I’ve got this brand new TRE FX Plus1. Loving this TRE FX Plus1. Trek’s answer to the direct to consumer bikes that have blown up in sales, popularity, ownership, and ridership. And that is a killer legacy warranty backbone. This is Trek’s first rear hub bike and its 500 watt delivery is impressive. It’s also Trek’s first ebike with a throttle. This bike is awesome. It’s their first Trek really that has a throttle. So, they have a throttle on it and it also has a uh a rear hub. It has a 500 W rear hub and it feels really nice. I’m impressed. It has the usual trek assemblage of top-notch Bonrogger components like a comfortable seat, a kickstand, which I’d call a must for an ebike. It’s kitted out with really nice lights both in the front just below the handlebars, as well as a stylish rectangular rear light just under the the seat. It has some new Shimano drivetrain. The brakes are solid, shifting is smooth, and you can wheel this out the door onto a trail just like the WOD here in Northern Virginia for just a little under $2,000. It’s really a pretty stellar deal. So, there’s mid up to high. And then now here’s that new throttle. Now, this one I might refer to as the California version. It’s a class 2. It’s limited to 20 mph, but I’d say this is the nicest riding class 2 hub motor I’ve ever ridden. It’s a great bike. It’s really nice. They also offer a class 3, which is 28 mph. That version, the Trek FX Plus 1S, it was sold out and none of those were on the showroom floor for test rides. Admittedly, I’ve been a class 3 snob, but this incredibly well-performing class 2 simply said it impressed me. I tried out a large-siz bike, which fits my 5 foot 10, 195 lb self perfectly, and I’d add that this bike is light, right around the 40 lb range. Now, for a quick ride down the trail, this is a really nice riding bike. That’s the best thing to do. Whatever you If you don’t like people staring at you, just give them a friendly little look and maybe smile. with the True FX Plus one throttle, 500 watt rear hub, nice drivetrain, nice wheels. It’s lightweight. It runs super nice. It has that kind of mag safe thing. Doesn’t have a removable battery. That’s the one part that I struggle with. I like a removable battery since I’m a commuter. This bike checks the boxes. It’s a damn good bike.
