GST Reforms On Electric Vehicles? | TESLA Deliveries Begin in India | Electric Vehicles India

Friends, welcome back to EV News. In this video, let’s discuss some of the latest updates and interesting news related to EV industry. So without any delay, let’s dive into the video. Before that, this is Adult and you’re watching electric vehicles India. Friends, first news is from central government. As we all know, recently central government has revised the GST rates in India and especially talking about the automobiles, we saw a huge change in some categories, the GST has came down from 28% to 18%. First, let’s talk about cars. Sub4meter petrol and diesel cars GST drop down from 28% to 18%. So, this results in minimum 60 to 70,000 discounts on sub4meter petrol and diesel cars. And on three wheelers too, GST came down from 28% to 18%. And on computer bikes, GST has revised from 28% to 18%. So this will be a good news for the ones who planning to buy cars, three-wheers as well as commuter motorcycles or scooters. So many of the manufacturers, car manufacturers and two wheeler manufacturers are happy for this news because coming is the festive season and they can sell more numbers if the prices are low. They can attract more customers and they can sell in more numbers. But in automobiles itself some categories has got GST hike. So talking about the luxury cars the GST is now 40%. And on SUVs too you have to pay 40% GST. And for the motorcycles above 350 cc now the GST is 40%. So this comes under luxury segment. So you have to pay premium GST amount for these products. So this revised GST will be applicable in India from 22nd September. Coming to EVs electric vehicles there is no revision since beginning GST on electric vehicles is at 5%. There is no change in this 5%. EVs will continue at 5% slab itself. But even though electric vehicles enjoy 5% GST, some of the manufacturers are concerned about this festive season. So the prices for the petrol commuter vehicles are down now. So attracting to that prices, will EV buyers tentative to buy those petrol scooters or will they buy electric vehicles? So this is the biggest question. Now if you are in a market to buy a two-wheer for this festive season, which one will you choose? the price reduced petrol vehicle or 5% GST electric vehicles. Which one will you choose considering the future savings? Please let me know in the comments. Friends, next news is from Ather. Recently Mahindra started the deliveries of pack 2 midvariant. Still the pack 1 base variant deliveries haven’t started. I think many has pre-booked the base variant by attracting to their price but till now the deliveries of base variant haven’t started only the top end variant and midvariant deliveries are continuing now and recently Mahindra has launched a limited Batman edition in BE6 and it has sold out in just a few minutes so the demand for these electric cars are there that’s the reason they are not starting the deliveries of base variant they are pushing customers to upgrade for pack two or pack three variants how many of you bought these Mahindra’s electric cars.
