EVERY new EV and PHEV coming to Australia this YEAR and next YEAR!
australia has so many electric cars right now there is actually 97 different models you can buy and new models are coming every single month that’s EV only if you add plug-in hybrids and e-revs they’re coming as well we’re going to have hundreds the market will be swamped not just by crazy amounts of EVs and plug-in hybrids and e-res from China but also from Europe and even from America guys there is literally nowhere you can find this information if you Google for this all the new electric cars all the new plug-in hybrids coming to Australia there is no up-to-date information so I thought let’s look at all these new brands not just new models but new brands are coming there’s actually five new brands coming and a mountain of new models hello my friends welcome to the channel great to have you with us thank you for tuning in and supporting the channel now let’s start with some of the new models that are coming this year we’re meant to be getting the new the AON brand now AON actually make Toyota’s EVs for them in China they’re pretty damn good and last year they were selling around 50,000 EVs every single month they actually have their own proprietary batteries they use a a sponge battery which has very very high energy density and it enables one of their models in fact an SUV to have 1,000 km of range as of yet we don’t know if they’re bringing that SUV the AON the AON Y they might be but we do know that they’re bringing a an electric hatchback which is a similar size to the BYD Dolphin that’s meant to be coming this year another brand that’s coming is Redara redara are bringing the RD6 electric and – hybrid ute so two models they bring two basically two models of the same car there’s an electric version of the same car and a hybrid or an e-re version of that same vehicle those those that’s going to really be probably the first electric pickup truck to market along with the the new LDV electric pickup truck which is on the market I believe within the next four to five months next brand that’s coming is meant to be Aways aways so they’re revealing a new model going to be on sale this year in Australia not 100% certain what that is but they might be coming as well in addition IM Motors im Motors are the luxury car arm of MG so you think MG cars well sort of like the AMG of MG cars is IM Motors and they’re bringing three different models to Australia now let’s look at all the models first we’ll look at the EVs first then we’ll have a quick look at some of the plug-in hybrids but when I reference BYD I’m just going to talk about all the cars BD are actually bringing now I already mentioned Aways we’ll go alphabetically but there is also new EVs coming from Audi audi have just brought out the Q6 Ron and the SQ6 Ron which are pretty compelling they bringing out the Ron GT update later this year which is their electric supercar there is also the Audi A6 Ron and the Audi S6 Ron in addition to that there is also the Q6 Ron Sportback most of those models are meant to be coming this year byd all right BD bringing out a bunch of cars first of all they are bringing out an updated Dolphin they are refreshing the BD Dolphin that’s expected in early 2026 the Buy 803 update refresh that’s coming as well there is going to be a Buddy Shark 6 cab chassis so a a different variant of the Body Shark there’s also going to be an updated version of the Body Shark 6 the obviously they’re obviously their plug-in hybrid ute from BYD they’re doing a 3 and 1/2 ton version the current version is 2 and 12 ton they’re bringing out a new 3 and 1 half ton version for people who want to do lots of towing but BD is a bit of a tough one cuz they’re bringing so many different models to market they’re actually bringing out some other models as well the ADO2 is coming that’s going to be the most affordable electric SUV in Australia it’s almost guaranteed it’s going to be around $35,000 Australian it’s a relatively small electric SUV it’s sort of similar size to the Kia EV3 4.2 m long so a little bit smaller than a little bit smaller but a bit more boxy than the BYOD 803 range is meant to be around 400 km and it’s going to be yeah like I said it’s probably probably going to sell really well considering this is the kind of car that a lot of people want an affordable electric uh midsized crossover or small crossover bid are also bringing the Cine 8 which is meant to land in the first quarter of next year it’s a seven seat plug-in hybrid SUV so there’s really a fair few rivals to this already there’s