2025 Toyota Prius Prime: QUICK REVIEW+TEST DRIVE #cars #toyota #prius #prime
Here we have the 2025 Toyota Prius Prime XSE. Not to be confused with the standard Prius, which is already a hybrid setup. The Prime being a plug-in hybrid setup with up to 44 mi of pure electric driving range and a 0 to 60 of around 6 1/2 seconds. In pure electric, 0 to 60 is still around 11 seconds, making it just about as quick as the previous generation Prius. The XSC gets these LED headlamps with black headlight housing, LED fog lights beneath it, and full front parking sensing. 19-in black and silver contrasted wheels with some gloss black for the wheel wells. Aggressive looking side profile with blacked out pillars, blacked out mirrors, and smart access for the driver and a front passenger. A sporty looking rear end styling reminded me a lot of the new Nissan Z with black tail light housing, black badging, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle badge in the lower right part of the trunk lid. Full rear parking sensing with LED reverse lights. Powering the 2025 Prius Prime is this 2 L hybrid setup cranking out about 160 horsepower for the gasoline motor, about 94 for the electric with a combined output of 220 horsepower sending the power to the front wheels with an ECVT transmission. You can expect 0 to 60 in the mid 6second range and around 11 seconds in pure EV. The XSC gets a soft door panel and a gushy soft armrest, four- window, leather seats with perforation and very solid bolstering and full electric adjustments. So, we get a premium interior here with the 7-in digital gauge display and the 8- in touchscreen, eyesight sensors, leather steering wheel, soft touch with the dashboard, interior illumination, heated seats, USBC ports, wireless phone charging pad. We’ll take a quick look at the backup camera, which is a pretty high resolution with guidance lines throwing right back into park. We get our drive mode selector and auto EV to hybrid. Our drive modes include eco, normal, and sport mode. Back seats got this funky door handle area with hard plastic door panel and a nice soft armrest on a onetouch window and pretty comfortable seats. The padding does not go out to the door frame, but the leg room looks really solid. A little bit over 6 ft tall. I still have about 5 1/2 in of knee room and about an inch of headroom. The cargo space for the Prius, we don’t have an electrically opening lift gate, but it’s solid with a hatch, some secret storage underneath, too. Hopefully pick it all up on camera. I’ll leave a link right here. Show you the exact cargo space. All right, guys. Taking a step out here in normal mode. Good response. And we’ll lean into it about halfway. Woo! Traction control, guys. This thing can rip. Throwing it in quicker than we should. Woo! Good handling. And let’s go. Traction control again. Yeah, I mean, this thing is a lot quicker than I thought it would be. That’s about it though, guys, for this 2025 Toyota Prius Prime XSE. Please like, comment, and subscribe.
