh I did four lakh 1 lakh 40,000 and that’s it. I’m enjoying my drive. Superb. So we have a lot of question. In fact I have a lot of questions about you. The people the nation wants to know so many things from you. So I have again prepared some questions for him. Yes. So sir I have some questions for you and let’s start with the first question. You understand Hindi? Yeah. Super. So Hindi English. Let’s start first of all after 1 lakh 40,000 km. First of all, how has been your experience with the Tata car uh which you said 2021 which month did you buy it? Uh January. January. 1 lakh 40,000 in this car itself. Yes. Has your battery been changed so far? Yes. twice. And how has been the experience and why did the battery get changed? Uh experience is quite good like I never face any issue with the service center. I just left the car within a week day I got it back. So is it that they made you wait in Hyderabad that the car battery is not there? We will not change the battery or anything. No, nothing for me nothing happened. No scratches issue just replaced it. So why did you want to change the battery? Like what was happening? uh because uh every time my car reaches 20% it would it would stop like in the middle of the road it stops directly into limp mode and stop. So was it any inconvenient for you and how did you tackle that car RSA? How was the RSA response for uh after four or five times? Uh I think they came couple of times early rest of the time like 4 hours 5 hours and there is no sense of frustration. We could have gone for something else. We knew what we are into it like it’s a it’s a new technology but we enjoy the car. That’s it. 1 lakh 40,000 is final. So let’s first understand the battery and range. Okay. So what is the current battery health of your car after 1 lakh 40? See I understand this is a new battery. When did you put this new battery? Uh January and I drove around 28,000 km. And what is the current state of it? Uh 99.3. That’s recently I got it. So almost 100%. After 22,000 it’s still 200%. 99. Let’s just put it 99. Which battery pack drove the longest? The first one I did for 97,000. Oh, the first battery pack went for 97,000. And at what percentage it used to drop? Uh 27%. It used to drop. Drop. That’s it. It will stop at 27%. It’s gone like as limp mode. No, no, no. 29 limp mode, 27 dead. Dead. Aa. So, what did Tata tell you? What was the reason for that? Uh, they just asked me to do like a 5day test run. I did it. I show them the uh chart from the Z Connect app. Okay. And that’s regular. That’s it. Yeah. Yeah, that’s it. They kept it for 5 days. They did the testing. They said they will replace it and they replaced it. Okay. How much range did you get now? did you get now compared to what you used to get? So see again it’s a new battery health but in the first battery pack I think first I used to get more like around 250 with AC without AC with AC with AC 250 and this is the prime 30 kow battery initially after the first update where the limb mode started okay automatically battery range dropped to like 210 or 220 max. Tell me something after 97,000 or something. What was the state of health of your first battery? Uh I didn’t ask them. You don’t inform me outside. They didn’t ask. You didn’t ask. They didn’t inform. It was that simple. But from the beginning till the end of that 97,000, what was the difference in range that you got on that battery pack? Let’s say from 100 till 25%, because after 25 that battery 2 km or 2.2 km per percentage, not more than that. Not more than that. So that is very good. Yeah. I I personally feel that that percentage drop after 97,000. And we have already made a very detailed technical video on battery health of how you should consider it. Tata cars somehow I believe sir the degradation process of Tata car is very linear. It’s not very gradual. That’s because of the low voltage batteries that they provide. So the next question that we have is 1 lakh 40,000. Have you done any long trips on the car or mostly city? Uh only two long trips. One Bangalore and one Tirupati and rest of the thing city. Is it just once you’ve been to Tupati or multiple times? Once only once Bangalore onceup and 1 lakh 14 entirely in city. Yes. So how many kilometers do you drive in a day? Uh minimum 100 100 km for work purpose and work and school for the kids basically errands and school purposes. That’s that’s that’s great. And u any charging related issues that you faced in terms of your battery because uh initially I’m sure it used to charge at 3.3 kW and did you see a drop in the charging? Yes, I think Tata changed the software to 2.6 because of the plug heating issues. Yes. So now it’s charged at 2.6 but anyway we left it we leave it at night so not an issue. What has been your charging practice with this car? Generally I 40% will be remaining every day and I cannot take it below 20 or something which generally people say because I next day I have to use again 60 to 70%. How much range does this car give? Uh 2.2 2 km per percentage. So around 200. 200. So you have to charge it every day. Almost every day. Yeah. So you charge it from 40 to 100. 