the Kia Sarrento the Hyundai Santa Fe the Toyota Kuga the Mazda CX80 and the JQ J but remember I mean Zeer will also said to be bringing in a plug-in hybrid xping have a plug-in hybrid as well there’s a lot of new models coming byd though they’re also bringing in their Denza brand so that’s another new brand coming to Australia now before I get on to that though I’ll just quickly explain the Cine 8 it actually has a 35.6 kWh battery lithiumion phosphate blade battery and there is two options right there’s a dual mode there’s a powertrain with one motor and there’s a powertrain with two two electric motors the electric only ranges 175 km or 215 km with the on the CLTC cycle so real world range of this EV plug-in hybrid I should say is around 170 km that’s pretty good 0 to 100 is 4.9 seconds could be an ideal family car for a lot of people byd are bringing in their Denza brand they once had a joint venture partnership with Mercedes-Benz so they ended up completely buying out that partnership with Mercedes now they own the Denza brand 100% they’re bringing what is called kind of a weird name Fangqing Bao in China they’re calling it the Denza B5 in Australia 4.8 m long about close to 4.9 m pretty similar size to a Ford Everest real rival for something like a family car like a Toyota Prao it’s going to come to Australia plug-in hybrid very boxy traditional a lot of Australians like this kind of shaped car and that’s coming to Australia I believe in the third quarter of this year it’s going to be a plug-in hybrid as I said with a 32 kW battery aboutund about 100 km of electric only range it’s sister car the bigger version of the bow 5 the bow 8 is also coming to Australia the bow 8 will have a bigger battery to make up for the fact that it’s a bigger car it’s got a 38 kWh blade battery once again plug-in hybrid and apparently range will be about 1,000 km on the dual cycle so using both the battery and the engine anyhow that car is quite large it’s bigger than a total Land Cruiser 300 series it’s about 5.2 m long it’s also extremely heavy 3,300 kg anyhow two cars coming premium cars from the Denza BYD brand to Australia this year alpine alpine are bringing out well they’re bringing out a couple of EVs apparently but we do know they’re bringing out the A290 uh and another vehicle called the A390 based on the Renault Nissan Mitsubishi CMF EV platform the Rena Ech and Nissan ARA the new Alpine A390 is 4,650 mm long and about 1.9 m wide it’s actually um not a big car it’s sort of a very similar size to the J EX5 if you’ve seen one of those driving around a little bit bigger than a BD3 but it’s got a fair bit of space on the inside it’s got 532 L boot it’s a relatively heavy car it’s 2,100 kg however it’s quite fast as a GTS version with 345 kW 808 new m performance is crazy 3.9 seconds 0 to 100 it has a 90 kWh battery pack providing 555 km of range so Alpine that is the cystic brand to Renault basically basically the premium version of the Renault brand bmw they’re bringing out the new EX-3 the new iix3 uses similar battery cells to what Tesla use in the United States 4680 cylindrical battery cells not made by Tesla but made by another company called AS and these battery cells have around 20% more energy density than the previous generation meaning these new BMW EVs the new models that are coming out over the next few years will have a lot more range than BMW’s existing EVs in fact the new EX-3 small electric SUV which should start at a price of around 85,000 Australian dollars will have 800 km of range and 400 plus kow charging speed pretty good kooper is bringing out an updated version of the Bourne it’s called the Bourne VZ that’s meant to be coming within the next few months ford Ford bringing out well a couple of new models one is their electric transit van i think this will be a huge hit it sells it’s the bestselling electric van in the United States by a mile it’s meant to be coming within the next couple of months and that’s going to be a good seller in Australia because there’s not a lot of options when it comes to electric vans more are coming but um there’s not a whole lot one of its rivals though is Verizon verizon is the EV van brand of Jile and they’re already on sale here in Australia in fact I’ve done a few reviews on them on the channel ford Mustang the Mace they’re bringing out an updated version of the Mace the new Mace facelift will uh will should provide a bit more power more performance and faster charging photon Photon are bringing out the Tonland G7 EVU that’s another new brand really for Australia not technically