Introducing The Ultra-Light Carbon Frame Tezeus Swift Folding Electric Bike
she likes to stop this thing is silent super silent but she does like to go this could be the lightest electric bike I have ever reviewed hey everybody Monkey Wrench Mike here this is the Tasus Ortiz Swift it’s a carbon frame foldable electric bike that has a 250 W motor a 20 mph top speed 30 Newton meters of torque a 36V battery that is underneath the seat right there it will get you 37 mi of range there is a rear suspension as you can see right here and a very cool integrated screen which is right here i even have the plastic still on it so what we’re going to do in this video we’re going to give it some power we’re going to take it for a spin and then like we always do we’re going to grade it on fit form and function first things first I want to show you just how light this thing is and give you a little size proportion i’m 5’9 this comes up to it’s way below my hip we have tiny little tires they are very very thin as well as you can see but look at this 36 lb that’s exactly what this thing weighs right here and everything folds on it as well you can fold the pedals okay they’re going to fold like that you have a latch on this side right here that will release and it will allow the front of the bike to fold in just like this you can put the kickstand up you can fold it like this your handlebar will come down just like this and fold like that and look 36 lbs you’re ready to go so let’s go ride this thing yep this is an electric bike you can throw in the trunk of your car look at this thing 36 lb that’s like two sacks of dog food right there and it goes together so easy all of the latches just open up and close to securely keep the pieces intact you can push this your pedal goes back to full put your kickstand down now we are ready to take it for a ride all right very quickly this is what the uh screen looks like you can see the battery is full we’re going zero kilometers per hour so let me change this if you hold the M button which is just right over here you can get into the trip you can change the units so let’s go down we’ll go to unit hit the M button again go down miles per hour there we go okay you can also add a pin if you want to little privacy you don’t want anybody being able to just jump on this and write it off that’s okay but there we go we’re now on miles per hour we have one 2 3 4 five levels of pedal assist and a top speed like I said of 20 m an hour so let’s start off on two i love this i love the fact that it’s integrated and let’s just see what this little bike is like and little is a good word for it because it is teeny tiny these are 20-in tires we have a shifting over here we have our two brakes right here and you’ll notice something there isn’t a thumb drive you have to pedal with this so let’s just take off i’m not going to do torqueill i’m not going to go down the suspension test because I don’t have a front suspension and I have one behind me which is fine but this is a completely different way of thinking for electric bikes this is a Shimano 7-speed gear system we have Shimano brakes which are nice they are hydraulic and this thing is quiet you can feel how light it is 36 lbs that’s all let’s do some shifting here we go feel like I need to raise the seat a little bit i love the fact that they hid the battery in the seat post that is very nice thinking we’re cruising at 9 right now all these gigantic trucks and my little bitty electric bike but this is an urban bike this is so you can put it in your closet in your apartment if you want to throw it in the trunk of your car you can do that as well there’s a gear change there’s another one oh gosh this is going to make me work okay let’s do something as we come down here let’s go ahead and raise the seat a little bit i’ll show you just how easy it is hit the brakes very hard she likes to stop she really likes to stop okay oh I didn’t bring the key did I what’s cool about this is there’s actually a key because this is your battery you don’t want anybody running off with this the key locks the seat into position or this little locking system right here the key will undo that i didn’t bring the key with me so I’m kind of stuck right here that’s okay no biggie we’re just going to take it for a spin talk about how fun it is and how quiet this thing is silent super silent and I like the seat the seat seems to be a little bit wider than some of the other seats i’ve seen a seen a trend in seats let’s go up in pedal assist as we’re talking they’re getting very pretty that’s a good word for it so the seats are very pretty but they’re not so comfortable anymore this one is a comfortable seat which is great i’m just kind of going up this hill at my own pace 8 miles an hour no issues at all and this is kind of marked up your uh gear system right here i think I am in fourth gear let’s see if we can go up there we go that makes it a little bit easier man you really got to pedal on