Review | Spacewalk M7 Ebike
[Music] Hey guys, welcome back to the channel. Let me introduce you to the Ilio Spacewalk M7 electric bike. Ilio does have the M6 version for teens. This is the M7 version for adults. This bike comes with the 20×4 in fat tires. So, let me show you how I look on the bike. I am 6′ tall, 215 lbs. I can step over the bike. I do have a few inches below me here. So, somebody that’s a little bit smaller than 6′ tall could also ride this bike. This bike comes with a nice long comfortable bench seat. And this thing has full suspension. It has the dual crown fork up front. You also do have these springs and shock absorbers on both sides in the rear. This thing does have a nice float and bounce to it. I’ve been riding it down this dirt road. It’s a lot more comfortable than the hard tail bikes that I’ve been riding lately. The bike comes with a 750 W motor. It also comes with a 15 amp hour battery, so you should be able to get at least 20 to 25 miles of electric only range out of this bike. Of course, if you put in a lot of pedal assist, you might get even more range than that. Bike does come with large 180 mm disc rotors and mechanical disc brakes. Here’s a look at those rear shocks. I do believe these are just for aesthetics, but you do get these springs, and it looks like there’s a shock absorber inside. Here’s a look at your 20×4 in back tires. They are knobbyby tread pattern tires. You do get the large headlight up front that has the single beam in the middle and the halo around it. Pretty cool headlight. This bike does come with turn signals in the rear. That’s pretty impressive for a budget eBike. This is how it lights up with the brake lights. The bike does come with the basic M5 display. Uh, no color, but these have big speedometer readings. Uh, you get your large pedal assist reading. Here’s your odometer. This bike is set up with three levels of pedal assist right out of the box. You simply press the plus and minus right here. Pedal assist 2, pedal assist 3. This is your battery energy bar up here at the top. This is your Shimano seven-speed derailure shifter. And the bike does have the little quarter twist throttle. This is what your headlight switch looks like and your turn signal switch. And you get a very loud horn on this bike. Does come with the Nico branded headset. Here’s a look at your 15 amp hour 48volt battery. says that right there. 48 volts, 15 amp hours. Does get the power level indication on the top. Looks like we’re one bar down. I’ve been riding this thing 8 miles already. Here’s a look at your crank set. It does have longer crank arm, so you should be able to get some pretty good torque out of those. Does have some plastic pedals. This is a little bit smaller of a uh a crank here. So, when you get up to top speed, you are just about ghost pedaling. So, you can really only pedal it comfortably up to about 20 mph. You do get the Shimano turn derailer in the rear and your seven-speed cassette. There’s a look at the numbers on your motor. 48 volt 20 in 750 watts. Best feature of the bike is this thing looks great. It’s got a really cool frame. Got the long bench seat and you get that cool rack extension. Bike also comes with plastic fenders. All right, guys. Let’s ride this thing a little bit more. Let’s go through these pedal assist levels real quick. Start out here on pedal assist level one. Gives you a nice casual 9 miles per hour if you just want to cruise through a crowd or something. Let’s bump it up to two. Going to have to shift up This is set up right now with uh three pedal assist levels. So, all right, pedal assist level two is giving us 15 and 12 miles per hour. Let’s do pedal assist level three. Get into gear seven here. 24.8 and I’m just about ghost pedaling. That is the top speed of the bike. It’s pretty hard to pedal that fast. So, it is set up for uh three levels of pedal assist at the moment. You probably could get into the display and switch it over to five levels of pedal assist if you want. Usually, you can do that on the M5 displays. All right, guys. Let’s do a quick acceleration run here. 0 to 20. [Music] This bike is a 750 W motor. There’s 20 Let’s do a little brake test here. Pull it from about 15. You do get a little bit of noise on these brakes. They are mechanical disc brakes. The bike does have a nice long bench seat, so you can sit up close to the handlebars if you want, or you could scoot way back. This bike actually does have that extended rack in the rear. You could even put a uh a seat pad back there on that extended rack if you wanted to. I do like the throttle response on this bike. Uh you can do part throttle. It’s not an all or nothing throttle. So if you just want to cruise at low throttle, you can do that. Oh yeah, man. This thing is dead accurate. 17 18. Yeah. Got a real accurate speedometer. These bikes have real good turning radius due to the way the frame is shaped here. because you can do a a real hard lock over on the uh steering. So, let’s see if we can turn around right here in this lane. Yeah, the bike can pretty much turn around in its own length, which is uh that’s pretty impressive actually. So, yeah, these bikes have a nice cool BMX styled handlebars. Uh you can get some extra lights up here or something. Uh, you could put a Bluetooth speaker up here, some extra lights, take this little reflector off if you don’t want it. White comes with a real loud horn. You get your headlight, you get your turn signals. I’ll show you those turn signals and headlight at night cuz uh, sun is going down here pretty soon. So, I might as well show you what the lights look like at night. [Music] [Music] What happened over here? Looks like they put down some grass seed or something. Take a nice cozy ride down the woods here. I’m telling you, man, this thing is uh real comfortable with that rear suspension. I’ve been riding hard tails lately, and this thing’s got a real nice bounce to it in the rear. That long bench seat helps out a lot, too. I’ve been riding more uh bicycle I’ve been riding more bicycle style bikes for the last couple weeks. So, it’s kind of nice to be back on a moped style. Hey there, buddy. That’s a donkey. I seen a donkey. Oh, I mean, sorry, that was a mule. Who am I talking about donkey? That was a mule, I