Ferrari 849 Testarossa PHEV, 1036 Horsepower
Ferrari reaches into its past in naming its latest supercar the 849 Tessterosa. Just unveiled in Milan, the new Tessterosa replaces the SF90 Stradal at the top of the brand’s series production range. That’s not counting the multi-million dollar F80. Unlike the 1980s Tessterosa, there are no cheese grater side strakes. Instead, the defining styling element is a vertical black band midway down the body side demarking the large air intakes and a twintail treatment at the rear. The mechanical package is an evolution of the SF90 Stradales. That means the new car is a plug-in hybrid with two electric motors powering the front axle and a third located between the engine and the 8-speed dualclutch transaxle. That engine is a twinturbo 4.0 0 L V8 and a host of changes make it more powerful than the SF90s. Total output climbs to 1,036 horsepower. According to Ferrari, the Tessterosa can rip from 0 to 62 mph in 2.25 seconds and from 0 to 124 mph in 6.3 seconds. The new car is available as both a coupe and a Spider with deliveries set to begin midway through 2026. US pricing hasn’t been announced, but in its home market, the coupe starts at €460,000 and the Spider is 500K.
Ferrari has just unveiled the replacement for the SF90 Stradale: the 2027 849 Testarossa. Like its predecessor, the new 849 Testarossa is a plug-in hybrid that combines a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 with three electric motors to drive all four wheels for a total output of 1036 horsepower.