new but it’s new to most people spearheading China’s Photon commercial brands relaunch in Australia this year is the Photon Tonland G7 it’s a similar size to a Ford Ranger for example it’s meant to have uh the ability to tow 3,000 kilos only a single motor with 130 kW 330 Nm which is not great but range is going to be pretty good range will be 500 km so for an electric ute that’s pretty good getting back to Gile and their RD6 Ute or the Radar Radara brand that’s meant to be coming by the end of this year and it’s going to utilize a an 86 kWh battery giving this pickup truck or you as we say here in Australia 517 km of range like I said there’ll be two versions an electric version and a plug-in hybrid version the Genesis electrified G80 that’s also coming that’s um in fact just arrived the electric version of the Genesis G80 another new car in fact it’s already just arrived here in Australia is the Hyundai Ioni 9 and also there is the Hyundai Insta or Hyundai I should say because this is Australia but yeah Hyundai have just brought up the Ioni 9 and the Insta so the Oni 9 is actually probably one of the best seven seat electric SUVs family cars you can buy anywhere in the world the Insta is a small electric hatchback starting around $35,000 Australian hyundai or Hyundai are also bringing out an updated version of the IoniX 6 so the INX 6N will be the performance sedan which looks absolutely insane uh that’ll bring a lot of excitement for performance car fans should start about $100,000 though so it’s going to be out of the price range for a lot of people but that’ll be cool but they’re also updating the INX 6 it’s going to be a new updated version of the INX 6 with more range and a should be a bit better value as well the Kia EV4 is said to be coming to Australia the Kia EV4 will join up with the Kia EV3 ev4 is a kind of an unusual looking electric hatchback but I think it’ll be a really popular car that hatchback space you know there’s it’s getting a lot of models now so there’s going to be a lot of choice the Kia EV4 is a little bit bigger than the Kia EV3 which is already on sale right now that’s a small electric crossover there’s an updated version of the Kia EV6 coming as well so that’ll have more range with a bigger battery pack providing I believe nearly probably about 600 km of range in addition the Kia EV9 GT so the performance version of the EV9 that’s just arrived as well land Rover’s electric SUV the Land Rover Range Rover electric that’s going to be coming this year also the LDV Eteran 9 so Eer the Eteran 9 this is an a vehicle just built from the ground up to be an electric pickup truck and a lot of people I think are pretty pretty keen to get a proper electric pickup truck like this it should have around 500 km of range this is a fairly big vehicle it’s a bit bigger than a Ford Ranger it’s 5.5 m long and that means about 100 mm longer than a Ranger but it’s also wider it’s quite wide at 2 m wide it’s sort of in between the size of a Ford Ranger and a Ford F-150 leap Motor Leap Motor bringing out the new C16 they had the C10 already but this new C16 is 4.9 m long so it’s a bit bigger than the C10 this is a proper family car should have seven seats now the currently the C16 in China has around 500 km of range using a 70 kW lithium phosphate battery pack lexus Lexus are bringing out this um pretty insane looking HZ electric sports car the HC will come with three powertrains an EV powertrain and a hybrid powertrain now I know it’s actually looks like a sports car but this is actually a sedan it’s actually got two doors at the back it’s a four-door vehicle i think this looks pretty damn stunning this the entry level model gets 150 kW 300 N me of torque then of course the performance model is going to get a lot more power than that now what about Cadillac well Cadillac are bringing out the Lyric V that’s going to be coming to Australia in their first quarter of next year they bring out in fact three different models the Lyric V the Cadillac Optic and the Vistic so yeah I mean General Motors that’s their re-entry back into Australia pricing yeah pricing’s it’s more of a more of a positioned as a more of a luxury car which is what it is actually to be fair cherry Cherry bringing out three new cars they have the Tigo 7 Pro called the plug-in hybrid Tigo 7 Pro there’s the Tigo 8 Pro and there’s the Tigo 4 hybrid so Cherry have three new models coming as well deeple deep they already have one vehicle on sale here in Australia but the Deep S05 that’s coming in late 2025 this is a compact electric SUV price will start