this to go anywhere it’s a small diameter if that makes sense you’re the pedals are kind of close to each other because it’s a smallalish bike we do have a lot of wind let’s just go down this way and see what she’s like shift shift shift now we’re going 13 14 15 now you can hear a little bit of the hum from the motor but she does like to go she’ll get up and go and look at how maneuverable this is look at this [Laughter] this is fun this is really really fun and once again it’s a very small bike yeah this is this is nice i do like the color the flat orange is beautiful it also comes in a blue color as well and the brakes look at that the rear brake locks up which is good the front one does not which is also good so let me get in the shade yeah this would be a great little bike for kids but they say that this will fit somebody you know 411 to 65 you can be very very tall because the uh battery under your seat goes way way way up and you know what even though it’s sunny out here it’s super sunny I can still see this color screen which is super nice we’ll do some gear shifting there we go now the torque sensor is nice it kicks in when you want it to kick in we can go down i think that’s third and we can just pedal all we want so if you’re looking for a bike that will uh force you to uh get some cardio in this is perfect this is perfect for you this is a I keep saying fun it is it’s a very small bike teeny tiny thin tires 20-in Kinder tires but it’s a good it’s a good product so light perhaps like I said the lightest electric bike I’ve ever ridden so if you live upstairs in an apartment building fold this thing up or just fold down the handlebars and put it over your shoulder 36 lb your book bag probably weighs more than that you have five or six books in there everything is going to be pretty heavy here we go all right let’s get it home we’re going to grade it on fit form and function well I got to tell you I’m smiling this little thing put a big smile on my face absolutely i’m I have heard it pronounced a couple of different ways tasus Tas Tas I don’t know the The important thing is this is a new bike it’s the Swift model you can’t even get it yet it comes out in August and the company sent this to me to kind of preview everybody and I think they have a pretty good little bike on their hands let’s go through it we have the fit the way that it was packaged they didn’t want me to show any kind of an unboxing or assembly video take it from me though this thing was very well protected and it was very easy to put together i mean minimal minimal effort required to put this thing together so we’re giving it an A on that form the way that it looks and everything well it’s like I said 36 lb 36 lb i love the color i love this it’s not just a regular tube that you’re finding on other bikes these are formed carbon fiber pieces i love this little piece right here it could be a handle if you wanted to use it you have a rear suspension right here so this whole trailing arm this will kind of bounce back and forth as you go down the road i do wish there was a front suspension not mandatory but it would certainly be welcome the tires are very very small everything is minuscule and I kind of like that i have a little MG from 1975 in the garage and it’s cute people love it every time I take it out for a drive this is cute people are going to love it every time you take it out for a ride as well all right so we’re giving it an A on form there is also a headlight i just remembered right here so this is really cool um and the fact that the battery is this piece right here love it love it love it okay as far as function this is how much I enjoyed riding it what it was like is the seat comfortable did it go fast enough for me this isn’t a speed racer it’s not an off-road bike it’s not a big 26×4 in tire this is an urban electric bike that you’re going to throw in the trunk put it in the closet of your apartment whatever put it on the motor home great idea right there and you’re going to bring it out when you want to go somewhere and I think it’s perfect for that i really really do it’s a cool little bike and I think that they do the fact that this is integrated love it so yes we’re going to give it a B i wish it was a little more powerful 30 new meters of torque you’ve got the hub motor i wish it had like 50 but that’s going to weigh more the battery is going to have to be heavier um and they went for just being light with this one they were watching their weight so we’re going to give it a B for function but overall I think this is a fun fun little bike it is a little more pricey than some of the other bikes but you’re getting carbon fiber you’re getting design you’re getting the they’ve integrated the wires into the stem right here so you don’t have all these funky wires just hanging out everywhere they wanted to make it look as good as possible and be as functional as possible and to that end I think they did it i really do so we’re going
