Cheapest plug-in hybrid SUV? Maybe! The Geely Starray EM-i launches soon. #geely #suv #cars
you need to know about the plug-in hybrid behind me that’s coming to Australia soon. This is the new Jile Starray EMI and it adds a plug-in hybrid to Gile showrooms which are currently populated only by that vehicle, the EX5 which is one of the cheapest EVs you can buy here in Australia. The Starray EMI is based on the same platform as the EX5. It’s a tiny bit bigger, but importantly, it adds a petrol engine under the bonnet here, which is going to extend your range out to over 900 ks WLTP. Your electric range is just under 100 km. You can plug it in to charge it, or you can just run it as a hybrid and it’ll get about 6 L per 100 ks on a dead battery. As you can see here, it’s familysized, big back seat. And going into the front seat, this one’s got the light colored interior, but there will also be a darker color available in Australia. Big 15in screen, a 10-in screen for the driver. A pretty nice interior, particularly because with the EX5 EV kicking off in the 40 grand range, we’re thinking the plug-in hybrid may even start a little bit beneath that. Now, main rivals to this vehicle are things like the BYD Sea Line 6, but also the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, which is uh pretty expensive. At least it was in prefaceelift form. So, what do you think of the Jill Starray EMI?
