Kinetic Returns with an Electric Twist | DX Scooter Walkaround & Specs | OVERDRIVE
[Music] What I’m standing next to is the new Kinetic DX electric scooter. Now, this was an iconic brand which was the ice scooter back in the ’90s, which is standing right over there. And that has been reincarnated in the electric avatar, which is this. Now this has been launched at a price of 1.11 lakh rupees x showroom for the base variant and the DX plus the top model will set you back by 1.17 lakh rupees extra room. Now the bookings are open and deliveries will commence by October. Let’s see what this one is offering at this price point. To start with the peak power of the motor is around 4.6 PS. As you can see you get all LED lighting over here with indicators integrated right into it. And this again is inspired by the old model that you can see right over there. Right down here you have the new Kinetic logo. This is illuminated as well. And down here the Kinetic DX runs on 12-in wheels with disc brakes up front. 22 mm disc brakes. And you have a telescopic suspension up front. Now the footboard here, it’s also big and it has still been made keeping in mind that you can carry cylinders on it like the old model uh used to do. Now when it comes to seating, you have a single piece seat over here. You have some red stitching right over here. You get grab rails for the pillion and I think it looks really nice. You have a hub motor right over here with a dual-sided shocks. This actually looks quite nice and even the rear setup has also been kept quite clean. Now, it has a couple of party tricks to start with. The footboard right over here. You don’t have to use your hands. There’s a small button right over here. If you press it, it flicks right open, which is quite cool. And when it comes to the instrumentation, you have an 8.8 in LED screen right over here. And also, Kinetic believes that keys are something now. They are old-fashioned. So, they have a a keypad right over here. It is just like a digital locker. So, a passcode is entered here to start your bike. And also it comes with a gamut of features to start with if someone is trying to enter wrong pin code for 10 times. This will alert you. There’s geo fencing. There’s also find my kinetic. And there’s one feature that I like particularly is the kinetic assist. You don’t have to call someone with your phone. You just have to press this button right over here and automatically there will be a person assisting you for any problems that you will have with this. Now, another feature that I like about this scooter is that you don’t have to carry a charger separately in your boot. There is a charger right over here. Right now, I’m not able to open it, but if you just press it, it has a retractable plug. You can just pull it out and you can plug it in your socket and you can start charging your scooter. Now, this one gets three ride modes. It has turbo, range, and sport. The kinetic DX houses a 2.5 kWh battery that makes around 6.6 PS of power. Now the claimed range here is 116 km and the top speed is 90 km/h. But there is a catch here. The there’s a cruise control lock in. So they have optimized that speed. So if you ride this scooter from 25 km/h to 35 km/h. The company claims that it can deliver a range of 150 km which is way more than the clean range on a single charge. When it comes to the boot space, like I mentioned before, it’s actually quite big. It has 37 L of boot space which is capable of fitting two helmets right into this.