40 to 100. Yeah. Is it? Okay. So is it is it one of the reasons why because generally it is advisable you know to drop it to at least 20%. So has Tata said anything or it’s okay because you Tata never said anything like that? Uh just the regular people who use EV cars regularly they generally say that. Tatan never said that we should do it below 20 for me. Uh they never mentioned it to me at service center. So one of the biggest questions that everybody keeps asking is what is the running cost of the battery? So at 1 lakh 40 how much have you spent on your EV in 4 years and 4 and 1/2 years? 4 and a half years how much have you spent? I can say like three lakhs including all the maintenance, fast charging, power everything maximum three lakhs. And do you use electricity or you use solar? I have solar from 1 year. Before that I used to use electricity. Now I have solar. So now we can safely say for the past 1 year you’re driving your car for free. Free. Yeah. Right. And how much did you buy this car for? Uh I got it uh 17 lakhs with 2 years extended warranty like 3 plus 2. And this is the top model ex plus lux. Z lakhs, right? And uh 17 lakhs with 1.4 lakh. So this car is already free for you. Yes. Right. Because you’ve already saved roughly 12 lakh rupees easily. Right. And even if you sell this car, because many people say that the resale value on the car, do you plan to sell this car? No. Why not? Because the battery is good. It has been replaced and the body has no issues. It’s not rusting, nothing. It’s a very strong body. So if another battery issues comes in then I might purchase a new battery but not sell a car. So you rather purchase a battery but not the and what about the rusting issues of Tata cars? Uh nothing for me as of now. Nothing. No rust never nothing. Yeah. So as long as the shell can go for you. You’re saying the battery is capable of going. Yeah. And this is 8 years warranty. Yes. 8 years warranty or 1 lakh 60,000. So I roughly I got 20,000 more of warranty. And you also have a B6. Why did you buy this car? Uh I wanted to do long runs now. Uh for this car 200 km every 150 I can’t stop and it it’s little bit painful. Yes. Yes. Yeah. And uh with friends I can do it because we will have fun but with family n they will kill me. Yeah. Well that’s true. I I have been at a receiving end of that for a very long time. But uh otherwise uh you know you say that around three lakh rupees uh with petrol and now with that it’s absolutely free of cost. So when did you buy the V6? Uh April this year. April. And how much did you buy it for? Pack 3 I believe. Uh pack 3 I got it for 28.7. And which is the car that you’re driving the most right now? Right now B6. B6. So who drives this car? This one family members go to school or vegetables. The daily ends. Daily daily daily 50 to 60 minimum. What is the current problem that you’re facing after 1 lakh 40 km on this car? Uh right now not much because we have replaced the battery in January. So it’s working fine. Little bit of door noises that’s common for the car of 4 and a half years old. That’s it. No problem. And that can be easily fixed. Yeah. At the service center. What about the AC performance? Amazing. It’s I had to change a coil. That’s it. which is obviously you know there’s a natural wear and tear that the battery always goes through so that is there but anything major like what about the headlight did you change I got the headlight replaced because the DRL was not working so they replaced it under warranty both the headlights both the headlights got replaced but uh do you think that the headlight performance is better or poor or can be better uh with the h hallogen bulbs which we used to get it was very bad you use LED uh we change LED because uh we got a deal from the Tata sales So we almost everyone in our group even they got blank. What has been your reliability when it comes to Tata? Because now you’re also owning a Mahindra. I am confident in Tata up to 120 km. After that I’m little bit worried. 120 km in the sense in a day like so you’re talking about this Nexon Prime as long as it’s running 120 125 it’s amazing. After that I am little bit spectacle because of I have to my car got stopped couple of times on the road from there like 25% battery I’m a confident after 25 no I’m not confident. Does this car still stops after 20? Uh after changing also it stopped uh twice at 16%. Okay let me let me tell you guys something. So many of these Tata cars and Tata owners including myself in my previous Nexon uh EV prime the problem was that the there used to be limp mode activated around 20 25% the car used to the there used to be a range drop battery drop and the car used to stop he’s just mentioning that that is because of the uh current the volt in your cell if the minimum cell if there is a particular cell that the voltage has dropped a lot that’s where you get these limp mode and limited performance and the car stops. Now this is where I believe Tata has actually given a software update where they they give a bottom reserve was what I understand but I believe if there is still there is a delta if there is a higher delta in this car you should show it to Tata because it should not be the case because you are charging it correctly you are not using it much so that should not be the case but would you recommend anyone because then why did you not go for the Harrier EV because it was also going on a launch or the curve EV because that also gives a very long range. Why did you go for Mahindra? Because I lost confidence in