below $50,000 and it’s a 5o 5 seat vehicle apparently it’ll be about 4.6 m long very similar size to the J EX5 to give you some context of where this will sit bit bigger than a BD3 once again and should come with around 500 km of range that’s another good option coming to the market but are also bringing the EO7 the E07 is basically the weirdest looking car I’ve ever seen but apparently there’s been enormous interest in this vehicle and I’m actually a big fan of it this is a fully electric uh station wagon/suv/p pickup truck and it’s really cool because you can use it as whatever you want it’s it’s really um one of the weirdest vehicles I’ve ever seen but in some ways it’s the perfect crossover type vehicle for a lot of families a lot of people don’t need to use a ute and they often really use a ute as it’s in for its intended purpose but they just think occasionally they might need it so this is the kind of perfect vehicle for families it’s coming in around $70,000 and this is a good price for a vehicle that’s 5 m long and has quite a bit of space cargo space 640 L of cargo space it’s got a 90 kWh NM battery providing around 590 km of range for the all-wheel drive version but the rear wheel drive version will get 640 km of range in addition 800 volt architecture so charging speed should be pretty fast 240 kW charging for a lot of families this could be the ideal family car ju they are bringing out apparently it’s actually just been revealed and already is on just on gone on sale now the J7 plug-in hybrid that’s another option similar size to something like a BYD3 so it’s in that smaller size they start around $45,000 Australian dollars jeep jeep are bringing the wagon S the wagon S is a fully electric Jeep it’ll be the first electric Jeep that Australia will see and I think it’s going to be a really cool car i love the wagon S it’s typical Jeep but I think you know lots of improvements here it’s got quite a lot of range in the US it’s got about 600 km of range and this is a proper off-roading car they’ve really designed this thing to properly go off-road this should bring some people who buy currently buy SUVs you know internal combustion SUVs should bring them over to the EV space now circling back around to LDV livia are bringing out the Eeliver 5 which is an electric van that’s meant to be actually coming this year this is sold overseas as a Maxis and it’s a smaller electric van it’s going to be a rival potentially to the Volkswagen ID Buzz it’s been approved for sale in Australia but it’s it’s really a more of a commercial vehicle it’s not intended as far as I know to be a family car it’s 4.8 m long range of this electric van is 335 km and if you want to you can get a stretch wheelbase version which is going to be 5.25 m long leap motor they already sell the C10 the fully electric version you’ve probably seen that and I’ve done a review on that if you want to check it out on the channel but also they have they’re bringing out the C10 ERV so the hybrid version and when I say hybrid managed version I mean the range extender version of the C10 that’s meant to be coming this year the B10 they’re also bringing the B10 EV b10 is a BYD3 rival and it’s meant to be priced probably around less than $40,000 very likely probably between 38 to $39,000 approximately it’s 4.5 m long so that gives you an idea on the space just a little tiny bit smaller than a J EX5 should come with around 430 km approximately of range that’s another option that’s going to be here very soon now Mazda we don’t have any word yet but we know that there’s a good chance Mazda will bring their new electric sedan that they’ve just revealed in China that thing has been so popular they got 30,000 pre-orders within the first 2 months that’s just pre-orders before it’s even gone on sale mazda say that’s they’re planning on that being a global model so there’s a very good chance we’re going to be able to buy that Mazda electric sedan that’s made in China pretty soon as well mercedes-benz they bring out an update to the EQS to be honest mostly expensive cars the C350E that’s coming as well let’s move on from that mg are bringing the HS plug-in hybrid which is getting a huge improvement in electric only range right now the HS plug-in hybrid has 60 km of range they’re bumping that up to 120 km of range that’s a pretty good improvement now this vehicle is a similar sort of size to a Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid and that’s probably the kind of market it’s going to go against one car maker bringing a lot of EVs to Australia is Mini uh Mini