2025 Toyota Tacoma vs 2025 Chevrolet Colorado | Toyota
The 2025 Toyota Tacoma versus the 2025 Chevrolet Colorado. Let’s find out which of these two pickup trucks offers the best blend of versatility and capability. Tacoma’s extensive lineup offers four off-road performance grades, which is more than what Chevrolet Colorado has. The available I Force Max hybrid powertrain gives Tacoma a power advantage versus Colorado. Tacoma’s two bed lengths and two cab styles mean more customizability than Colorado. Now, let’s put Tacoma and Colorado side by side. Tacoma’s eight grades include four TRD models, a choice between two bed lengths and two cab styles, and an available hybrid powertrain. Chevrolet Colorado is only available in five grades, and they’re only offered in one bed length and cab style. Tacoma’s capability really impresses. This starts with the I Force turbocharged engine with up to 278 horsepower and 317 lb feet of torque. Colorado comes standard with the Turbo Max engine with 310 horsepower and 430 lb feet of torque. There’s also an available Ice Max hybrid system with up to 326 net combined horsepower and 465 lb feet of torque. something that the Chevrolet Colorado doesn’t match. Tacoma pairs its power with off-road tuned suspensions featuring Billilstein shocks on TRD off-road, Old Man Emu shocks on Trail Hunter, and Fox shocks on TRD Pro. Colorado has a 2-in lift on the Trail Boss, and up to 3 in on the ZR2, which also comes with multimatic shocks. Tacoma also offers a stabilizer disconnect mechanism on select grades for additional off-road performance. while its limited grade standard adaptive variable suspension and available fulltime four-wheel drive system bring added on-road refinement features that Colorado lacks. Finally, Tacoma has up to an EPA estimated 23 MPG combined rating, while Colorado has up to an EPA estimated 20 MPG combined rating. Tacoma’s modern, rugged design blends style with function. This starts with available 18in alloy wheels and standard LED headlights, the latter of which is only included on select Colorado grades. Tacoma’s standard deck rail system also brings added versatility over Colorado where the reconfigurable bed rails are optional. Additionally, Tacoma’s 120 volt AC power inverters, which are rated for 400 watts in gas grades or 2,400 watts in I Force Max hybrid grades, give owners added flexibility for powering devices. Colorado’s available 120 volt box mounted power outlet maxes out at 400 W, which is similar to Tacoma’s gas grades, but can’t match the higher output of the 2,400 watt inverters on the I Force Max hybrid models. Tacoma’s impressive functionality is accentuated with an available power tailgate and available power extending running boards. Colorado has two available tailgate options, the easy lift and lower and stolex tailgates. It also offers available black assist steps as well as fixed or removable running board options. When it comes to comfort, Tacoma really delivers thanks to features like its available dual zone automatic climate control system. Colorado also offers available single and dual zone automatic climate control on select brakes. Both trucks further enhance comfort with available heated and ventilated front seats and an available heated steering wheel. And the TRD Pro’s ISOnamic performance front seats use a shock absorber system to further smooth the ride, a feature Colorado doesn’t offer. On the other hand, both Tacoma and Colorado have an available chi compatible wireless charger that’s designed to help keep mobile devices topped up on the road. Tacoma even has an available 12.3 in digital gauge cluster, which is larger than Colorado’s standard 11in driver information center. Tacoma ups the Annie with an available head-up display that’s designed to put key information in the driver’s line of sight, something that Colorado does not offer at all. In terms of audio multimedia, Tacoma has a standard 8-in touchscreen and an available 14-in unit. Colorado comes standard with an 11.3 in touchscreen. Tacoma’s interface includes standard wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay, which connects drivers to the apps on their iPhone, including maps, messages, podcasts, and music subscriptions. In addition, wireless Android Auto compatibility makes it easy to stay connected to Android devices and access various apps and services from Google, including YouTube Music and Google Maps. Plus, there’s a standard 3month Sirius XM trial subscription that includes over 165 channels available in Cabin and even more on the Sirius XM app, making it easier than ever to enjoy not just adree music, but also sports, comedy, and more. Colorado also includes wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a Sirius XM trial. Select Tacoma grades also include trials for Toyota’s line of connected services, including Safety Connect, Service Connect, Remote Connect, Wi-Fi Connect, and Drive Connect. Colorado has available OnStar services trials on select grades. Finally, Tacoma has an available 10 speakeraker JBL premium audio system, which includes a portable JBL Flex speaker that lets drivers take their tunes on the go, a feature that Colorado’s available 7 speakeraker Bose premium audio system just can’t match. [Music] All Tacoma grades come with the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 system. This includes a pre-colision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, automatic high beams, full speed range dynamic radar cruise control, lane tracing assist, road sign assist, and proactive driving assist. Colorado offers similar features as part of the Chevy safety assist suite. A panoramic view monitor is available on both trucks. Tacoma’s off-road grades include the multi-terrain monitor, while Colorado’s equivalent models have a similar feature. Plus, Tacoma has available front and rear parking assist with automatic braking, while Colorado only offers rear parking assist and rear cross traffic braking on select grades. Tacoma also has an available trailer backup guide, while Colorado offers a hitch view feature. Tacoma’s strong value is seen in its Toyota Care, which includes 2 years or 25,000 mi of scheduled maintenance, whichever comes first, and 2 years unlimited mileage, 24-hour roadside assistance. Colorado only includes one scheduled maintenance visit within 1 year or 12,000 mi, whichever comes first, and 5 years or 60,000 mi of roadside assistance, whichever comes first. Both trucks include a 3year or 36,000 mi bumper-to-bumper warranty, whichever comes first, and a 5year or 60,000 mi powertrain warranty, whichever comes first. Tacoma’s I Force Max hybrid grades also include a hybrid system warranty that covers select components for 8 years or 100,000 mi, whichever comes first, and a 10year or 150,000 mi hybrid battery warranty, whichever comes first. From its impressive capability to its noteworthy versatility, it’s no wonder why Tacoma remains such a smart choice among midsize pickup trucks. Discover Tacoma today at toyota.com. [Music]