Tata. Right. Because you lost confidence in Tata. And what were those factors that made you lose confidence? After sales service like uh if you go to three different service centers, they will say different solution for the same problem, right? But still they can’t ratify it. It happened to For example, can you give us an example like uh for example AC thing? Uh one service center guy said it’s just a gas leakage. Nothing is wrong. Then he filled the gas. I paid after a couple of months it gone again. Then again I went to service center. He said no nothing is problem sir. We checked it the whole day. We run it. Nothing is happening. They filled the gas. They gave me back. Yeah. After 1 month it got again. I went with the same issue. They said like uh they took it for one day and next day they said compressor gone, coil gone, everything gone. And they gave me a bill of 97,000. You have to pay that out of your No, I I opted out. I did the service outside. I know a person who has the space of this. I took it anyway. My car is out of warranty now. Why? Why? So, uh it’s I only had warranty till 1 lakh 20,000. Oh, okay. So, it’s out of warranty. Out of warranty. So, I just went outside and fixed it and 6 months down the lane nothing. No issues. He just fixed. Why don’t they say that you should not even if it is out of warranty, don’t service it outside the service center. This being an EV. Yeah, but the thing I don’t want to spend 97,000 on a which can be fixed by 12,000 and you fixed it for 12,000,000. This is this see guys this is where you know the game of fear has been is is getting played with EVs and it it will remain. See if anybody like me for example if I’m buying an EV I will have the fear of not the car stopping but if I do anything from outside they might void the warranty. So what about that? What about this whole new lifetime warranty thing? How much of peace of mind do you get? You have it on this one. And what are your thoughts on the new Harrier? Harrier I have not seen it but I think it should be good because I after the 45 they have new software I heard like I saw videos. Yes. So it’s stable. That’s what I because the prismatic cells but the Hara has cylindrical cell but it’s not the cell and this is where people need to understand. It is not the cell. It is the BMS. Yeah. that actually maintains the health of the battery. Yes. So if Harrier would have launched before the BE6 still I will not go for Harrier because it’s look like they didn’t change much like the steering is same. It the the look is same that nothing much because I have seen the Harrier almost 2 three years now. We are in the fifth year. Yes. technically because Kona electric came in 200 I believe 17 18 or 17 17 right and it’s a fantastic car people don’t understand that uh but uh after 5 years now I feel that it’s the time when people have understood the importance and the benefits of electric car if somebody is selling a secondhand Nexon EV should they buy it and what should they look into it definitely they should buy it uh I am waiting for I asked couple of friends to buy and I’m looking in the group if someone is selling I’ll suggest my friends to buy it just they need to check the battery health and uh everything with the what is that called OBD meter OBD meter yeah okay so guys said there is a technical video that is coming out or may have already been out there for you to check so information read there are there are so many questions vidya sir that one would want to ask and you know but one more thing that I need to understand how about the performance does it still go from 0 to 100 at the same speed same no changes nothing it’s how about the product like let’s not talk about Tata okay we understood and it it’s a it’s a fact because but one more thing that I want to give credit to Tata and it’s not a sponsored video they have started the revolution of electric cars that’s why you even went for it and because of that you were able to save a lot of money a lot of money a lot of money if this would have if this would have not been Tata at that time January 2021 which car would you have gone for I had a Ford ESP so we were thinking of going for I think uh Kia Sonet was launched that time so we were looking for Kia Sonnet and then I got I saw a advertisement of a EV M then I went to the showroom those guy were those those people were also new to that they didn’t even know the technology they still don’t yeah yeah they still don’t but yeah that time was like even we don’t know but yeah I was amazed by the the the quietness of the car and the comfort of driving would you ever go back to Ice car no never never never even if it is like affordable and amazing. No, no, no. Uh that’s the you know we can’t express it until unless you drive an EV. Yeah. Then you will know like why we don’t want to go like it feels painful to see people going to petrol pump to you know fill the tank. It’s really painful and the sounds and the performance. Yeah. Performance nothing. No nothing can beat an EV. Yeah. The ease of driving the single pedal driving and everything. But people have a problem and they say But people have a problem and they say that petrol just go inside a petrol pump 5 minutes quick fuel up and you’re back on the track. What do you have to say to that? Uh at least you have to go to petrol pump. We can