have the new JCW electric that’s available I believe within the next few weeks and I mean Mini is going EB only so within a within I believe 5 years all of Mini’s vehicles will actually be fully electric nissen kudos to Nissen they’re finally bringing the Nissen Ara to the Australian car market this also a similar size to the GE EX5 the Nissan Ara is should be priced at around a similar price I’d estimate to something like a an Xpang standard range G6 probably around about $55,000 Australian peugeot we don’t know which models exactly are coming but we’ve heard Peugeot are making a decision on whether they bring the E208 uh the E208 the E308 the E308 the E48 and the E50008 that’s six different electric models that Puerto have to choose from if you’re interested in any of those send Peugeot an email give them an idea on where the demand actually sits and they’ll be able to make a better decision on which models they should bring polestar Polestar bringing out the new Polestar 5 the Polestar 5 this guys this car really does remind me a lot of the the the Xpang P7 Ultra very very similar kind of shape looks cool this is a a four-door sedan and it’s a lift back as you can see it looks more like a coupe doesn’t it but it’s actually a proper family car should have a fair bit of space but the Polestar 5 is apparently going to be coming by the end of this year and that means Polestar will have the Pstar 2 the Polestar 3 the Polestar 4 and the Polestar 5 here in Australia this car has a bonded aluminium construction meaning GigaCast it’ll be lighter than other vehicles its size it’s going to be about 5 m long has an 800 volt architecture should have charging speed close to 500 kW it’s going to be a pretty impressive vehicle plus it will have 650 kW and 900 Nm meaning it’s going to be nearly as powerful as a Porsche Tan Turbo S apparently as well as that the Pulsar 6 electric sports car could be coming next year potentially in 2026 porsche Porsche have the new Macan and Macan 4S in fact all the Macans are EV only and incredibly you’d think right Porsche’s sales in Australia would be going down because surely people don’t want electric Porsches as people say but actually it’s not true in fact this year Porsche have sold more Macants than they sold last year when the internal combustion version was on sale so the EV version is actually selling better than the internal combustion version i just drove one of these down u to the Melbourne EV show and I’ve got to tell you it’s one I’ve driven a lot of electric cars and I’d say it’s one of the probably two best EVs I’ve ever driven so kudos to Porsche for doing such an incredible job porsche also just brought to Australia the Tan 4 and the Tan GTS and there’s also plans for the 718 EV the Scoda Lrock that you might have seen at some of the EV shows it was just at the news EV show that I was at that was uh that’s a pretty cool looking car the Scoda Lro is actually already on sale now it’s just gone on sale and it starts at a pretty reasonable price it started starts at a price of $55,000 also a similar size to the J EX5 smart smart is another brand we forget that Smart are around but actually this is a brand joint owned by J and MercedesBenz gile own the majority of it but Smart are bringing the hashtag five this is called the Smart Five that’s a midsize electric SUV actually similar size to it as the Model Y but it’s because it’s a more boxy shape it might have a little bit more space on the inside than some other vehicles its size that’s maybe coming at some point this year and Smart are promising this will have proper off-road capability charging speeds really really fast i believe charging is an 800vt architecture and 500 kW charging speed meaning it can charge in 15 minutes from 10 to 80% that’s um yeah that’s really quick it’s 4.7 m long and it has a 100 kWh battery from Kad CL meaning it will have around 680 km of range that’s um that’s a lot of range suzuki Suzuki have just announced that they are bringing an electric their first proper electric car in fact literally 35 minutes ago from when I filmed this video Suzuki said that their new EV will come to Australia with prices starting at less than $50,000 i’m going to estimate it might might be around $42,000 in fact based on prices we’ve seen elsewhere there is an allwheel drive version of this by the way and it comes with a 61 kWh battery enabling 430 km of range meaning I think that’s a pretty decent amount of range the allwhe drive version has a 48 kW rear motor and a 135 kW front motor and guys these are meant to be prop saying