believe. It’s been so hot the last few days. Like so hot like where you don’t even want to go outside. And it’s just amazing. Right before sunset, it feels great. Got a nice cool feeling in the air due to the humidity. Of course, it feels a lot better while you’re rolling on an ebike. Say hi to the horses there. Hey guys. I don’t know if they’re guys or girls to be honest, but they both look like twins though. They got brown horses. They both got a matching white spot on their heads and they got the same mane and everything. This one has a little bit longer mane, but he looks a little bit bigger. So, yeah. But pretty much like twins. Interesting. Is there such a thing as twin horses? I have no idea. If you do know, let me know in the comments below. Anyhow, on these uh July dog days of summer, it’s nice to ride and watch the sunset. You don’t get sunburned, you don’t get too hot, and you got real nice views. See how many people are playing tennis. What day of the week is it? Tuesday. Tuesday tennis day, I guess. Thought it was supposed to be taco Tuesday. [Music] [Applause] This one has a pretty quiet geared hub motor. Doesn’t really make too much noise at all. You can You can hear it, but you can just barely hear it. Uh-oh. I got to be careful here cuz I got the tires aired up. up. You want to be careful having your tires fully aired up and then going out on some gravel cuz they try to slip out from under you. If you’re going to be riding gravel roads all the time, you definitely want to have your tires aired down a bit, maybe somewhere down around 12 or 15 PSI or something. It’s going to hurt your uh range, but that’s better than better than wiping out on the gravel road. See there? You see how I got a little bit sideways? I’m not even going fast or riding crazy or anything like that. You just hit a little hit a little dip in the road and this gravel can wipe you out quick. So, it’s probably best just not to go super fast on a gravel road. It’s the bigger gravel that really gets you. The fine gravel uh doesn’t seem to be as sli as slippery. See these big rocks? If you get on a road like this where it’s hard packed, it has a lot more grip. And I’m wearing shorts today, so I don’t plan on going down if I can help it. Knock on wood. We ain’t got no wood. This is my favorite part of the ride right here. I’m going get this headlight on now. It’s not quite dark enough yet, but I want to be able to I want people to see me coming cuz this is a black bike. On the M6 version, I have the orange one, the orange color. I kind of like this M7 version, the larger version in black myself. We’ve got 10 plus miles in on this ride so far. Still showing about 2/3 battery. Cutting the corner. [Music] Woohoo! Well, let’s make a run down to 2/3 battery. Let’s see what speed she’ll get at 2/3 battery. It was still getting up to 24 miles an hour. I did a little tuck. This bike is most comfortable right right here around 20 18 20 mph. The bike feels perfect. Hits the bumps just right. So, it’s a pretty good cruiser at that speed. I can tell you this uh Ilio M7, it definitely has a leg up on other budget bikes when it comes to being uh full suspension. A lot of bikes in this price range are are hard tails in the rear, and it it’s making all the difference in the world riding with these two shocks on the back. like it just feels so so much smoother, so much better over the bumps. So, this bike definitely has an advantage in that area. This is going to be my uh last segment of this ride. I’m going to take this thing down here. Let’s see if we can get down to the creek with it before sunset. [Music] I was down here the other day. It’s a pretty neat little spot. Woohoo! Down here on the next gravel road. Going way too fast. It’s almost as if I forgot what we talked about with the gravel. All right, guys. Let’s see if we can get down here. Oh, yeah. Not as much water as the other day. This thing was nice and flooded the other day. Getting a little dark. You can see our headlight there on the rocks. So, I’m going to sum this bike up real quick for you here before I head on home. Uh, it’s a nice road cruiser. It likes to cruise around the 20 mph. Feels perfect on this bike. We have put 13 miles on this ride and the battery is still uh dancing in between the 2/3 area. So, I think this thing is pretty efficient. It appears. It’s looking like you’re going to be able to get uh 25 to 30 m possibly out of this 15 A battery on this bike. Um probably because we’re not going 35 m an hour like some of the other bikes go. Uh the speeds that this is most comfortable at around 20 is a lot more efficient on the battery. So, that’s a plus side there. Some other pluses is I love the bench seat. I love the full suspension on the bike. I’ve been having a real comfortable ride on this thing. Takes bumps nicely. It’s not a high dollar suspension or anything like that, but compared to a hard tail bike, this thing is plush, man. Um, I do think it looks super cool as we discussed with that nice looking frame that this bike has, I like the black color on this one, and the black and red looks good together. the accents. The motor is not a super strong hill climber or anything like that. It actually feels like the power ramps up a little bit more as you get up to speed. Uh just the way that thing is geared. It’s more of a road cruiser bike, but it still has enough torque to get you up a small hill like that over there. Another positive is this thing comes at a budget price. Another positive is this thing has that super tight turning radius I showed you early on. This thing can pull a U-turn within its own bike length. I mean, it’s super maneuverable. Now, downsides. My list of downsides is pretty short on this bike. I really like the bike. Uh the downsides, the weak point of this bike is going to be those budget mechanical brakes. They do get the bike stopped, uh but they make some noise. But there’s a good side to that also because, uh brakes are real easy to upgrade. You can put some hydraulic brakes on this or get some upgraded brake pads for these brakes. And uh that’s a real easy fix. Don’t let that stop you from buying the bike because uh brakes are pretty easy. All right, guys. That’s a look at the Ilio Spacewalk M7 electric bike. Super cool little bike, man.