fuel up at home and at night we sleeping and anyway we will take a break for lunch anyway. We go with family, we take a lunch and these these days in South India, I’m not sure about North India, South India, every major restaurant on the highway have a charging like not even one of chargers. Absolutely. See again this car if you look at it from here I don’t really no one can tell the difference. Okay. So forget as I was saying that forget about the brand Tata. How about the product Nexon EV? Amazing amazing product like I can’t express the thing you need to drive it. How how could Tata have managed this whole situation because it’s a good product. We all know that Tata is trying very hard. We can see that but what is that thing that they are missing? I think software issue like before the lint mode was uh updated in the software I used to go my car till 2% and no issues like it used to what kilometer that used uh on highway I went around 216 3% battery highway so obviously it will be will be running around no at that time how many kilometers have you uh just 20,000 20 or 30,000 so when did you start facing these problems after After the software update you know the limp mode first it used to come at 10%. Which we were like okay fine 10%. Then 10% is standard standard and after 10% li mode or maybe maximum 10 km we can drive. Yeah. And then the car will not go forward. Then it’s went to 16 80 20 and last 27 and then I changed it because by that time it means you cannot drive it more than 120 km and that’s not enough for someone who have to drive 100 km on a daily basis. So I understand I understand uh from which perspective you are talking about this. So let me just give you a quick walk around of this car and sir if you can accompany us. I have to talk about these tires and we must talk about these tires. So I see you’re using Bridgestone. Yes. Tires and just have a look at the condition of these tires, right? Many people say Many people say one thing that uh EV tires worn out very fast. What do you have to say to that? How many kilometers did your tire do? Uh there’s already 70,000. This one is 70,000. Your all the tires. Your car has driven 1 lakh 40. So that means the first tires the MRF stock tires that came how many kilometers? Something 70,000 because uh the road condition to our home is bad. So there are lot of construction going on. That’s why I had to change the tires not because of war not thing because of lot of punches happening. So 20,000 km I mean that’s that’s unbelievable. And at the same time if you can show the condition of these tires which have driven how many kilometers? 12,000. 12,000. And what do you say about the condition of these? They worn out. I feel they are worn out. What about the road grip and performance? That’s good. That’s good. That is not a problem. But you feel this is worn out. Yeah. Why do you think that the performance of the MRF or the performance on the Nexon tires are more compared to the BE6? Maybe because of the weight issue, you know, it’s more than a two-turn car. So because of the weight and uh in general goodier tire like like a luxury tire like soft tire like MRF is a hard rubber that’s perfect for Indian condition generally I had my Ford EOS sport uh same thing happened like 40,000 MR goodear these are also electric tires these are with electric specific tires so if let’s say this goes on for 25,000 km will you change it and of course you will change it but what company tires will you choose I might go for MRF again because this time you went for Bridgestone in this one. But I I prefer MRF because they were very silent. This one has little bit tire noise. So Bridgestone. So So guys, this is interesting. Okay. Uh so I made a video around tires and I did MRF tires only because I personally feel that MRF tires are more Indian road friendly. Yes, I completely agree. more Indian road friendly and they are more silent compared to one of the biggest reasons why uh I believe NG vinser has a lot of inside cable noise is because of the tire that they use but one question now enough we have spoken about the uh max I mean not the max but the EV prime okay and we understood that at 1 lakh 40,000 km you are an EV driver now you are a convert 100% and there is no way but if Somebody is trying to buy an EV right now in today’s date. What do you have to tell to that person in terms of the future of EV or the longevity of an EV car? It’s the future. Like it’s the future. If you have a solar power, then it’s like sonhaga. Huh? Of course. Anything else you’d like to say? It’s the future. And should they buy? Yes, definitely. Everyone should buy it. But they say that the price difference is more. Right now, nothing. Right now it’s reduced. everything I think one lakh or maximum one.5 that’s it that’s it but when you buying this car did you consider any other car before buying the because this car was launched on my birthday I thought it was a sign so I got it so guys I hope I asked some of the questions that was on your mind 1 lakh 40,000 chalan Thank you so much once again. We will meet soon but all over India link and many people over here have taken consultation for me. This this goes on for 100 for sure. Hope you enjoyed the video. Hope you uh really really found it informative and helpful. And if you did, let me know in the comment section.