this is a proper vehicle you can drive off-road the all drive version it’s going to be pretty decent off-road charging speed is 150 kW so decent charging speed not amazing but pretty decent so good to see Suzuki planning on having their first EV on sale in Australia this year toyota guys toyota have they’re working on a whole bunch of EVs they have a bunch of electric cars on sale in China but you know what toyota Australia they believe you don’t want to buy EVs they believe Australians don’t want EVs in fact Toyota doesn’t think the world wants EVs but they do have them you can get them in US you can get them in China particularly in China there’s a bunch of models ch i mean if there was a bit of pressure on Toyota they might bring some EV models to Australia the only model they have right now is the BZ4X it’s okay but you know one model for the biggest car brand in Australia it’s pretty poor if you ask me volkswagen volkswagen will bring out an updated version of the Volkswagen ID4 that’s meant to be probably middle of next year middle approximately June 2025 and they’re also bringing the Volkswagen ID5 the ID5 is like the coupe version of the ID4 volvo just began selling the EX90 plug-in hybrid that’s already on sale now the EX30 cross country that’s fully electric of course the EX30 the off-road cross country version that’s coming within the next few months and apparently Volvo are actually going to bring in the ES90 so the ES90 is an electric sedan so we’ll see if that happens not sure if that will meant to be on the cards now Zika finally we’re getting to some of I think the most exciting car brands here Zika and Xpang Zika bring out the 7X the seeker 7X it comes with a 100 kWh battery from Kadel very fast charging speed apparently can charge in around 15 minutes that battery pack and that’s going to have about 650 km of range really good family car this a bigish car a little bit bigger than a Tesla Model Y or an Xpang G6 around 4.85 m long proper luxury car and that’s going to be priced at probably around $75,000 for the base model version the smaller battery pack around $75,000 that’s my estimate but this is a really good car coming to Australia there’s a lot of interest in this vehicle the Zika Mix is meant to be coming in 2026 that’s an electric van and a lot of people love the Zika Mix there’s been a huge number of people actually request the Zika Mix that’s Yeah hopefully that’s coming next year now Zika actually have a whole lot of other models that are meant to be coming out in China soon not sure which of those will come to Australia but some of them definitely could xpang finally Xpang they are bringing in new models they are bringing in the X9 the updated version of the Xpang X9 with an 800vt platform charging speed 12 minutes this is going to be the fastest charging car I believe in Australia 10 to 80% battery charge in 12 minutes utilizing approximately 500 kW charging speed that’s crazy xping are also planning on bringing in the X9 there’s an updated version of the X9 which I saw in China a couple of months ago that’s their MPV should be priced at around $85,000 Australian it might actually be the best value family MPV on on sale in Australia probably good chance that’s going to happen good range in that too 600 km of range in that vehicle same charging speed 500 kW charging speed really really impressive plus Xpang potentially I’ve heard might be bringing the Xpang Mona the M03 this is one of the most affordable electric sedans in the world starts at around $17,000 US in China and it it’s going to come in and definitely undercut the BD seal on price it will be a lower price without doubt than the BD seal going to provide people you know a real real alternative to the Toyota Camry in terms of pricing probably going to cost around $40,000 Australian for a proper electric sedan so those are three cars Xpang are bringing xpang you know have launched a whole bunch of new models they also have a plug-in hybrid that’s been revealed in China recently and in addition to that they got the P7 the new P7 the P7 Plus which is here u which is meant to be at the EV show here in Melbourne at the auto show that’s going to be coming potentially to Australia as well so a bunch of new models coming as well from Xpang as you guys can see this is not every single model because you’d be here for the next 2 or 3 hours these are some of the most important models that can be here on the market within the next 6 to 12 months in Australia guys what are your thoughts let me know which of these interests you the most bye-bye [Music]
