2025 Toyota Corolla Cross vs 2025 Subaru Crosstrek | Toyota
The 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross versus the 2025 Subaru Crosstrek. Let’s discover which of
these compact crossover SUVs stands out the most. Corolla Cross’ 169 standard
horsepower gas engine beats out Crosstrek’s
152-horsepower base engine by a noteworthy amount. Plus, Corolla Cross’
available hybrid powertrain also beats out Crosstrek’s
available 2.5-liter engine too. Corolla Cross’ standard
rear seat air vents, rear seat armrest, and
available power liftgate mean more conveniences than Crosstrek. Both Corolla Cross’ gas and hybrid grades offer higher EPA-estimated
MPG ratings than Crosstrek. Now let’s put Corolla Cross
and the Subaru Crosstrek side by side. Corolla Cross offers 7 grades with available all-wheel
drive and hybrid powertrains. And for 2025, the Nightshade edition
again offers all-wheel drive and a hybrid powertrain. On the other hand, the 2025 Subaru Crosstrek’s 5-grade lineup has standard all-wheel drive
but no hybrid powertrain. The 2025 Corolla Cross’
standard two-liter engine produces 169 horsepower, that’s more than Crosstrek’s
standard 152-horsepower, two-liter engine. Its available hybrid system makes 196 net combined horsepower, more than Crosstrek’s available 182-horsepower, 2.5-liter engine. Corolla Cross’ available
all-wheel drive system on gas grades and the standard Electronic
On-Demand All-Wheel Drive on hybrid grades are designed to operate on-demand, allowing it to operate
in front-wheel drive mode and helping improve efficiency when added traction isn’t required. Crosstrek’s all-wheel drive system can’t pull off this trick. And both the gas and hybrid versions of Corolla Cross win out
when it comes to MPG. There’s up to an EPA-estimated
32 miles per gallon combined rating on the gas grades and an EPA-estimated 42 miles
per gallon combined rating on the Hybrid grades. On the other hand, Crosstrek has up to an
EPA-estimated 29 miles per gallon combined rating. Finally, Corolla Cross
Hybrid comes standard with a sport-tuned suspension, which is a feature that
Crosstrek does not offer at all. For 2025, Corolla Cross
offers two distinct lines: the refined look of the L grades, and the sporty S grades. There’s even a new
model-exclusive exterior color – Soul Red Crystal. And of course there’s the
Corolla Cross Nightshade, which is now available in Wind Chill Pearl with a Jet Black Roof
for a striking contrast. This stylish trim includes 18-inch all-black
finish alloy wheels, and blackout details like exterior badges, outside door handles, and roof rails. Corolla Cross and Crosstrek both have an available power moonroof. Finally, there’s an
available power liftgate – a feature that Crosstrek leaves out. When it comes to the interior, Corolla Cross blends
style with functionality and throws in elevated
tech for good measure. Corolla Cross’ available
7-inch digital gauge cluster beats out the 4.2-inch color LCD display that’s found on Crosstrek. But both models do a good job of making a 10-way power-adjustable
driver seat available. Corolla Cross and Crosstrek
both have available heated front seats, but while Corolla Cross
has a power one-touch auto up/down function
on all of its windows, Crosstrek only has this
feature on the front windows. Finally, Corolla Cross has
standard rear seat air vents while Crosstrek is missing this feature. The Toyota Audio Multimedia platform strengthens Corolla Cross’ value. This interface includes
standard wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay, which connects drivers to
the apps on their iPhone, including maps, messages,
podcasts, and music subscriptions. In addition, wireless
Android auto compatibility makes it easy to stay
connected to Android devices and access various apps
and services from Google including YouTube music and Google Maps. Crosstrek also has standard
wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Corolla Cross’ standard
3-month SiriusXM trial includes over 165 channels
available in-cabin – and even more on the SiriusXM app – making it easier than ever to enjoy not just ad-free music, but also sports, comedy, and more. Crosstrek also includes a SiriusXM trial. Finally, Corolla Cross
comes with standard trials to Toyota’s lineup of Connected Services including Safety Connect, Service Connect, and Wi-Fi connect, while Crosstrek has its available Starlink Connected Services. All Corolla Cross grades come with the Toyota
Safety Sense 3.0 system. This includes a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, Full-Speed Range Dynamic
Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. Crosstrek’s EyeSight
system has similar features to Toyota Safety Sense, and Blind Spot Monitor with
Rear Cross-Traffic Alert is optional on both models. Finally, while Corolla Cross has available Front and Rear Parking Assist
with Automatic Braking, Crosstrek limits itself to just
a reverse automatic braking only on its Limited and Wilderness grades. Corolla Cross’s strong value
is seen in its ToyotaCare, which includes two years or 25,000 miles of scheduled maintenance,
whichever comes first, and two years unlimited mileage, 24-hour roadside assistance. Crosstrek comes with various
industry standard warranties, which includes three years or 36,000 miles of roadside assistance. Corolla Cross Hybrid also
includes a hybrid system warranty that covers select components for 8 years or 100,000
miles, whichever comes first, and a hybrid battery warranty for 10 years or 150,000
miles, whichever comes first. The 2025 Corolla Cross
checks so many boxes. From its efficient power
and practical interior to its eye-catching style
and intuitive tech features, this compact crossover SUV
truly is a smart choice. Discover this great model
