The New Moke Electric Car
[Music] This is the Moch electric car based on the old 1960s Moch, which was sort of a uh a little beach wagon with a tiny little engine that people would use to to cruise around. Originally designed as a military vehicle in the ’60s, the military didn’t want it, so people ended up using them at the beach and they made a lot of them in Australia. So, this is the new spiritual ancestor of the original Moch. Moch being the a word for mule, I believe, an old English word for mule. And this moch is powered by an electric motor and it has a top speed of 25 mph. So it’s officially classified as a low-speed electric vehicle. So whatever that means where you live, you can drive it on on roads that are up to 25 mph. So this would be something you use to go to the beach or to take your kids to school or go get groceries, but you can’t drive it on the freeway or really any big road in America. But it has the classic Moch look and the classic Moch name. Here is a vintage Moch. So you can see they’ve retained all of the styling and you still if if you’re nostalgic for these, especially if you’re Australian or English, you’ll remember what they are and see this car and say, “A man, I remember those days.” And here’s a good look at the electric motor. You can get different batteries for different ranges along with it as options. The starting price is $25,475 in the USA as of whenever this video is released. And so you pretty standard electric motor there in the front. There’s all the details. And it’s just a lightweight little cruiser that you can use. Has four seats in it. You probably get a roof for it. And then it’s got some compartments there because there’s not a lot of compartments on the inside of it, but there’s a glove box type compartments there next to the passenger seats. And then you do get a locking trunk as well where you can put whatever else you need to lock up.
