Vinfast VF6 & VF7 Walkaround | Prices, Features, Interior and Range Detailed
This is a Vietnamese coffee and that is a Vietnamese car. That’s right, that’s the Winfast VF6 which has been launched in India. In fact, Winfast is an all new electric car maker which has come to India with two models, the VF6 and the VF7. Now, what makes this brand special is the kind of uh ownership experience that you can expect if you buy either the VF6 or the VF7. Now, what I mean by that is that Infoster is giving free charging right up until July of 2028 if you buy the VF6 or the VF7. Also, the maintenance is free for the next 3 years if you buy the VF6 or the VF7. So, that’s a pretty incredible deal if you ask me. Well, for the prices, the VF6 is priced from 16.49 lakhs, whereas uh the VF7, well, it goes all the way till 25 lakhs. So you’re looking at a 10 lakh price bracket between these two cars. This is essentially a rival to cars like the Keta EV, the BA6 and the Curve EV. Uh in terms of variants and specs, this car can be had in three variants. Uh there’s earth, there’s wind and wind infinity. In terms of specs, you get two power outputs with this car. The base car gets 175 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. Whereas uh the more expensive version, it gets 201 horsepower and 310 Newton m of torque. As for the allimportant uh claimed range, well, the MIDC range for this car is 468 km for the earth variant and the wind variant has a claimed range of 463 km. As for the larger VF7, you can have this car in uh two battery pack options and a total of five variants. Starting with the Earth variant, well, it comes with a 59.6 6 kW battery pack which gives you a claimed range of around 438 km on a single charge. As for the power output, it’s similar to the VF6 which means you get 175 brake horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. The second variant is uh it’s called wind which comes with a larger 70.8 kWh battery pack and uh the power and torque output is 201 and 310 Newton meters. As for the range, the claim range for the wind variant is uh 532 km on a single charge. Finally, the BF7 also comes with uh a sky variant which gets you uh the dual motor version which uh produces around 350 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. Uh this version also comes with a claim range of around 510 km. Although the specialty of this version is the extra performance that you get because of the dual motor setup. Like I said, the unique thing about the VF6 and the VF7 is the ownership experience where you get free charging up until the end of July 2028. And also the maintenance is free on both these models for the next 3 years. Inside the VF7, well the overall look and the ambience that you get inside this car is uh pretty unique and familiar at the same time. Now I say unique because of uh this very driver oriented display. this 12.9 in screen. It it’s oriented towards the driver quite a bit. Uh it’s a nice display. It looks crisp although uh the UI is quite simple and uh the response is also not all that great. The display that you get in the Kreta EV, well, it’s far better in terms of uh the smoothness and the way you can use it. Now, in terms of features, you get this huge display. You also get level two AAS. You get a climate control system. You get this multi-function uh steering wheel. You also get uh this uh driver monitoring system which I believe will alert you if it senses that the driver is fatigued or something like that. Now you also get different drive modes and regen uh levels for this car that you can uh control through this screen. As for the quality of the materials and the look uh it looks good. You have a lot of uh soft touch finish on the dashboard on the door pads and a lot of different uh uh sense of uh different colors and different materials have been used to create this uh uh this premium look and feel. Uh the quality seems to be okay. We will be driving this car and testing it over an extended period later on to give you a full verdict. But as of now, the interior is uh quite good and for the price especially, you get a lot of stuff as standard. Getting into the back of the VF7, well uh this is the most expensive version which comes in at around 25.5 lakhs. Uh so you get this uh dual tone color interior color option for the car which looks quite nice. As for the features, uh you get all the basic stuff. You get a you get air vents over here. You get uh phone charging and also this huge fixed glass row which goes beyond your head. Now like I said uh the seat upholstery looks nice. It also feels nice but the amount of space is uh again it’s not all that great and uh also the under thigh support is quite poor because of the battery pack which means you have a raised floor and that affects your under support a bit but uh otherwise as you can see the space is pretty good. One more thing uh as you can see there are no window blinds and also this uh window it’s not very large which uh means you don’t get that airy feeling that you get in cars like the Creta or even the curve EV. Moving to the boot space of the VF7. First of all, you get a power tailgate which is pretty unique considering the price point of this car. As for the actual space uh it’s pretty okay. It’s not all that great because uh the amount of storage that you get is uh not all that great and also the width is uh quite narrow. It’s not as wide as I expected. So if you want to stuff wide large items, it is going to be a bit of an issue. But otherwise uh it looks pretty okay. Inside the interior of the VF6, well the first thing that you will notice if you uh sit in both the cars uh back to back is that the interior looks very similar. It’s actually surprising how similar the cabin of the VF6 looks uh to the VF7. Even the feature set is pretty much the same. You get level 2 A dash. You get the uh the same 12.9 in uh main infotainment display. Now the only thing that I can see this uh car is missing is that uh driver monitoring system over here. There is uh there isn’t isn’t that device uh present here. Uh you also get different layout for the door pads and the dashboard. Overall, uh it still looks pretty premium and uh good for the price, but although the VF7, it does look and feel plusher inside. So that’s the VF6 and the VF7 for you. As for uh how these cars are going to fare in the Indian market, what the brand perception is going to be like, that seems uh quite difficult to gauge right now. But I can tell you one thing for sure, it’s that Winfast is betting big in India. In fact, uh they have set up their own manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. Uh they are also planning to have showrooms in up to 27 major cities in India. In fact, overall they plan to have 35 showrooms to sell the VF6 and the VF7. As for the USP of these cars, of course, these are EVs. They will uh deliver on that premium EV experience. Now, how well they are going to fare against the competition? competition which is uh quite well established in India. Uh so cars like the Kreta EV, the Curve EV and even the BA6 how they going to compare to those cars? Well, it’s uh difficult to tell right now and we are waiting for the VF6 and the VF7 to come to Mumbai so that we can extensively test these cars. So, so the overall impression of the VF6 and the VF7 is quite good. The cars seem good. The pricing is also quite good. Uh like I said, we can’t wait to drive these cars in Mumbai for an extended period of time. So watch out for that and also make sure that you are subscribe to Carwali
