2026 Volvo XC60 T8 Plug-In Hybrid Ultra – POV Test Drive
Good morning everyone. This is Drew with Drew Drives at Grubs Volvo in Greatvine, Texas. And today we’re going for a drive in the facelifted 2026 Volvo XC60 plug-in hybrid T8 Ultra. [Music] So this facelifted XC60 is quite nice. It has the same interior as the XC90 pretty much the 2025.5 and 2026 XC90. I’ve already uploaded a video on the B5 Plus. And I’m getting videos on all the trim levels, so stay tuned for that. But I want to get a video on the Ultra today. You have some beautiful um open pore wood trim. It’s like a It’s like a white wood. Looks really nice. You have the beautiful crystal gear shifter. And I love this two-tone steering wheel. It’s beautiful. White with black. And then this has the white steering wheel. So you have the white Volvo logo. I like that. You have the updated screen, of course, with built-in Google Maps, Google Maps, and the gauge cluster as well. This Ultra will give you 360 camera. You also get ventilated seats, heated seats, and a heated steering wheel, which you can access by using this little button right there. Let’s turn on those ventilated seats for this test drive. Let’s put it in power mode. So, you have hybrid, power, off-road, and all-wheel drive. Battery usage. I’m going to make the steering feel firm. It doesn’t make that much of a difference, but I’ll just prefer it to be a little more firm. Um, for driving, this one has the Harman Cardon sound system. Bowers and Wilkins, I believe, is an option, but this it comes standard with the Harman Cardon and the Ultra. You have a panoramic sunroof, and you have a beautiful white interior in this one. It’s I believe this is blonde. But let’s uh walk around this XC60 and take a look at it. You have your charging door over there uh to plug in the vehicle for your battery and electric range. The grill’s different on this on the new uh 2026, of course. And here are the rear seats. Pirelli tires. You have a T8 plug-in hybrid allwheel drive badge on the back. And here’s the trunk. Pretty good space back there. And let’s look at the window sticker. 2026 XC60 T8 plug-in hybrid Ultra 2 L turbocharged direct injected engine with electric motor, 8-speed gearronic automatic with 455 horsepower and 523 lbft of torque with the 20-in diamond cut alloy wheels which look quite nice. The Ultra will give you Harman Cardon interior level illumination. The diamond cut wheels, tailored dashboard, crystal gearronic shifter by Aura Force, air purifier, laminated glass, four-way lumbar support, graphical head-up display, ventilated front seats, pilot assist, climate pack, this one has climate package, front seat massage. Oh, that’s cool. Uh, total MSRP is $75,235. You have 63 MPG and 28 MPGon combined with your annual fuel cost estimated to be $1,600. Exterior is dusk and the interior is blonde perforated Napa leather. Let’s get this car out on the road and see how it drives. Trying to figure out how I can turn on the massaging seat. Oh yeah, that’s how I do it. So, click this little button right there. I’m going to try pro. I’m going to hit start massage and see intensity 3 and speed three. So, let’s see how that does. That’s pretty cool that this has a massage. It’s only It’s only like a $600 option. That’s pretty impressive. Let’s get it out on the road now. And I believe the uh electric range is like 30 miles or 35 miles or something like that. massage function. Nothing too crazy. It’s just like nice little rollers on your back. So, I mean, obviously, massage seats in vehicles are not meant to be like super intensive, but they’re just uh meant to just, you know, give your make give yourself give you a little bit more comfort on your back, and it does that for sure. Yeah, these T8 Volvos are quick. 455 horsepower is pretty insane. So, while they’re not sport, while they’re not like sporty, they’re not meant to be. They’re very quick. Like, you have instant acceleration. Like, this thing, especially around like parking lots or low speeds, like you can just like uh whiz through traffic and it like you you put your foot down, this thing will move. It’s very effortless. But the ride’s very comfortable, of course. No surprise there. Volvos are very comfortable to drive. I’m going to put it back into hybrid mode. See how that does. Looks like you have some regen braking as well. It’ll show you when you put your foot off the brake instead of being on the power mode. It’ll charge help charge the battery. and I really do like this facelifted XC60. It’s nice. Would have been cool if they changed the headlights too like they did on the XC90, but um the grill is nice and the biggest differences are the interior. From the exterior, you can’t really tell all that much, but the interior is very clear. That’s the facelift with the new steering wheel. The gauge cluster looks a little more up updated and you have the bigger screen which is the biggest uh changes of course that you found in the facelifted XC90. As you can see, very very effortless acceleration. You don’t even have to try. seats are the this nappa leather is extremely comfortable. It’s very nice. And the thing with these T8s is that they’re great daily drivers because it gives you the best of both worlds, gas and electric power. If you just plug in the car and you have a short commute, you you barely even have to use the gas the gasoline tank. It’s just going to be being driven off of the electric power. Just plug it in. If you live like 10 15 minutes away from work, that’s all you really got to do. Just plug it in. Um and then you can get 35 mi of range roughly depending on how you drive. So that’s amazing. You’re barely even going to have to see the gas pump. What more do you want than that, right? Overall, very smooth drive in this car. Feels great. Materials feel wonderful. It’s a very elegant little SUV. I like this car. If I got if I got uh this car, I would definitely get the off for the Bowers and Wilkins. The Bowers and Wilkins system and Volvos are fantastic. And I love the speaker that they have up there on the dash. It looks really nice. Man, I love that crystal gear shifter. You guys know that I love the crystal gear shifter. Every single Volvo video I make with that shifter, I always say something about it because it deserves to have something said about it. It’s very nice. And then you have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, of course. Like if you you could literally just use your Google Maps, which I really I love built-in Google Maps. It’s fantastic. And I love how the gauge clusters of Google map as well. So that’s really cool. Um, if you hit this camera button, you can see the camera, see how you are in your parking spot, see the front, sides, and the rear. So, that’s pretty cool. And you have the creep setting on right now. But overall, this is a this is a very beautiful XC60 plug-in hybrid. Thanks for watching another video, Drew Drives.
