2025 Toyota Tundra vs 2025 Chevrolet Silverado Comparison | Toyota

The 2025 Toyota Tundra versus the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado. Which of these full-size pickups brings the most well-rounded capability? Let’s find out. Tundra’s Standard i-FORCE
twin turbo V6 engine produces more horsepower than Silverado’s base turbocharged engine and its optional 5.3-liter V8 engine. Tundra’s tech brings added
convenience for towing or when driving off-road. Available features like
massaging front seats, power panoramic moonroof, and heated and ventilated
outboard rear seats bring added comfort to
Tundra’s premium grades. Now let’s put Tundra and
Silverado side by side. Tundra’s seven-grade lineup
offers plenty of choices, there are premium models, off-road variants, two cab styles, three bed lengths, two or four-wheel drive configurations, and, as if all this wasn’t enough, an available hybrid powertrain too. Silverado also offers seven grades and while it does not
offer a hybrid powertrain, it does have an available
turbocharged diesel engine on certain models. Tundra impresses by offering
more standard horsepower than Silverado can muster. Its standard i-FORCE
twin-turbo V6 engine generates up to 389 horsepower and
479 pound-feet of torque, Silverado falls behind with its base 310-horsepower
turbocharged engine and optional 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8. Tundra’s performance is amped
up further by its potent i-FORCE MAX hybrid system with
437 net combined horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque, giving it more power and
torque than Silverado’s available 6.2-liter V8. For improved off-road-performance, Tundra TRD Pro includes
TRD Pro-tuned suspension with Fox Shocks, while Silverado has an
available lifted suspension with available Multimatic
Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve Dampers. Tundra also has an available
Adaptive Variable Suspension, which electronically varies damping rates to match the road surface, resulting in a ride that’s oh so smooth. On the other hand, Silverado does offer Adaptive Ride Control on select grades. Meanwhile, Tundra has a maximum payload of up to 1,940 pounds, and max towing capacity of 12,000 pounds. On the other hand, Silverado has a max payload capacity of 2,260 pounds, as well as a max towing
capacity of 13,300 pounds. Plus, Tundra has an available
Load-Leveling Rear Height Control Air suspension that
Silverado doesn’t have, which brings added stability and handling by keeping the body level
when carrying heavy loads. Tundra’s rugged design
hints at its off-road chops, just consider the TRD Pro grade’s heritage inspired Toyota grille
with integrated light bar. And while Silverado has
off-road-oriented trim on its Trail Boss and ZR2 grades, and a blackout treatment in its RST grade Rally Edition Package, these features lack the motorsport legacy that’s built into Tundra’s
new TRD Rally Package. The TRD rally package includes 18-inch TRD Off-Road alloy wheels
with all-terrain tires, an off-road suspension
with Bilstein shocks, a TRD exhaust, a Tri-color decal on the grille, front door, tailgate, plus
the interior of the vehicle, a red TRD engine start/stop button, and sport pedals. Both trucks do feature an
available power tailgate, and power-retractable running boards with a retractable bed step. However, Silverado doesn’t
have any equivalent to Tundra’s standard
aluminum-reinforced composite bed, which offers lighter weight and added corrosion resistance
over Silverado’s steel bed. Step inside the 2025 Tundra’s cabin and experience premium features like an available heated steering wheel, available heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, and available heated and
ventilated outboard rear seats. Chevrolet Silverado has an
available heated steering wheel, available heated and
ventilated front seats and heated outboard rear seats, but no massaging front seats or ventilated outboard rear seats. Additionally, select Tundra grades really add that premium feel with available genuine wood trim, available two-tone interiors, and an available panoramic moonroof, which Silverado can’t match with its standard-sized power sunroof. For added convenience, both trucks have an available
Qi-compatible wireless charger that’s designed to keep
smartphones charged, while an available 12.3-inch
digital gauge cluster and an available head-up display put important information
front and center. The Toyota Audio Multimedia
Platform on Tundra makes cutting-edge connectivity standard. There’s a standard eight-inch and an available 14-inch touchscreen, the latter of which outsizes
Silverado’s available 13.4-inch touchscreen. This interface includes
standard wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay, which connects drivers to the apps on their iPhone,
including maps, messages, podcasts, and music subscriptions. In addition, wireless
Android Auto compatibility makes it easy to stay
connected to Android devices and access various apps
and services from Google including YouTube Music and Google Maps. It also includes a standard three-month SiriusXM trial subscription, which includes over 165
channels available in-cabin, and even more on the SiriusXM app, making it easier than ever to
enjoy not just ad-free music, but also sports, comedy, and more. Silverado also includes
wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as SiriusXM trials. Select grades also include trials for Toyota’s line of Connected Services, including Safety Connect
and Service Connect. Silverado also has
available OnStar services on select grades. And for a high-fidelity
listening experience, Tundra’s available 12-speaker
JBL Premium Audio system has more speakers than
Silverado’s available seven-speaker Bose system. All Tundra grades come with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 system. This includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, Full-Speed Range Dynamic
Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, and Road Sign Assist. And while Silverado’s Chevy Safety Assist includes similar features, adaptive cruise control is a standalone option on select grades. Blind Spot Monitor with
Rear Cross-Traffic Alert is also available and includes a Trailer Merge Warning system. Silverado offers a similar
system on select grades called a Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert with Hitch Guidance. For added convenience, Tundra’s available Trailer
Backup Guide is designed to make backing up a trailer a breeze and provides added steering assistance, the latter of which is a function that Silverado’s available
Advanced Trailering System does not have. Meanwhile, the available
Panoramic View Monitor and available Front
and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking help the driver maneuver the vehicle in tight spaces. Tundra can also be equipped with an available Multi-Terrain Monitor, which lets the driver see around the vehicle when driving off-road. Every 2025 Tundra comes with ToyotaCare, which includes two years or 25,000 miles of scheduled maintenance whichever comes first, and two years, unlimited mileage 24-hour
roadside assistance. Silverado includes industry
standard warranties plus one scheduled maintenance visit, five years or 60,000 miles
of roadside assistance and courtesy transportation,
whichever comes first. And a Tundra’s hybrid grades raise the value proposition further thanks to a hybrid system warranty that covers select components for 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, and a 10-year or 150,000-mile
hybrid battery warranty, whichever comes first. With its advanced powertrains
and off-road features as well as advanced safety aids and driver-oriented technologies, it’s no wonder why the
Toyota Tundra remains such a smart choice
